My experience was the total opposite of most of the reviews. The older woman I dealt with was very friendly, professional, and quick at getting me in and out.

Great customer service and most importantly - the packing of my two large shipments were AMAZING!! I have never had such well-packed/wrapped and professional services before. I HIGHLY recommend any packages/boxes be prepared and shipped through this wonderful store.

I’ve been here 3 times and they’ve always been unfriendly. I once brought a bigger box and they had me bring it into the back room since it was too big for them.

I'm not sure if the gray hair guy working all the time thinks he is being funny or that's just his attitude but it's never a fun experience going into this location.I will say however and this saves this from being a 1 star review, recently there has been a new female employee who has been easy to work with and it's been much better. It's convenient to be able to drop off both UPS and Postal Service as well.

Unfriendly, inflexible, rude, aggressive, and practically obstructionist. I came in with 2 boxes, both open. 1 just needed taping closed (I had brought tape with me) and a label. Lady employee watched me tape the box closed, saw my home-printed label on paper and said she’d generate the label herself. So far so good. The other box had a UPS label from the manufacturer that I needed to email to the store and print. It also needed more bubble wrap on top bc I had run out. It was a $700 coffee maker that was being shipped to the manufacturer for repair. First, I Was informed by lady at the counter that its $2.50 to print if i pay cash, but $5.00 if i pay credit. (Is that practice even legal anymore? Whatever, I didn’t argue. Just wanted to get out of there and move on with my day.) I set the box down on the floor by the bubble-wrap selection when older gray-haired male employee steps up in front of me and says: “There is no packaging here ma’am.” (My mind immediately thinks: Is he doing a Jedi mind trick on me? Aren’t I standing in front of a rack of bubble wrap for sale?) And he just remained there, in my physical space, too close for comfort, silent. Staring. I misunderstood. I say um… isn’t this packaging right here?” And he just repeated the same thing word for word, unmoving. It felt…..aggressive. Like he was angry at me. Like how dare I bring a box into a ups store and buy bubble wrap! I get with the program and say “Ok, are you saying Im not allowed to buy bubble wrap here and put it into my box?” He replied: “You either have to package at home and bring the box in closed, or let us package it.” Which was odd given that I had just taped the other box closed in front of the female employee and there was no issue - but again, i just wanted to get it done. So I asked how much it would cost and he said $5.00. Note: The cheapest bubble wrap was $5.99. I feel like I am missing something. I say “ok sure.” But I wondered what they were using given that they appeared to lose money on that deal. He then summons a 3rd employee, younger male, to finish packing the box. And as that employee starts to bring it into the back room I said: “can you show me how you packaged it when youre done? Its an expensive machine.” Somebody (older or younger employee, don’t recall) says yes. Younger guy comes back with the box completely closed and taped, says “See? All packaged.” (Am I being punked? I start scanning room for hidden camera crew.) I say: “I am waiting here because I need to make sure its packaged how the manufacturer wants. So I need to see how you packaged it. On the Inside.” With an eye-roll like *I’m* the unreasonable one in this interaction, he starts to slice the tape off the top, when gray-hair aggressive male employee summons him to finish the transaction he’s doing with somebody else, and comes back over to me and my box, and stands there gaping in silence. Guess its my turn to talk. I repeat: “I asked to see how you packed it so I can make sure its ok. Thats why Im waiting here. He gruffs out: “Its all taped up.” I reply: “I don’t care. I asked you to show me when you started. You know I am waiting to see how it was packed.” Silently he opens the box and tips it so I can see the inside. I see they put a little more bubble wrap on top. Looks fine. I ask: “Is there a way to tell on the label whether it has insurance? “ He says: “The company does it.” I ponder a beat. Nope, I dont know how that answers my question. I say: “ok, but can you please answer my question?” He says: “ You have to call the company.” I say: Ok just to be clear, are you saying there is no way to scan that barcode and tell me if this package is insured?” He says: “no.” I give up. For some bizarre reason “Thank you” escapes my mouth as I open the door to leave. As I hear it click closed behind me I feel a twinge of relief and protection, like Id narrowly escaped a negative energy vortex that had just been re-sealed. Never, ever, going back to the Western Ave UPS store in South Portland.

Very unfriendly. I was new to returning items through amazon and I had several packages going back. I didn't realize I needed boxes etc. as sometimes you do sometimes you don't I understand it was my mistake I had a lot going on and 2 out of 10 packages needed different attention. The store manager commented in a very degrading way. "your not batting very well today are you" I just moved to the area and was used to having to package and ship all my items out. I liked the idea of being able to go to the store and I mixed a couple up. Not deserving of his comments. If he said it with a smile or joking I would have gotten the joke but he was obviously put out and not friendly at all. Not the UPS I am used to.

After reading other reviews of this store, I’m fairly confident they stole the ladies coat I dropped off for shipping. The coat never had a departure scan and after 2 months was finally declared “missing.” Never again will I use this location.

Went in to drop off an Amazon QR code return and dealt with Pat. He was very friendly and had me on my way with no qualms about the return only being in the original Amazon envelope. Pro tip - don't fold the QR code in any way, makes it very hard for them to scan.

Won’t take shipments after 6 even though They say they are open until 6:30. Happy to waste customers time, won’t be back.

They won't take packages to ship 30 minutes before they close, even if you're willing to ship the next day. Do yourself a favor and just go to Staples across the parking lot, way better experience and they actually take your package when they're open...

I’ve never had to pay to have my Amazon return shipped out, but Pat insisted mine needed to be boxed. When I expressed confusion, he repeated, “It needs to be boxed.” Clearly, I did not have a box in my hands because it had been originally shipped in an oversized USPS envelope. I said, “I don’t have the means to box it. Do you have the means to box it?” “We can package it for you.” “Okay.” I’m already losing money on my return from the Amazon vendor, so an extra $9.99 doesn’t feel great. The lady behind me in line said she had an Amazon return. I turned to ask, “Does hers have to be boxed?” Pat didn’t seem to appreciate my joke.
