When Red's has a line down the street (which is 90% of the time), going to Sprague's is a no brainer. Their food is incredibly reasonably priced and offers exactly what you would expect. The lobster dinner is truly a great price for what you get! I love sitting out on the deck and watching the seagulls on the water. The area also includes a very sweet little stand in which you can buy jams and other canned goods, as well as a small little building with some information on the history of the area. The staff is friendly and personable, and truly makes the atmosphere comfortable and authentically "Maine". It is truly family business -- the type that I love to support. Just know that it is cash/check only and there is an ATM on site.

This is a no-fuss, outdoor, order-at-the-window type place offering lobster, lobster rolls, chowder, and casual food where you sit at picnic tables and pick up your food when your number is called. We went back twice and loved it! Had twin lobsters and chowder without the fuss or added expense of being in a restaurant, and it was our most enjoyable place to eat. I would probably go there every day if I were in the area!

This is our favorite lobster spot in downeast Maine! They not only have amazing lobster rolls, but they also have delicious chowder, the option for a full lobster dinner with steamers, corn on the cob, and coleslaw. They even have ice cream, milkshakes, and coffee drinks. All this is enjoyed at a picnic table on a pier with beautiful views of the Sheepscot River. For the quintessential taste of Maine, Sprague's has it all. ?

Perfect roadside stop for the freshest catch! The lobster roll was perfect, with choice of butter or Mayo (or both) and the steamers were also very clean and tasty. Didn’t wait too long in line (Oct 1st around 4:30pm) but it is cash only so be aware! The staff is awesome, food is great, and seating with a view overlooking the water can’t be beat! Worth it!

Cash only lobster shack on the pier. It caught our eye as we were waiting in the long line for Reds Lobster across the street. We ended up going to Spragues when we realized the line for Reds was probably going to take 1+ hours. Spragues had no line and food came out quickly. The lobster roll was good & there was plenty of seating. We also got a side of fried string beans which was interesting - not sure I would get those again.

We were driving through on a road trip and happened upon this gem! The owners were so hospitable & patient with us southerners as we ordered. We had clam chowder & steamed lobsters. It was just the best on their sunny dock cracking into a big ole Maine mudbug!

Beautiful location right on the water. Lobster roll ($33) came overstuffed with lobster meat on a toasted roll. The wait was a bit long but we got to witness a fight between the Spragues worker who steams the lobsters (lobster guy) and the older man who runs the jams & jellies (jam man) shack right next to Spragues so it was like lunch and a show. Apparently Jam Man orders his food from Spragues and doesn't like to wait too long and may have been a little curt with Lobster Guy and Lobster Guy is fed up with Jam Man and let the world know. Lots of yelling and f-bombs and a lot of 'I'm sick of your sh*t" being yelled by Lobster Guy. This was in the presence of families with kids. My 8 yr old wanted to know why Lobster Guy kept saying the f-word. We kind of felt bad for Jam Man. Not a great look for the Lobster Guy.
