“Just putting this out! My Girl friend has been seeing a PCP Dr at intermed for years now and she wants me to see hers because I need to get a PCP because oncologist wants me to! I'm coming off cancer treatment and reluctant to do so because I'm on a host of medication and afraid they won't prescribe the ones I'm on and others I'm having trouble filling because of various obstacles! my oncologist has dropped my pain medication and recently won't prescribe because my last pet scan showed no evidence of lingering cancer, but I'm suffering from the after affects of chemo and radiation and if anyone has researched cancer treatment it comes with it's own host of lingering issues including residual pain including radiation that hit my thyroid and I'm on medication for that, I developed micro acidic anemia, chemo induced neuropathy that's been giving pain which I take meds,I have lymphedema from radiation which seems to be right under a major source of pain, I have terrible insomnia which I take meds, but for my neoplasm pain which my Doctor refused any more pain medication and labeled me with opiod use disorder which has forced me because my pain has gotten so bad to try to self medicate which I know is wrong but it hurts to much to suffer. I also suffer from ADD. I started cancer treatment with just a handful of problems as of now I have a list of 16 because of urine testing and labs it seems the only thing in my opinion my oncologist wants to focus on is my urine results now I need to find a doctor that is more worried about the patient than trying to cover themself from scrutiny from the other oncologists for continuing to prescribe pain meds when they can legitimately be written for me I totally believe! I've spoken to other Drs at Maine Med and they agree the after affects of cancer treatment can linger months, years even the rest of your life after treatment apparently my oncologist is not one! Yes I've had failed urines a few times because I didn't dare to confront him that I was still in pain but now I'm so confused and don't know where to turn. I've been hospitalized as the result of a few things, self medicating and another I blacked out as the result of the pain in my jaw same spot as where some of my squamous cell cancer was and went off the road! I'm very lucky no one got hurt. So now I'm very reluctant to drive. I wake up everyday if I can sleep in pain which with my cancer diagnosis I had no problem receiving many pain meds it just seems like most of the medical profession has turned its back and sees me as an opiod user for euphoria not for pain! I'm not whining just trying to get my story out there! In my opinion The medical profession needs to get together because believe it or not people like me are some of the ones not on purpose but because of the medical professions reluctance to prescribe monitored pain meds for needy cancer patients like me become unnecessary victims of unintentional unneeded useless continued fentanyl overdoses they're reluctance to prescribe is because they don't want you to become dependent on them but they don't hesitate to offer methadone which is just as addictive if not more than the Dilaudid I was on and they don't have to prescribe it just send you to a clinic or prescribe Suboxone which is useless for me even for pain but still addictive so what is it? are Doctors believing this addiction snowjob because this is also directly due to the medical profession itself not just what is posted in the news about the fentanyl crisis I ask which is worse? Monitored opiod use for people in need or just throw em to add to potential fentanyl overdose epidemic just to satisfy a few medical hypocrites”

“I have teeny veins and it’s a legit challenge getting my blood drawn. It took a few tries and a few phlebotomists, but they did it! I found everyone to be very sweet, patient,professional, compassionate, and nice to chat with. It wasn’t a stressful environment, which I really appreciated.I saw other reviews mentioning the music…it was turned down to a pretty low volume, and I actually heard a patient compliment it on their way out. I didn’t mind it at all.Wait time was about 30 minutes on a weekday at 7:25am. I’ve heard weekends are the busiest time, so best to avoid.”
