I just went to Saco Veterinary Urgent Care for the first time as my regular vet hospital was booked for 4 days. My 5yo Pittie Mix was painful this morning, could not use stairs, and shaky. This place is GREAT! Support staff are very friendly. Dr. Pierre Giroux is very knowledgable. The triage and exam were thorough and he did not order a bunch of diagnostics to rule out X, Y, or Z (unlike a corporate ER in the area). Manage the pain with meds, monitor symptoms, repeat visit if symptoms do not subside or they worsen. Thank you for turning your practice into an Urgent Care that feels like your regular vet!

I went here with my 7 year old german shepherd for impacted anal glands. Dr. Linell was wonderful - efficient and no nonsense, got the glands clear, and did a thorough exam. I really liked this doctor and will use her as a resource if further problems on my dogs, since no veterinarians in NH near me are taking new patients. The urgent care fee is reasonable and way better than emergency hospitals. More expensive than a regular vet, but fair enough for what they provide. The consult with the veterinarian post procedure is a plus. She took the time needed. The receptionist was helpful and cheery, and printed out directions for my return home, since I got lost getting there with google map directions, lol. Typical Maine roads, haha. The place was clean and professional and calm. I am so glad I found this place and have it for a resource should I need it again. Flower is happily pooping without crying out in pain; thank you Dr. Linnell. :)

I have met many veterinarians in my career training dogs--first breeding, raising and training police dogs and now (in my semi- retirement) companion & service dogs for clients all over the country. Pierre and his team are the best of the best. They are up on all the latest literature, and if they are unsure of a diagnosis or treatment, they will research the issue or consult with or refer their patients to the best specialists within striking distance. The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy in the picture belongs to a client in SF, CA. Pierre was my first stop for a complete check and continued to care for her until she flew West at 6 mos. old. I can't imagine using another vet or facility.

Got same day apt which was a positive. However, when my boy got checked out the questions regarding his issues the vet had no answers. There were a million possibilities and unless I wanted to pay for blood work, stool samples, or a multitude of other expensive treatments he's basically a healthy dog.So I left w no answers and a hefty bill.I don't mind paying a lot of money for my dogs health, but, I should get something out of the money paid. From the time the vet met him to the time we left was less than 10 mins....... leaving no further ahead than when I arrived is defeating. I told the vet he was a very happy and healthy dog other than some recent changes, and she reiterated the exact words but charged me for it.With the way inflation has sky rocketed where's the human compassion? We're all trying to get by, including our furry friends, so if you call what the vet did that day "doing her job" and charge people for those services, you're basically stealing. We all gotta get paid but let's actually do the work to earn that money.

Called the vet office and encouraged to bring my cat who we suspect has a bowel obstruction, to the urgent care office. I drive there to find them on a prolonged lunch break and a parking lot full of animals waiting to be seen for urgent care. I could of gone to another emergency vet center in the opposite direction if I wasn’t sent here. What kind of urgent care closes mid operation. 1 star is too many for this place. MVMC is far superior and where I took my cat instead of waiting 30plus minutes for my animal to be seen for urgent care.

I had another vet because their office was open first before Saco Vet with Dr. Giroux opened. I had no intention of looking for a new vet but one day I had a pet emergency where my dog sliced his whole side off and I put him in the car and drove to the closest vet. I handed Dr. Giroux my dog worried he punctured a lung or something. I didn't know there was an emergency vet the next city over. He luckily didn't tell me to leave and go there, because that drive was far and I was panicked on the inside. This was when this was just a regular vet office. Dr. Giroux took my boy and immediately did surgery to put his skin back on. No appt, I just walked in and handed him my dog. I guess I wasn't thinking that of course he had other appts that day. His skill at the drop of a hat saved my boy, with no complications. He literally sliced his entire side like you filet a fish. I didn't even know the extent of it until he showed me out back. He dropped everything to save my boys life and he lives to this day. This was 7 years ago and I have been a pleased customer ever since. I would never want to go anywhere else. I am thrilled he opened an urgent care at this location and kept his other office in town for regular appts. This is hands down one of the best vet offices, clean, friendly, intelligent, caring and easy to work with. Thanks to the team for saving my boy that day!

They treated my cat. I walked in with my cat. They treated me with respect and were caring of Bo. Thank God it was not serious. But, they explained what was going on. Answered all my questions. I would recommend them.

Went here for a routine emergency with my dog. Was treated with utmost respect and care. I have lived in all four corners and the center of this country and this clinic is in my top two. Thank you so much for being amazing to my dog and me. A+++. Front desk, techs, and the Vet were all wonderful.

Very attentive and compassionate reasonable prices I switched from another local animal hospital because no matter what the issues or concerns they would always push apoquel as a quick fix I brought up concerns of wart like growth they prescribed apoquel I finally caught on it spread to the point I was very worried I now know through a biopsy it was not cancerous and have a prescribed diet that seems to have halted the progression I'm very happy I switched and now have some answers and a solid plan for less stress and more of a comfortable living for my little loved one Thank you Saco Veterinary Hospital and staff

I'd been having blood drawn on various cats here for years because my regular vet doesn't really do them. So she'd call them, tell them what we needed and I'd go down. All was good until I had to bring my boy in because he started having seizures on a Friday night and my vet wasn't in on Sat. A bit later my vet called them to see if they'd dispense more of a med I'd gotten from his last visit. Well, they decided he needed an mri, which wasn't going to be helpful. My vet and I both disagreed. Someone at saco vet yelled at my vet and they refused to help until I spent thousands on a pointless test. Don't let it be lost that they decided that his regular vet had to acquiesce to their thoughts on his care. Fast-forward. My boy needs a blood draw...again been done a bunch of times. I called and they said they'd do it...until someone looked at his chart. They made up some bs about maine state law saying they couldn't do a blood draw without proof of rabies. He has one; just not current. Thats not a law and its ridiculous....and they never asked before. Vaccines dont work instantly, so it does no one good AND you dont give vaccines to an animal when they are sick...and did i mention he has a seizure disorder. Not sure if they are holding a grudge or just want more money, but either way they wanted to endanger my boy's health. Unacceptable. Made worse because they knew my car was docked and id have to bike him 4 miles if they didnt do it. Some of the receptionists are quite rude and the vets think being right is more important than your pet's well being.

My parents tried to use this vet recently. They had a really bad experience. My parents have raised many dogs. They were so upset. I have never seen them this upset. My parents are kind people. The vet did not know modern animal care. It was a store to buy expensive food we get online for much cheaper. My parents do not get upset often.

Came here a few times and they never cared for my cats. The people who work here have a personal agenda. BICOP Should be aware and stay away.

Thank you Saco Veterans Clinic! We're Passing through and staying at an RV park in Scarborough. We came back from dinner last night and our cat had a significant limp. I called this morning and was told to come in and drop off the cat. We went in and discussed with the Vet Technician the signs and symptoms. We left, the Vet called within the hour with the diagnosis and outcome. Everyone from the receptionist, the Vet Technician and the Veterinarian were engaging, helpful and professional. I thought the price was very good also. Thanks again

BEWARE of Saco Veterinary Clinic & Animal Hospital of Saco THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR ANIMALS!!!After almost a decade and eight animals with them I decided to take my business elsewhere after they treated me poorly and now they are withholding preventative medication for my animals to prevent a very deadly disease known as heartworm caused by mosquitoes. Preventative medication for this is only available with a prescription and it is peak mosquito season. They are refusing to let chewy refill my prescription and another vet will not fill a prescription until they have met the patient and it takes months just to get one animal in to be seen sometimes and I have four dogs. After calling and trying to plead with them they have hung up on me several times even while I was hysterically in tears begging them for my dogs preventative medicine. They should be truly ashamed. This establishment is straight up so petty and bitter they are willing to risk my animals lives it’s disgusting. Both occasions, the first occurrence where they treated me poorly before I had decided to take my business elsewhere and now, the girls at the desk have refused to get me in contact with the owner. If anyone has his contact info, send it my way.* edited to add if anybody is able to get extra from their vet and get it to me, I will reimburse you and be forever grateful. My animals are everything to me and I would hate for something to happen to them needlessly ?
