I visited this pharmacy today for my Covid, RSV and flu shots. The hard-working pharmacist and her two assistants saw me at the appointed time and were polite, friendly, and efficient. They don't have an easy job. This was an altogether positive experience for me, different from what reviewers found a year or two ago.

I would like to personally thank Sarah in the pharmacy for ensuring I got my medication on time, I called several times through out the day to check on the situation and Sarah never once made me feel like a burden and got my situation resolved promptly. Thank you so so much!!

I went in to get my passport photo taken, only to be told by the guy at the counter “Not today, we just had a huge shipment come in and everyone’s focused on that. Come back tomorrow, we usually have two guys working it, just not today, but don’t worry, no apt needed”I went to CVS in Freeport and had the entire process taken care of in under 10 minutes and she was the only person working. Will not return here for anything.

This pharmacy has always been better than the Maine Street Brunswick option until today. Erika, the pharmacist, is perhaps the most impolite, inept, and immature individual I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.I received a notification on Thursday of last week that my prescription was ready for pickup and would be held for 5 days. I wasn’t able to pick up the prescription on Thursday afternoon or a Friday because I was out of state on business. Saturday’s and Sundays they are closed and Monday was a federal holiday, so Tuesday I went in to pick up my meds. Out of the 5 days they would hold my meds they were closed two of this days. When I arrived the pharmacist Erika, claimed that I waited too long to pick up my meds and that they had already been reshelved. I showed her I didn’t receive notification until Thursday that it was ready and they are closed on weekends so I really picked up the meds as soon as I was able to. She insisted that the meds had been filled prior to Thursday and that I was in the wrong for not coming in sooner. Now she would have to refill the prescription and I would have to pay a larger copay because of it being the new year. On top of that I would have to come back again because I now had to pick up my daughter from school. When I voiced my concerns that she was insinuating the fault was mine even though I had evidence of the 5 day notification and that her demeanor was very condescending, she told me that if I didn’t leave she would call the police. She quite literally lost all composure and went from 0-60; going from having a civil conversation to becoming emotionally unstable she threw me off guard to the point where I actually chuckled because I couldn’t believe she was acting that unstable. No pharmacist who has access to controlled medications and is making life or death calculations for patient medications should be as emotionally unstable as Erika is. I am truly concerned about her ability to make rational decisions and at this point do not trust that she won’t “accidentally” mis-fill my medication or that of another patient due to her unstable emotional health. Walgreens should seriously consider evaluating her access to controlled medications, her access to sensitive client information, and her right to fill medications for clients, whom Walgreens is liable for.

I recently had surgery for a torn rotator cuff. Two weeks post op, Walgreens started playing games with me regarding my pain medication. I couldn’t have the medication because they need to speak to my doctor. I had my doctor call then returned. Now I can’t have it because it’s too soon since my last prescription. I can pick it up Thursday. I returned on Thursday and they said my doctor rescinded my prescription, I would need to get a new one. Walgreens is closed on weekends due to staffing issues. I had medication called in on Friday and they didn’t have time to fill it until Monday even though it was called it at 1:10 PM. They close at 7 PM. It was frustrating and only 2 weeks post op I was still in a lot of pain. At this point I had gone three days without pain medication. To say it was a bad weekend would be an understatement. I assumed the problem was a red tape communication issue between my doctor, my insurance company, and Walgreens. Finally, having gone five days without any pain medication, I made an emergency appointment with my doctor to discuss my medication needs. Come to find out the problem was totally with Walgreens. My doctor told me they were second guessing her at every turn. They would not fill the original prescription she had sent, and would not allow me to have more than three days worth of pain medication at any one time. Once I receive that medication I was not allowed to refill the prescription for seven days. This meant that I would have to go four days without pain medication. My doctor was not happy being told by a pharmacy what she could and could not prescribe for her patient and recommended I switch pharmacy’s. Gladly! I did so and have not had a problem sense.

What an awful experience. We were shopping for an item, couldn't find it at other, nicer stores in the area, so we looking online and found the item we were looking for at Walgreens, and the website said it was in stock. Lucky usSo, we went there to grab it, went into the store, and found what we thought was the item we were looking for. At checkout, the item we had rang up $20 more than what the website said. The cashier said the item must not be out yet, and she couldn't give us the item at checkout for the lower price unless she had manager approval. We told her we didn't want this at the lower price. We just wanted the item from the back and we'd be fine. She said she didn't know where it could be and didn't know how long it would take her to find it. The other cashier up front was a little rude to us at that point. We decided to leave, but in the parking lot, we checked the website again and sure enough it still showed as in store, but we noticed it was also available for online ordering and curb side pickup. We placed an order, waited in the car for half an hour until it said it was ready for pickup, then when they brought it out, we discovered that when they substitute, you still pay the original amount because we got the more expensive version for the lesser cost- all because they didn't want to take time to find it for us when we first visited the store.

So I got a notification from Walgreens telling me I only had 5 days to pick up a prescription that they couldn't fill previously due to an insurance issue and now the pharmacy has been closed for 2 days and no one will answer the phone it just goes to automated let me get you someone who can help you message and then they hang up on you or direct you to a voicemail that you know you will never get a call back on Not helpful at all when you are trying to reach the actual store And I wondered why my dentist did not want to call in my prescription to this Walgreens because they said they were really sketchy so I ended up picking up a prescription at a Hannaford because my dentist refused to call in my request to Walgreens in Topsham not looking good for you Walgreens I am not impressed and I am guessing they have a staffing issue two days now I've been trying to pick up this prescription and the people that work there won't even answer the phone I really wonder if anybody works there or is it all automated vending machines now

The absolute worst pharmacy ever. Ever since Walgreens bought out this location, it went from being the best to being the worst. The last five consecutive times I've needed to get medication, it was not ready for pickup. Even medications that are not classified as controlled substances aren't ready for pickup no matter how far in advance I call in.The fifth time, they tried to place the blame on me for not answering my phone when I was waiting by it for two hours for them to return my call & didn't receive any calls at all.My medications are absolutely critical, & I can't afford the lost time & money having to constantly argue with staff. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Pretty irresponsible to have open hours stated online but are not actually open on the weekends re pharmacy. Medication isn’t something to be so lax on. Fix your online hours please.

I don't write negative reviews ANYWHERE unless it was a 99% horrid experience. I would like to point out from the beginning I didn't provoke this woman nor am I the type who behaves like some privileged snot. I am one of the most mellow and even keeled. I fully understand we all have bad days, maybe someone is going through cancer, suffers from depression...Though, this so called manager BONNIE at the Topsham location has to be the most consistent with piss poor customer service I have ever met.Her attitude is scary, off-putting, and down right the definition of unprofessional. If you want to experience the worst Walgreens has to offer. Look no further than your local Topsham Walgreens and ask for Bonnie. I am sure she will be angry enough to give you a bad day also.

Horrible horrible horrible. I’ve been on hold with them for over an hour each time, and have yet to get through to what I need! If you actually need life saving medication, you’re better off not calling and just going in. Which I’m sure would be terrible too. Lmao

Do you like being called by Walgreens, told to call back, being put on hold for 30 minutes total over 3 separate redirects, and then finally being hung up on when you actually get to the line you're supposed to? Great! This is the Walgreens for you!Walgreens automated phone system is truly terrible and if there were any other options for vaccines, I would use that gladly.
