The guys who work here are so helpful and friendly and kind. It’s so refreshing. I will always come to this USPS because of the customer service. I think of them is named Joe. I hope they get a raise!

Had to return some holiday shopping items and Martha was super helpful. I had a box that couldn't be shipped due to labeling and she helped me fix it right up and get the items out on a new box. Very helpful and fast. Thank you for the great service.

Consistently the nicest and most helpful postal workers I’ve ever encountered

The lady at the passport desk is VERY rude. I left the entire building and chose to go elsewhere for my passport after one sentence from her.

I couldn’t leave my parcel (drop off), they don’t have a counter for this, I had to stand in line with 10 people ahead of me!!! The idea of drop off is not to stand in line!!!

I just got off of the phone with Brett (forgive me if spelling is wrong) and he was incredibly helpful in assisting me in finding a lost package. Thank you Brett for all of your help!

It's time I showed my local post office a little love here on Yelp! I'm admittedly a bit a USPS fangirl (my godfather was a carrier, so I consider it in the family, so to speak), and the rates we pay for postage are far lower than in many other countries, with pretty reliable service all around. I've been coming to the Portland branch at 400 Congress Street since I moved here last year, and it's not an exaggeration to say that it's always an uplifting experience. All the staff are super knowledgeable and helpful (even the slightly grumpy guy), and when I was in a transient status for my first few months here they were especially great at helping me finesse multiple mail forwarding/PO box/re-forwarding stages (which can get all kinds of complicated). Sure, there are lines sometimes; even when I've had to wait here, they move things along at a good clip (and don't forget that USPS isn't funded or staffed up as much as it could be, which isn't the fault of the employees). It's the little interactions that make daily life better, and coming into this branch is one of them.

The man here at the counter was extremely rude and unhelpful. As a younger person who really doesn't understand the post office because it’s obsolete with technology now a days and was simply trying to mail something out for the holidays, he could not have been more rude or unhelpful. No wonder the postal service is going under if this is the standard. I understand that we need two forms of identification but when someone asks about that for further confirmation, saying “nope it’s been this way since 9/11!”, a time that I was not alive for might I add, is not the right response.

Tearable service, very rude to me. I've never mailed anything out before and he was very rude about it. I ended up leave. Safe to say I'm never going back

Rude employees. There's one in particular that runs his mouth about anything and everything who goes out of his way to degrade his female coworker who I assume is the boss even badmouthing her to customers. Deliberately stating he doesnt like following her rules and when shes not there they do not get followed. Obnoxious and acts like its a free for all. There's absolutely no parking unless you are lucky to get a spot in the front. I now go out of my way to avoid this location.
