I wouldn't stay here. I didn't stay there. I told the front desk person that I simply couldn't stay. He refused to credit me the cost of the room which I had reserved through Expedia. I was so put-off and in such a hurry to leave the room I didn't think to take any pics of it.
I do not have a high bar for the quality of the hotels/motels I stay at. Most motels I stay at while traveling are 40-50 years old...with the decor to match. I don't care how it looks since I only sleep a few hours and then hit the road again very early...usually before sunrise. My only criteria is clean sheets and a clean bathroom.
That said, Vivian Motor Hotel could not even meet my most basic criteria for safety and cleanliness. This is the first time I have written a negative review. I simply have to warn people about this place. Based on my experience, I definitely do not recommend this establishment.
UPDATE: I applied to Visa for a refund of the cost of the reservation I didn't use. They approved it after reviewing my experience.
Rooms: The room was disgusting. There was a double bed with a fitted bottom sheet but no cover sheet. What was on top was a thin, ragged, years old comforter. The night table was a thrown-together piece of wood. The carpet was disgusting. The bathroom was very small and did not appear to be clean.
Safety: This is a downtown hotel. On entering, all I could smell was bug spray. The hall carpets are filthy. I got the distinct impression that this was the local flop house.

Haven't stayed here myself. My partner was staying here on business and as they were putting their belongings into their vehicle, the doors locked behind them...... at 10:00 in the morning on a Sunday...... nobody answering the phone, nobody to open/unlock the front main entrance...... if this is the norm for this place, the least yall could do is warn your customers about it..... if it's not the norm, then whom ever let this happen should be spoken to about this..... to me this is absolutely unacceptable.... I would give negative stars if I could....

Good Value, bare bones hotel, but kinda sketchy. No dryer, microwave, shampoo, extra blanket or iron. But surprisingly decent bed and carpet in room in decent shape. We always try to find the best priced accomodations available. We are used to finding nasty carpet and lumpy, saggy beds so this was an improvement on many. The hallway was one of the worst we have seen though - very, very run down and there were mattresses in the hall. However, the room was okay and the town reasonably quiet. The fridge had a bit of goo in it but overall cleanliness was okay. Staff very kindly lent us their own cutlery when we forgot ours at home which was much appreciated.Cons: the hallway (as mentioned), we froze because the bedding was just a sheet and ultralight coverlet, there's no one manning front desk and no number to call!! So we found ourself just sitting on stairs waiting to be able to get back out cash deposits to leave.

My room key opened at least one other door in the floor. Room 16 key opened Room 11. That was pretty concerning. No secondary lock either. Ended up barricading door, just in case. Beer vendor was loud, could definitely hear that until 1am or so. Showerhead was impossible to adjust to a comfortable temperature and pressure sucked.

I returned some bottles. There was a nice lady at the front desk while helped me to sort them and processed my refund at which point I walked through a door into the hottest bar in Neepawa...got a shot of jager and a redbull...crushed both; then stood in the smoking area, vaping and talking to the locals until it was time to leave.And then....
