Rideout's Lodge & Cottages is a little gem in the Maine wilderness, offering a peaceful, quiet, and secluded location right on East Grand Lake. The cozy, comfortable, and fully furnished cabins are a stone’s throw from the water and equipped with everything needed for a stay, including fully equipped kitchens, all linens, and comfortable beds with screened-in porches. The owners and hosts are fantastic, very nice, helpful, and kind, bending over backwards for guests and handling any disturbances calmly and respectfully. The experience is wonderful and never disappoints, with spectacular salmon and bass fishing. The property features a 200-foot dock with power and about one dozen modern, well-maintained Lund rental boats at a reasonable price, plus free kayaking. Guests enjoy the sublime scenery, perfect sunrises, warm lake, and the sound of loons singing. While there is nothing to eat nearby, making it best to shop beforehand, the stay itself is a fantastic experience and a step back in time to simpler days. Many guests return annually and find it a wonderful vacation, a little piece of paradise they cannot wait to revisit.
