“Absolutely amazing service.
Last month, my family unexpectedly ended up having to put down my childhood dog (KC) on the same day that my own dog (Peanut) was in for a scheduled minor surgery (biopsy on a paw pad). When we found KC down, we knew that her own vet was too far away for her to be able to make it without causing her more pain, so I called AAH, because that's where I take my dogs and where Peanut was currently under the knife, and asked if they'd be able to see KC. They agreed and we brought her in. As soon as we got there they took us right back to a room and got a tech and a vet in to examine her quickly. When she had an accident, they calmly and graciously helped us clean her up. They brought out warm fuzzy blankets for her to curl up in. They let us take all the time we needed before and after and treated her and us with the upmost respect and empathy. Since Peanut was coming out of anesthesia and awake, they even asked if we wanted Peanut brought into the room to be present to say goodbye, and were completely understanding about taking Peanut and my other dog out back to the kennels after it became obvious that Peanut was still to out of it to understand what was happening. Before this, AAH was my dogs vet because they came highly recommended, but I didn't necessarily feel loyalty to them. After how wonderfully they treated my family in this difficult moment, they have earned my loyalty.
Also, the surgeon did a great job on Peanut's biopsy. It healed up complication free and with minimal pain and swelling, and they did a great job with managing the bit of pain she did have. It ended up just being a cyst, but I'm glad we decided to do the procedure anyway just to be sure. Especially since it healed up so well.”

“First off, the staff was amazing. Very kind and knowledgeable, made the whole stressful process a lot easier. I only have a few gripes with my experience;
When I arrived home with my cat, the e-collar they sent her home in was tied on MUCH too tight, you should be able to put two full fingers between the collar and her neck, and I was barely able to get my pinky under. There wasn’t enough stretched gauze to untie it and I had to cut it off of her. Which I think greatly added to her post-op stress. Trying to get that off and get her into her surgery suit was a nightmare (we have multiple very affectionate cats that would groom her wounds with just the cone)
Secondly, I received a text from the clinic telling me that my cat has fleas, which is not true… I even ran a comb over her and found nothing. And when I went to pick her up I seemed like the only person who wasn’t walking out with the $90 recommended flea/tick treatment… I understand needing the extra money as a small community clinic doing the work you do, which is amazing. But, it makes more sense to ask for a small donation from each customer (like buying a can of cat food for the cats they’re trying to home or something like that)
Overall, her incision looks great and she seems fine now that the tight collar is off.”
