“Excellent location, well kept, friendly and responsive staff. We needed help closing one account and opening another one. Sam and Shawn were very helpful getting the admin part of the process completed for us, and we were able to take care of everything same day. Highly recommended.”
“Everything about our move was perfect. Great communication and service. Accurate/updated ETA info was particularly helpful, the movers were friendly and professional, and the inventory/estimate process was excellent.”
“I've stored with them for the past 3 years and absolutely loved the service and convenience! I will say some of my items get water damaged if I don't properly pack them and sometimes bugs get in but it's only on the tote bags I leave open and on the ground.”
“Update review:With all due respect to Steve, he has promised to refund my deposit. As he explained to me in a follow-up call, there were personal reasons (which, respecting his privacy, I shall not delve into here) for his behavior toward my situation. In summary, life is short and it's good to have a perspective on things and how we deal with them as people, as opposed to mere business transactions. Some problems start out looking big but are actually luxurious in nature. This is one of them. Store your belongings at Cumberland, live long - and prosper.”
“Accessible and courteous staff to help with questions. This storage unit is better for easier access compared to our prior storage unit (had to use an elevator).”
“My trailer was mossing got a dirty trailer to go.
Person there was very good.
Need more help though
Got me a dirty trailer .
But did not get held up because mine was missing.
100% compared to augusta.
I also recommend Gardener Uhaul.”
“I like the fact as long as the gate is open during regular business hours access is easy. Don't like the fact you have to pay extra for 24 access. I never had to elsewhere.”
“I gave 30-days’ notice of my intention to vacate my unit by today, 4/14/25. My storage unit has been cleaned out, unlocked, and swept, but I was still charged today. I called at 7:30 this morning and was told by the associate who took my call that she could see my intent to close my account in my call notes. She said a manager would reach out to me before 5pm. At 8:46:06AM, I received an email (not a phone call) that my payment had been reversed. At 8:46:23AM, I received another email indicating that I have an unpaid balance remaining. I called again, and was told again that a manager would call me. No one has called. I have no idea how long a refund is going to take — I specifically budgeted this month with the knowledge that I would have this money in my account. I chose to deal with a local company because I expected a higher standard of customer service and care. Unfortunately, I’ve had better experiences with larger companies like U-Haul and LifeStorage. It’s frustrating that Freeport Self Storage made the mistake, and I’m (literally) paying for it.
*Amending my original review to include the fact that Susan (the owner of Freeport Self Storage) did call me personally and explain the breakdown in communication that happened with her team. We had a very pleasant conversation and I feel the issue has been resolved. I appreciated her personal dedication to my situation.”
“Super simple way to store your stuff. Customer service was terrific. They were patient and explained everything very clearly for me and I was happy to have access whenever I needed. Simple code to get in and out after working hours.”
