The only thing I was more impressed with than RJ's skill and knowledge was his customer service!! I asked RJ for a putter extension and new set of grips on my clubs during a very busy time for him. He took my order and worked on it while his sister was going into labor with his first nephew and if that doesn't show dedication to his craft then I don't know what does!The manufacturer sent him the wrong sized grip for my putter, and rather than cancel that piece of my order, RJ took the time out of his busy day to drive to Portland and pick up the correct one from a specialty store. I had a tournament to play in the next day and he did all of this within 24 hours for me!I took my time in writing this review because I wanted to get a few rounds in with my new grips. They did not disappoint! I could feel an immediate difference in my grip pressure and hand alignment, as well as my swing path.RJ goes above and beyond to work with each client and tailor their orders to their specific needs. He walked me through each and every option available to me, including ways to save myself money. He is a hard working, honest, and personable professional and I will be sending anyone I can his way!Thank you, RJ!!

Very high quality work. Fair prices. RJ built me nearly an entire new set of completely customized clubs. He was very good at presenting me with all my options and talking me through what would work best for me. So let me begin by say I enthusiastically recommend RJ Niles. I've been playing matched shafts for over 30 years. Had numerous sets of frequency matched iron sets. The concept is nothing new. But you must trust the person building you a set of frequency matched clubs. Trust is key!! Why frequency matched shafts? So in your current iron set you ever notice that you have a favorite club? Why is that? Answer is simple...it's matched to your swing tempo and speed. So wouldn't it be ideal if all your clubs were exactly the same and produce consistent results shot after shot. That's exactly what RJ will do for you...in building a custom set matched clubs dialed into your swing.I live in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and play a pretty decent game. I'm 64 yrs old and have been playing golf for over 50 years. Handicap between 1& 4...(best ever...plus 3). So I hit my 7 iron 155-157 with consistency. RJ did that. He built me a set of Srixon ZX5's with Recoil shafts....By far best set ever. Picked up about 5 yards on each iron. This young man really knows what he's talking about. As I said, I live in Myrtle Beach...golf capital of world. Club fitters everywhere down here. So ask yourself why would I have someone in Maine... custom build me a set of irons when in Myrtle Beach fitters are everywhere? TRUST!!! He earned it.He is very passionate about what he does. He wants customers to be completely satisfied..as I am.Frequency matched golf clubs are well worth it... Heck what do you think the pro's use? Custom clubs. So why shouldn't you?RJ can provide by building you frequency matched set of clubs...and knowing this then He most certainly can do everything else in the golfsmith business....He has my complete trust and confidence. RJ has regriped and extended a number of clubs for me this season. I've also done a shaft demo with him and ended up improving my drives with the shaft he helped me select. RJ is a nice guy and highly knowledgeable , I highly recommend him if you are in Southern Maine.

I recently brought my clubs to RJ for new grips, they were ready the next day! RJ is a fine, friendly and knowledgeable young man. He exudes passion for golf and is skillful in his craft. I highly recommend RJ!
