Incredible store, especially if you’re someone like me who loves to learn!
Jamie, who I believe is the owner/manager, is unbelievably passionate and knowledgeable about fish and saltwater aquariums, and is one of the friendliest people I’ve come across in a store.
My first time in the store, I was looking to get an aquarium and a clownfish for my girlfriend, however, I quickly learned that saltwater aquariums have quite a steep learning curve.
There are many things to know about saltwater aquariums before you can properly care for them, which can take people MONTHS to learn by themselves. Jamie managed to teach me the basics within 3 days while I returned each time for more supplies, and he did so with a smile on his face. I’m now confident in my setup, as well as the knowledge that I have going forwards with my saltwater aquarium.
Workers as compassionate and knowledgeable as Jamie are few and far between, and it would be a mistake for you to take your business elsewhere. I’ve been to every pet store in Brandon and I can confidently say that you won’t get half of Best West’s service anywhere else in town.
It’s also worth noting that the new employee, Mariska, is very nice and won’t hesitate to help you.
I’d give this place 6/5 stars if I could

Terrible experience at this store
I was at the store today with my daughter who is only 3 years old she was watching fish and she touched the fish tank glass as she thought she could pet them but suddenly the guy yelled at her and said don’t touch the glass because you’re going to kill them by scaring them!! He is very mean and raised his voice and my daughter cried because she scared.

Usually have a good experience here, the male worker has been pretty friendly and let me and my daughters look at some fish and admire them whenever we went there. But the two female workers at the front, sure kept their eyes on us and even told us not to touch the tanks, which were btw, pretty filthy. [I had only touched it to show my daughter where the fish was.] Didnt feel comfortable after that. Well. Wont be returning because i felt like we were dealing with a couple of mean girls and my daughters didnt need to experience that.

I usually have no problem with this store but they had a used bag of cat litter that was taped and cut open for sale we bought it not knowing until we got home

Honestly had a really good experience there dude knew exactly what we needed and have info on the dog food then proceeded to blow my mind with there fish tanks 5/5 would recommend!

Decent variety but hit or miss experience depending which staff member you talk to and what side of the bed they woke up on I guess.. Very congested and hard to walk around comfortably.

Not a bad place but it's time they moved into a bigger building as it's quite congested with products all over the place. The manager is great to deal with and she's very nice to talk with and very helpful.
