As a kid you think it's a nice bank but then you get a job and you realize they are only open when your at work. If your debit card expires or is stolen you just starve that week until you get a new card. Best part is, they FORCE you to use an online account to order a new card card(you can't call for it). The account needs a few business days to activate so it just means it takes longer to arrive while you starve to death.

Lost my debit card in their ATM, which was my fault. I live 1 mile from their buxton location. I currently bank through Ocean Communities which is a 30 min drive from my house. Once I realized I left my card in their ATM, I called and spoke to a lady that said if I didn't come and pick it up today, my card would be destroyed. Given my work schedule, I wouldn't be able to pick it up til Friday morning (today is Wednesday). The lady on the phone basically told me too bad. That's horrible service and bad common curtesy for another human being. I will continue to bank 30 min drive from my house to not have to bank with this company.

overdraft and they won't reverse the fee! I have called them in the past and had no problem getting the fee reversed, then I called them today and they said that there was a note saying that no more fees can be reversed. I talked to someone in the checking department and they told me that they can't do it, then I asked to speak with there supervisor, then the supervisor hung up on me when I asked to speak to the president of the bank, then I called right back and then she transferred me to someone I thought was the president and he said the notes on my account say no more reversals so he can't do it, I asked if he was the president and he said no..... then I asked him if he can transfer me to the president and he said I don't know if he is in his office. I finally got in touch with the president and told him that I would like a reversal on a overdraft fee and he took my phone number down and called me back with his answer and still did not reverse the fee! so being a customer for over 10 years does not mean anything to this bank! the bank that listens "yeah right" so if anyone is looking to have a account there DONT!!!! they do not listen they do not reverse overdraft fees if you have more then 8 I guess that is the total I've had in the past year! all I can say is that they lost a loyal customer and I am telling all of my friends and family that has a account there to get rid of it!

Do not use them for a mortgage company! While everyone has been very nice, they have been equally useless and deceiving. We were quoted at 2.875% for a 15 year mortgage and three days prior to the closing that rate changed to 4.875%. They used one excuse after another in order to make the switch legally but they knew what they were doing all along. I've reached out to an attorney and am in the process of contacting the Better Business Bureau to try to prevent this from happening to others. I would give them 0 stars if that were an option.
