Our experience with Peace and Unity Pet Services was nothing short of lifesaving. Our pup, Marlo, was extremely anxious, reactive to strangers, and exhibited some dangerous biting behavior. We felt truly hopeless that we’d ever be able to figure out how to help him, after trying several other avenues, we spent months “trapped” in our home, no longer able to have guests over or go on adventures. Chelsea and Phelan changed Marlo’s life. He spent 4 weeks with them, and emerged a different dog. He no longer reacts to strangers in public, he follows commands, he walks calmly without incident, we can bring people into our home, and most importantly he is a much calmer and happier dog. His humans also received plenty of training too, Chelsea was patient with us as we learned how to be better leaders, and how to implement and maintain all of our new skills. They continue to be a resource for all of our questions as life happens. Marlo also came home with other life skills; basic commands, obedience, grooming and vet visit skills. Our lives are immeasurably better because of our investment in PUPS.

Chelsea and Phelan have been taking care of our dogs for at least 10 years and they are the absolute best. They began with our Newfoundland/Saint Bernard and they were not at all worried about his immense size. When we came home from a trip he would look around for them! He felt loved and cared for, it was just so obvious. When we lost him, and eventually welcomed our new Husky/Newfoundland in, they were incredibly supportive. This puppy had some serious energy and we knew right away to introduce him to PUPS! He started there at about 6 months and it was so amazing…. They were able to reach him and help him calm his nerves down. Two weeks later we took home a greatly refined puppy. Since then he has gone back to PUPS for some refreshers and some boarding and it is always such a relief to know he is so well loved with them. He has A LOT of energy and really LOVES the treadmill now too. So while we walk him outside a lot, it is great that we can meet his exercise needs inside too. We have learned so much about how he thinks and why he sometimes responds like he does. The knowledge, care and expertise C & P have is just incredible. They offer videos to help with issues and it is just so unbelievable how he responds to them. They are part of our “family” now. 🐾❤️🐾 - OH, and we have had friends introduce their new puppies to PUPS and they feel the same. I just hope they don’t get too busy to fit us in! :) If you are on the fence about training your dog with PUPS, I seriously think it is the kindest thing you can do for them and for you and know you won’t regret it.

In early April, we brought home an eight-week-old sheepadoodle puppy. Although we had previously raised and socialized two dogs without major issues, this experience proved to be very different. Our new dog quickly became extremely reactive—barking at everyone and everything, chasing after cars, trucks, bicycles, and anything that moved. Managing her reactivity soon became a significant challenge, especially for me. Over time, even our neighbors started avoiding us when they saw me walking her. Encounters on the street often ended in chaos: she would lunge, growl, bark, and pull me along, making walks stressful and unsafe for all involved.
We enrolled her in a local adolescent dog training class, but it was a discouraging experience. Despite my love for her, I began to worry seriously about our safety. Tearfully, I started to consider the possibility of re-homing her. As a last resort, I researched board-and-train programs and learned about Peace & Unity Pet Services from a friend of my daughter's. After reviewing their website, I completed the enrollment forms.
When Winnie turned five months old in early July, I spoke with Chelsea Barry Co-Owner of PUPs. I described our struggles, and Chelsea listened thoughtfully, asked numerous questions, provided valuable information, and suggested we consider their three-week “Save My Dog” program. At first, I hesitated—three weeks seemed too long for such a young puppy. We discussed alternatives like the five-day or two-week programs, and I initially chose the five-day option starting in November, supplemented by two private sessions in September and October.
However, as Winnie's behavior worsened, I reached out to Chelsea in September to request the two-week program, and by October I asked if Winnie could stay for the full three weeks. Those three weeks were transformative. Chelsea sent frequent updates and videos showing Winnie's progress, and it was clear she was thriving. During a midpoint visit, similar to a “parent’s weekend,” we learned what Winnie had accomplished and how to support her continued growth at home. We realized that for Winnie to change, we needed to adjust our own behaviors as well.
Now that Winnie is back with us, she remains calm around passing cars, sits and looks at me during walks, and ignores people, other dogs, cats, even squirrels. The change is remarkable—not only in our dog but in our family. Thanks to Chelsea and Phelan, I have a newfound confidence in Winnie that I never thought possible. She truly is a different dog, and words cannot express how grateful we are for Phelan and Chelsea’s help. If you have a reactive dog, these ARE the people to take your pup to. It was hard to be away from her for 3-weeks – but it really is what saved our dog.

I wish I’d known about PUPs over a year ago. It was a year of frustration, despair and the heartbreaking realization that it wasn’t safe for me to keep her. She’s big, strong and extremely exuberant. I’m small, weak, old and experienced many falls associated with her behavior. We took many classes together, but we failed at recall, leash manners, and especially greetings. I barely recognized the dog I picked up from Chelsea. We’ve had wonderful walks together. No pulling on the leash or bolting suddenly off the path. With the assurance that she will come when I call her, I’ve been able to let her run freely and get the exercise she needs. Chelsea spent a lot of time training me, so I left there with confidence. Chelsea sent videos of Glory’s progress and I was delighted to see that she was happy. Glory is pleased with her new skills and I am extremely grateful to PUPs for making her a safe, well behaved friend.

Peace & Unity Pet Services (PUPS) has been a prayer answered for both our dogs. Lucky & Betty were much loved but woefully untrained—not in any dangerous way; however, they did not understand what we wanted of them. After two weeks with PUPS, our pups are happy, obedient and a true pleasure to have home. They seem to understand that they are now doing what we want/need and they’re much happier for it. They’ve mastered Heel, Come, Sit, Break and we’re getting close on Place, Down and Out. It’s a pleasure to walk them—no more pulling—and they no longer jump on people. We humans are getting comfortable with the stimulation collars and have rarely had to use them above the single digits. We view the collars as a good means of communication with the dogs and we’re learning we no longer have to raise our voices or get frustrated. We highly recommend PUPS and look forward to returning when and/or if needed. Both Chelsea and Phelan Barry clearly understand training and, more importantly, the pups adore them. If you want excellent results and dogs that are happy, well behaved and healthy, you’ll be very satisfied with PUPS. Five Stars!

We adopted an adult dog, Yogi, from an unknown background. He was so timid and skittish, every little noise or sudden movement and he would want to hide or remove himself. He had no basic commands, didn't even understand his name. He is not food driven or toy motivated (pretty sure he never saw a toy in his life) so helping him understand his place in our house and basic training was proving difficult. We tried 5 months on our own, not a lick of progress was made. Fast forward just 2 weeks with Chelsea and Phelan, Yogi is a different dog! He has more confidence, is trusting more and makes good choices now. He takes his commands like he was born knowing them. What has been even more beneficial is the training of us, now we understand how to communicate with him seamlessly. It wouldn't work if only Yogi got training. Having open lines of communication with the trainers, follow up and ability to reach out with questions anytime is so helpful and above the rest. We are so happy he is able to trust and relax and just be happy in our little family.

Chelsea and her Peace and Unity Pet Services (PUPS) did wonders for our dog, Izzy. She entered her two-week’s training with all kinds of puppy bad habits. Going on pleasant walks or playing ball were not in the picture. Now she heels nicely on our daily walks, chases and retrieves a ball, obeys all the critical commands, and seems very happy to understand and do what is expected of her. We recently brought her on an overnight with some friends and she was the model of decorum. (She’s even been invited back.) Thank you, Chelsea and Phelan!

Chelsea is amazing! Our dog Simon did the 2-week board and train program, mainly because he pulled on the leash a lot and loved eating things off the ground. Walking him now is a completely different experience! He stays right next to us, and although he can still get distracted sometimes, we now have the tools and knowledge to get his attention back. He's also doing so well at leaving things alone on the ground!
I was a little worried that training might change his personality, but he's still the same goofy, fun dog—just with much better manners.

We can’t say enough good things about PUPS and the owner, Chelsea! Our dog, Archie, completed the 4-week board and train program, and the results have been amazing. Before training, he was very focused on guarding our house and reactive in general at home towards people he doesn’t know that well. He's now so much more relaxed and well-behaved. He no longer barks at the door when people pull in the driveway or come up to the door. We've even had workers at the house on ladders and in the windows, and he's remained calm even with them making loud noises and moving around quite a bit.
Beyond that, we’ve seen incredible improvements in other areas, too. Before training, we couldn’t clip his nails, but now we can without any struggle. He also used to get “stuck” in doorways, hesitant to move through them, and now he moves freely without issue. His responsiveness to commands has drastically improved—he listens immediately and holds commands until released, rather than immediately releasing himself.
The entire process was professional, supportive, and tailored to Archie’s needs. We felt confident that he was in great hands, and the communication throughout was fantastic. Not only did they work wonders with Archie, but they also provided us with helpful resources and guidance so we know exactly what to do moving forward to maintain his progress and be successful.
We truly appreciate all the hard work and dedication that went into Archie’s training. If you’re on the fence about getting help with your dog, we highly recommend PUPS—it’s been a game-changer for us!

Taking my dog to Peace and Unity was the best thing I could have done for Jova. She is so much more confident in places ahe isn’t used to and it gave me the tools to correct her when she does make a bad decision. I would recommend them to anyone who needed trainers!

Taking our sweet lil pup to Chelsea and Phelan was the best thing we have done. Not only did they help him with his behavior and confidence, they taught us as his owners the best way to continue to have success with his overall well-being and happiness! We are so thankful for their training , insight and the proper tools to help us and Oliver be the best that we can be!!
If any of you out there are struggling with what to do next to make your household with your pets a more cohesive pleasant space I would highly encourage you to connect with PEACE & UNITY PET SERVICES.
Thank you so much for all you have done for our little guy! It has brought us peace and unity!

I cannot express how grateful I am for PUPS! Our 11-month-old pitbull, Sasha, was out of control, mouthing, nipping, and causing chaos in our home. We were constantly dealing with fresh cuts and bruises, and she even damaged our walls. After trying several sessions with another trainer, we were told she might need anxiety medication and that her behavior could be permanent.
I was feeling desperate and defeated, and then I discovered PUPS. I reached out and received a prompt, understanding response from Chelsea, who was eager to help Sasha. During our initial private session, she recommended the three-week board and train program and introduced us to balanced training techniques. The difference was remarkable! After just the first day, we gained invaluable knowledge and tools to help Sasha regain control over her behaviors.
The transformation after her training was astounding. Sasha is now a well-behaved dog, and my heart is so full of pride and happiness. The education, love, and attention that Chelsea and Phelan provided were exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend PUPS to anyone struggling with their dog's behavior!

We highly recommend Chelsea & PUPS for anyone who needs some extra help with their dogs! We brought our first dog, George, to a private training session when he joined our family three years ago and learned so many helpful techniques for leash control and reactivity. Honestly, we were pretty lax with keeping up on a training regimen and accepted many of his “minor” problem behaviors. We added a second dog, Ginny, to our family last year, and after a lot of chaos (and some scuffles ?), we knew it was time to get serious about enforcing structure and expectations to lead to a more peaceful coexistence for all of us - especially since we are expecting a baby in December!
George and Ginny attended the 14-day Give Me Peace & Unity Board and Train program together and the results have been so impressive and reassuring. We were amazed by the progress they made in two weeks and feel so much relief in knowing that we have the tools and knowledge we need to continue building on the foundation set by PUPS.
Chelsea was so patient, informative, knowledgable, and professional throughout the entire process. We are so grateful for the time and dedication she put into our dogs. ❤️
