Next time you visit, check out the framed documents above the retail counter; official Presidential Commissions issued to certify Rockland's (then-) postmaster. Some of them date back well over 100 years and they all speak of a time when local postmasters were appointed by (of all people) the president. It's a rare nod to the past for a public building these days.”
