The Soup Kitchen serves an excellent meal on Wednesday evenings beginning at 4:00p.m. We had a wonderful & tasty meal of spaghetti, turkey burger meatballs, sauce, garlic bread slices, salad, dessert, and water or coffee/tea to drink. The service is excellent. I understand a meal of roast turkey with all the fixin's is up next week. Sunday breakfast popovers will resume on Feb 1.The volunteers are great!

Great place to enjoy the local popovers for breakfast, while supporting a worthy cause.

Go on a weekend when they have the Common Good Band playing. The popovers are perfect and the porridge was good. Marlene is awesome! Support this local non-profit.

The lady (I think she owns it and is also the cook) is SO sweet, such a gem. She makes you feel right at home. This place has a great vibe, with local bands playing music and delicious oatmeal and popovers.

Very friendly and greeted my dog with a treat when we arrived. Make sure you have the correct cash on hand because they don’t have change. There’s an ATM down the street. Suggested donation is $10 or more. The popovers are delicious and they have maple butter and cinnamon butter for them in addition to blueberry jam. I’ve only been on Sundays but there is a band playing on Sunday!

Bracing and organic coffee, robust oatmeal, truly perfect popovers and delectable homemade blueberry and strawberry jam. Oh yeah, all proceeds support a local soup kitchen. Could there possibly be a better way to start the day? If so, I don’t know it!

The common good kitchen, café is unique, and they feature music on Sunday morning of local musicians. The majority of these are ukulele players. I love the whole story behind it meager beginnings and the fruition of having the seawall dining room before it went its way. Then they ended up in town with the post office a couple doors down. It's just a happy, joyful place and low-key with mainly volunteers, putting the popovers and the juice and oatmeal out there for folks to share in. Make sure if you go to Southwest you plan on going and experiencing that special place! I live off the island about 40 minutes away but I am going to plan on being there on a Sunday morning so I can sing along with some great tunes the musical group chooses to play.and

The popovers were wonderful but the sweet lady that runs the non profit was the highlight. She was such a delight to talk to and I think she is doing amazing work for the community while serving great food.

This place is great. We had the breakfast popovers and porridge. There was a live band and comfortable seating. The food is available for a minimum $10 donation per person. This money helps to feed those in need on the island year-round. It's a great, simple way to help this beautiful community.

This misson is simply outstanding. My wife and i have visited at least a dozen times whenever we camped at Acadia or visited Maine. Now,however we LIVE in Maine and can visit Southwest Harbor any time we want. Today we introduced my brother and his wife from Mass to the wonderful popovers and butters along with the really excellent coffee. As an added bonus the Common Goods band was playing an excellent selection of songs. What a treat!

Delicious breakfast option for a great cause, what’s not to love? Popovers for eating in and to go are available with pick your own jams and butters, cinnamon honey and blueberry are my personal favorites. Having grown up going to Jordan’s Pond house, this is an excellent alternative with equally as good popovers! The volunteers are lovely and welcoming, and there is often live music. If for some reason popovers aren’t enough, they also offer oatmeal and coffee.
