“What an incredible experience for my 4 year old! We sent her for winter vacation camp, and as a shy kid - she went running into the program on the second day with all the excitement in the world. The facility is beautiful, and the staff are so friendly and engaging with the kiddos. They kept her busy outside and she couldn’t wait to go back the following day. I am so thankful a place like this exists for kiddos!”
“Intimate venue that is great for performers. First come, first seated - but there are only about 15 rows of seats, so just about every seat has a good view. First row seats are right at the edge of the stage, and there is additional seating in the balcony which offers a great view from above the musicians.”
“Had a birthday party for my 7 year old here. We had Jack and Davie help us out. They were both incredibly professional and did such a nice job helping to entertain the kids. Everybody had such a blast. Would highly recommend throwing a party here.”

“My wife and I had our wedding ceremony at the Portland Masonic in the Armory room. The ornate and historical architecture made for a great venue. Nicki, the coordinator, was great to work with and was instrumental in making sure our ceremony went as planned. It was the perfect size for our 100 person wedding (though it could definitely accomodate a larger group). Nicki had a lot of great recommendations for making the space work well for us and we loved getting some photos taken in the historical elevators.

“This post is amazing, I was semi-connected with it over a decade ago and while I was having fun, then it did involve a lot Partying. It's a different story now, for many reasons That I will not go into it this time. The leadership there is incredible, welcoming, and more social oriented. They hold many dances, Public dinners, events like poker and bingo To mention but a few. To get an idea of the place drop in on a Monday Night from 4 o'clock on and check out the Bingo operation. There's no drinking while you're playing bingo. But you may have a drink at the bar while you're waiting Everyone there was a volunteer no one gets paid in 42 people had a good time last night. This is just one example of the many things they do. Money raise goes to many causes but one eye, especially like is a scholarship for kids going to trade school. Even if you are not a veteran of a foreign war, if you are related to one, you can join the auxiliary, men or women, Check it out”
“In addition to the fields, there's a great playground with two sides. One for younger and one for older kids. There's a nice covered picnic table area and swings too.”

“Sprague Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding. Coordinating with the venue was extremely easy before our event. Annie made sure that all our vendors had access and everything they needed from the venue. The venue schedule was extremely flexible and was able to accommodate all of our needs including trash pickup, rental pickups, and easy key pickup and return. The venue itself had indoor and outdoor options for our ceremony and reception and allowed us to customize our venue space pretty much however we wanted. Annie was extremely helpful in making sure the event space was flexible and offered everything it could to our needs.”

“The NYE parties are always great. Food selection could be a bit better. There are not a lot of options for people with dietary restrictions.

“We had our wedding reception here, and it was absolutely perfect! I could not say enough good things about Carrie, the event coordinator. She worked with all of our vendors to ensure things went smoothly and went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend as special as possible. The venue was very affordable and super spacious, but Carries services are what really made everything extra special!”

“I've photographed several weddings at O'Maine Studios and it's such a special venue! I love that it has an industrial feel that couples can make their own. It's also such a treat to be able to be downtown in Portland and get creative with photo spots around the venue. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a unique and fun downtown wedding venue!”
“My wife and I had our wedding reception at 33 Elmwood. It was the perfect place for us to have it and they did an amazing job! They went above and beyond our wildest expectations and made the whole event incredibly special for us. They were super on top of communicating with us and made it super easy to plan our reception. Ice and the rest of the staff thought of so many things that we just hadn't considered, from making sure my wife and I got food, to handling the cake, giving us loads of recommendations, and so much more.
All of our guests loved 33 Elmwood as well, from the food to the drinks to the activities and ambiance. The food options were great and Ice was super helpful in helping us figure out how much we needed for our guests. We were able to completely customize the drink menu, and we personally really enjoyed the fact that the signature drinks had both mocktail and cocktail versions since we don't really drink and the younger guests could enjoy them too.
We were very touched by how kind everyone at 33 Elmwood was. Overall they have an amazing crew and we couldn't recommend them more for hosting your events.”

Theater #11 is not posted, so if you're not familiar with this IMAX it can be confusing as to where it is.
Sit in the middle because speakers are loud. 16 oz bottle water was $ 6.50 (ouch).”

“During two weeks in Maine last month for a bike tour and sailing adventure, AC Hotel Portland Downtown/Waterfront was our basecamp. Regrettably, there are no photos of our room as before and after we (comfortably) crashed and burned after enjoying a terrific shower. Instead, AC Kitchen & Lounge was our place to regroup. On the first night, Barkeep Dusty - Portland's consummate ambassador - introduced me to locally-distilled Gunpowder Rye Whiskey. Additionally, he provided invaluable local insights. Overall, the AC is everything we want and need from a hotel. Already, my wife and I are contemplating a return...all the way from Tucson AZ!”

“The solitude here in the hemlock-covered banks of Silver Brook is especially pleasant. The trail is about 1.2 miles as a loop. Walking down into the woods you come to a bridge crossing the stream, then the trail climbs briefly and joins wider, grassy, former woods roads that make a loop around the property. The trail is marked with blue blazes and is mowed for most of the trail.”
