Had tremendous meals. Roast duck for myself and filet mignon for my wife as well as a satisfying bottle of wine. Although quite sated we split a ginger creme brule'. Delicious!! Tremendous atmosphere in a spectacular building. Service was attentive and personal.Food & drinks: Ample cocktails and a complete wine list.

I can recommend Loon Lodge for people seeking a quiet laid back experience, with pleasant comfortable rooms. The lodge has a large restaurant and a small pub. We were never bothered by noise, and both places generally closed up by about 9 pm. The room was clean and nicely decorated without being too fru-fru. I appreciated the rack of hooks outside of the bathroom for hanging coats, light bags, or whatever. However, it would be nice to have 1-2 hooks in the bathroom, as many people have toiletry bags that hang. Likewise, as this (and many) hotels offer the option to not have towels replaced daily, it would be nice if there were more places to hang wet towels. The lodge has a nice dock/float, small beach, and a somewhat grand set of stairs leading across a large lawn down to the lake. All nice. There was nothing much that 'invited' guests to explore or use this lovely area. In summer, some of the view from rooms and restaurant may be impeded by trees that could use pruning. While there is a deck of sorts, its primary purpose is for outdoor dining when the weather is suitable, and not outfitted for hotel guests. The lobby equally serves restaurant and hotel guests. Initially, it looked like a nice place to read a book on one of its lodge-look couches. However, piped-in semi-upbeat music is always playing. Also, one day, a meeting between a wedding planner and couple was taking place in the same area. The lodge provides a simple morning snack of Keurig coffee or tea, and a bakery-style boxed muffin with your room name on it. It was ok but nothing to write home about. The pub was pleasant, and seemed to have locals as well as guests, with a friendly, laid back vibe. The pub menu is small but adequate and the food and drinks, and service was fine. Be aware that the lodge is about a mile from the village, and everything in the village closes up by 9 pm. Likewise, a grocery store that is about a quarter mile from the lodge also closes at 8 or 9. Otherwise, there is nothing within walking distance, which is not a complaint, just an FYI. The village is a quick straight shot by car. In August, on a weekday and weekend, we never felt it was overcrowded, and never had a parking issue.

We had a disappointing experience at Loon Lodge today. We've eaten and stayed there several times over the years and always enjoyed our meals and received excellent service.
Tonight we were warmly greeted and seated on the deck overlooking the beautiful lake.
Our server came by fairly quickly, there was no one else in the restaurant, and took our drink orders. He left before we could ask a few questions about the menu. When he brought the drinks, he was ready to take our order. We ordered apps and a salad and then fell of his radar.
Both the salad and app were delivered at the same time...I had even said we don't care which comes out first. He never checked in with us, asked if we wanted another drink, which we did, or refilled our water.
For whatever reason, maybe because we didn't order main courses, we felt invisible
there tonight.
By the way, the food was pretty good but no one there asked us if we liked it.

Cozy little lodge on a lake. This is NOT a quiet getaway type of resort. They often have events and you will be sharing the lobby / lodge with guests at the fine dining restaurant after 5. You can hear everything from the rooms as people party or walk on the rustic foundation. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are having a wedding or event. Some blackout curtains would certainly be a nice addition to the rooms in the summer.

Beautiful view from the dining room of the lake. Food and service was amazing! Make sure to leave room for dessert, you won't be disappointed! S'mores dessert was one of the best things I have ever had.

The loon lodge dining experience surpassed all expectations! My husband and I split an order of the lamb chops and the mushroom risotto and both were fantastic. The lamb chops were seasoned and cooked to perfection, and came with an incredibly flavorful mint sauce that complemented the meat so well. The veggies were also delicious (likely coated in butter) and I appreciated the spices chosen to season the carrots. The risotto was creamy and the right texture. I appreciated the assortment of mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach cooked into it. Finally we ended on a slice of key lime pie (also perfect)! And shared a warm chocolate bread pudding with his sister and her husband. (Pro tip: ask for vanilla ice cream with the chocolate bread pudding instead of the default chocolate). Service was also A+! The server made us feel really welcome and she did a great job accommodating our 4 year old nephew and 2 year old niece.

The Pickford Pub was a perfect Rangeley experience. Sue and her staff are amazing, their goal is to treat you well and to make sure you had the best dining experience possible. We started with a specialty cocktail with muddled blueberries. For the appetizer we had the calamari and for dinner the haddock and shrimp! Thank you again, five stars for service and food.
