Screw this place! Takes copies of all my documents and says they’ll file for me and then asks for profit and loss statements and so I sent them over and then I never heard from them again. Just ditched and have not responded in weeks. Refused to call me back or email me back. What a joke. Darlene specifically.

Had a ridiculously unprofessional experience with them this year. I was given the wrong information over the phone when I asked specific questions on how i can use my receivable on my return towards my balances. I absolutely needed to know the correct information as the particular moment in time of my appointment was going to be very tight financially. And the day of my appointment they slapped someone else's folder containing their information in front of me because they couldn’t keep track of their schedule. I work in a related field so I have an idea and an expectation as to what knowing the right information means and giving it back how impactful that can be. Information and billing is basically all these people are supposed to know how to do and they couldn’t handle it. Im being generous with two stars because they have given excellent service in the past. But with rising fees and inflation my expectations have changed to. I was given an apology by the manager but it wasn’t genuine after she had insinuated that any error in giving the wrong information wasn’t there fault because they have an outside contact center. Outside call center or not when i call h&r block its their name and number im calling. Then had a 15 minute phone call with another person trying to ask for information on how to file an extension that didn’t need to be as long as it was and they were failing to understand the issue after i was given the inverse of the correct information. Now its gonna cost me more money because im gonna get hit with a late fee. Either way when i call h&r block and thats who says picks up the phone then thats who im talking to if they still say “thanks for calling h&r block”. Dosent matter if its topsham auburn or another contact center. I still expect professionalism, knowledge, and good customer service and Its them on the other end of the phone that get paid hourly or by salary to answer questions and be thorough about understanding them. And giving thorough answers. Its a service i pay good money for. And a service they make there paycheck delivering. Ive dealt with less than good customer service recently so i know what good and bad experiences look like both from a customer perspective and a professional one. This was not something i needed to deal with and was the very last thing i needed. And the very last thing i expected from them. Either way you look at it they get paid to know their craft. I deserve to expect that when i call in needing help. Not being given more issues to deal with personally.

Great place if you want your taxes screwed up and your money in limbo. Jody inn Topsham screwed up my email, emerald card account and now I'm getting the run around on my cash advance. They talk over you and charge you $38 for them to screw you completely over and refuse to make it easy to fix it or reimburse you for the extra charges for what you asked for but didn't get. Operators talk over you and don't listen at all. The person doing my taxes kwpt all but 1 piece of each of my returns and printed out 2 copies of the paperwork. I only recieced one. After being told it needed to be fixed by the end of the day and reimbursement need to be done by a couple of the operaters and people in charge at the 800 number, I go in and get threatened with police being called. Mind you there was no yelling or threats from me. Some guy just came out and instead of offering to help, threatened the police. Thanks to them screwing up had to cancel a cancer screening appointment in Massachusetts, because I needed the advance to make sure i had enough while I was there.and they wonder why you're so upset. Thanks for screwing me and my health over and not seeing the issue with my personal information not being given back to me. Hell they can lie and take your money, but don't ask for a supervisor because she can't be bothered on the weekends, but can let her agents ruin yours. I now have to wait for another appointment in Mass and hope I don't get worse and wonder if I will ever get my money, reimbursement and apology. Stay away from hrblock if you want your money. OH and found out Jody offered and charged me for the advance knowing it ended last month. Shady

We thought we would save money on paying for preparing our taxes with turbo. Thank goodness we ran into a snag with the filing prices, so we came back to H&R and the same person who did them two years ago. Not only was it a great experience, but it was cheaper!!

It was much quicker than I expected, my accountant was great! The receptionist is an idiot though, dealing with her on the phone was like pulling teeth.

I brought my mom there to do her taxes and we were told that she didn't have all her w2s, this was known because they did her taxes last year. Ok we go back and he said that he had all the w2s. I specifically asked about one form and he said he had it. Not only that he said he was going over all her w2s to make sure that he had them all. A week later mom gets another w2, the one he said he had so now we have to do an amendment then come back again after his work was checked. I wanted the amended amount sent electronically as well as the first time. There was a computer Glich waited a week for it to be sent and I had to tell him I wanted the paperwork and I'd send it myself. I called the manager for a refund but said it was both their fault. I think it was their fault and bad service and no care for the elderly. This was in Topsham, Maine office.
