Great place to spend a couple of days. Perfect location. Very good breakfast. The little pool is nice. The hot tub is nice too, if it's not being hogged by the Harvard professor, and his wife. Go out the front door, make a right, and you're eating lobsters by the water. Make a left and you're eating wood fire pizza in town. Good times!

We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room #5 it was beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfortable. Milan was so nice and welcoming. It was nice to stay at a quiet inn away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, but still be close to restaurants and shops and Acadia national park. Thank you!

One of our very favorites inns. Innkeepers/owners are caring and pay attention to details. Decor and comfort are top notch. Definitely recommend this inn!

Milan is the the best Innkeeper! He is personable , warm, welcoming & made our weekend visit memorable as it was a special wedding anniversary. Since we adopted 3 children, this was the first time in 10 years that we spent alone on a vacation.I choose the Lindenwood based on reviews & location, the quiet of southwest Bar Harbor away from the crowds. I booked a room via phone with Milan the day of arrival. Milan greeted us and after having a nice conversation he took us to the Rosebrook House next door and showed us the 1st floor suite, complete with living room, kitchen and a king size bed for my 6" 3" frame. Instead of one night we ended up spending the weekend. At night we spent time in the pool & hot tub which was most enjoyable. Loved everything about our breakfasts, from the seating with table cloths, juice, coffee, fresh fruit, bread and a hot breakfast that would surpass the best restaurants along with the staff that was attentive & friendly. We spent the day at Acadia National Park, just a short 15 minute drive. One morning we walked to the boat dock right behind the house enjoying the harbor view and the many boats. We are looking forward to another Costal Maine trip and a stay at the Lindenwood Inn. Thank you again Milan for all you did in making our memorable stay most pleasant.

We had the BEST stay here!! We stayed in the penthouse suite (Room #7) and it was worth every dime!! The website does not do it justice. The deck view is amazing and such a relaxing little spot. Take advantage of the grill and the hot tub. The workers were SO nice and the breakfast was amazing!! If you are looking for a stress-free night, with a short distance to Bar Harbor, this is the spot for you. We hardly ever want to plan to go on vacation in the same space twice, and we are already planning another trip here. HIGHLY recommend!Rooms: So comfy, clean and has all the amenities we needed and then some!Walkability: There are a few small shops and restaurants within walking distance. Nice change of pace from the busy Bar Harbor. 5 minute walk from Beal's. 10-15 minute walk to Red Sky. Both great spots!Food & drinks: The breakfast at the Inn was amazing. We were actually sad the day we had to miss breakfast because we were meeting friends in Bar Harbor early.

We stayed in room 8, which is separate from the main house and won't be back. The unit was well furnished and clean but the overall care of it was shocking. The reviews were great and it photographs well but I didn't except to see holes in the floor and tons of old water damage, especially at $450 a night.Lack of security was my largest surprise and the reason I won't return. The unit is part of an older home that has been subdivided. There's a random pocket door off the kitchen that led to a dividing wall and a random door. Upon inspecting the door, it accessed the open basement. The basement had another door that went out under a deck and was wide open for anyone to walk in for the two nights we were there. The sliding door or the door at the top of the stairs didn't even have locks on them, meaning anyone could have walked into the home from the open basement. It kinda defeats the purpose of the lock on the front door if the back door is wide open and can't be locked. We were uncomfortable not being able to lock the doors but only reason we didn't leave was because the bedroom door had a deadbolt on it.I don't believe there was any ill intent but it seems like a major safety oversight. The basement looked like it was where they did the house keeping from and I'd assume it was open for easy access. One or both of the basement doors should have been locked, preventing access to the basement from the unit and vice-versa. I did not address my concerns at the time of stay but I don't believe I should have to ask for a unit which locks from the outside.I think the outstanding reviews are related to the main home. I can't believe I paid as much as I did for this.

We stayed in room 7 and it was so worth it. The private hot tub on the rooftop deck was awesome. The staff was all really nice and accommodated our late arrival. We would definitely stay here again. I don’t regret at all not staying in Bar Harbor. It was so crowded when we were there. Acadia was really easy to get to as well.

My wife and I have stayed here several times, and it's always incredible. The property itself is very cozy, conveniently located for many hikes, tourist areas, and hubs like Bar Harbor. The owners, Jim and Milan, are both great and go out of their way to make sure every guest feels welcome and has an amazing stay. Southwest Harbor has a number of outstanding restaurants within walking distance, including seafood, BBQ, cafes, and others. Highly recommend choosing this if you plan on visiting Mount Desert Island. Very quiet, comfortable, and welcoming, you won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful place! We got a very warm welcome, and were very happy with our room in the annex building -- and then Milan offered us an upgrade to a lovely room in the main building, which had the advantage of being close to the breakfast and living room, and the pool and hot tub. The rooms we saw were beautifully done and in great shape. Housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast was great and abundant! Yogurt and fresh fruit, home baked coffee cake, and then a main, eg pancakes with blueberries, sausage and egg, or French Toast with same, etc. And we loved the hot tub -- just the ticket after a day of hiking. Would definitely return!

The Lindenwood Inn was an amazing destination for our weekend getaway to Maine. It was a quiet seaside location, only 20min drive from Bar Harbor. The homemade breakfast was AMAZING. The historic home was beautifully maintained to preserve many of it's original details while also having many modern comforts as well as a heated pool and hot tub. The staff was very welcoming and easy to chat with. I would highly recommend staying there!

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay at Lindenwood Inn. We were fortunate to stay in Room #5 which had gorgeous natural light, a lovely view of the harbor from the private porch, a wonderful soft king-size bed, and an updated spacious bathroom. The careful attention given to the modern interior decorating and furnishings make this charming classic inn unique and fun. The breakfast was delicious and filled us before we left each morning for nearby hikes in the park. We also enjoyed the hot tub after our walk and found the fireplace in the common area a perfect place to relax and write postcards. We also really appreciated the warmth and friendliness of Milan and Beth who oversaw our stay. It is apparent that they love what they do and relish giving their guests a special time while respecting their guests’ privacy. We hope to return for another visit in the future!
