A HUGE shoutout to the staff that was there Sunday Morning (3/24/24). In the aftermath of the ice storm...we were so happy that Topsham had power...and that Panera was open! Come to find out there were only 2 staff members there...they were manning the drive thru as well as the line of people at the door! What an AMAZING job! I'm sure they were stressed...but they didn't show it! They worked great together and kept the customers in line aware of the estimated times!

Out of baguette by 5pm offered to substitute different bread with soup so I went ahead and paid when I got my order they gave me chips and refused to give me bread. Staff got very aggressive and argumentative, manager simply said he would speak to his staff. No financial break offered for what we paid for. Restaurant was in shambles, garbage cans were over flowing as well as dishes. No napkins anywhere to be found.

Would give a lower score if I could son ordered bread bowl with broccoli and cheese soup through door dash and they forgot bread bowl said they can’t do anything have to contact door dash real professional you forget to put bread bowl in bag that was delivered and you pass the buck instead of making it right but this has happened 2 times before with Panera I was a restaurant manager for years and would have never handled it this way very unprofessional

Writing this review of Panera Bakery in Topsham is a pleasure! My visit was around 7:00 am and not my first time here. There were about half a dozen customers dining in when I arrived. The ordering area was empty because customers can order their meal from one of several touchscreen stations without waiting. The touchscreens were bright and well-organized. I could customize any item easily. The process was straight forward. Panera even has a free "rewards" program that is a perk. There is a large dining area with many tables, including several by their large plate glass windows. The room is partially divided by an enclosed gas fireplace which is nice. The employees seemed focused on their duties which is a plus. One of the best things about this place was just how clean and well-organized it was! The floors/carpeted areas were spotless. The counter areas were clean. And the pricing was more than reasonable. I had a bagel and coffee. They have several cavities of bagels and coffee and tea. And there's a microwave that is setup for customer use which I really appreciate since I like my bagel heated with a microwave! They'll toast yours, if you wish, and can direct them to do that right from the kiosk when you order. All in all, this place is great! There are two very slight criticisms:(1) There are no hand sanitizer dispensers which was unfortunate. Since customers use the touchscreens to order, having a nearby hand sanitizer machine nearby would have been very much appreciated.(2) As with nearly all eateries, this restaurant has music playing. The genre was some form of modern type but my main criticism is that it was just one decibel away from being too loud.If it weren't for those two easily correctable criticisms, this visit would have earned 5 stars.

This is typical of Panera locations. Good sandwiches and soups to meet your pleasure. Clean and quiet. Friendly staff, it all works for me.Parking: no shortage of spaces around the restaurant

Disappointed, they don’t open at 630. Change your hours if you’re not opening at 630.

They got my salad size wrong and the Ceasar salad with chicken had chicken lettuce and croutons...that's it. I was unimpressed. It's a Panera Bread. Hubby said his bread was good. I prefer the soup bowls here, but was just looking for something light for a late lunch.

This place is going downhill fast. Several years ago, the food quality could justify the cost, but those days are long gone. $40 for lunch for two... Just two pick two meals. One was a salad and soup, the other was soup and a sandwich. The pepperoni and chicken sandwich has 10 slices of pepperoni and about an ounce of chicken pieces. It was a sad example of corporate greed and a clear indication that Panera is beginning the downward slide to irrelevancy. I would not recommend eating here until they rethink their strategy.
