Called this store last Thursday to ask about a watch battery replacement. A very friendly young lady answered the phone and said I was in luck, their watch maker was in that day and that it would be 20.00 and I could just wait. Went down and a very unfriendly lady told me I was misinformed and would have to leave it, their watch maker was to busy. Then told me I would also have to replace the case back seal and that would be extra. Left and went to City Jewellers at polo park. Super friendly and replaced the battery while I waited and as I suspected said the case back seal was like new and did not require replacement. Can't say that I'd ever go back to Appelts. Two stars because whoever answered the phone was awesome.

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience over here. I was applying for financing concerned it would be a hard check. Unfortunately Josh from Appelts diamond on ness was 100% confirmed and sure that it would be a soft check. Low and behold, I check my credit score and it was a hard check. Now I have to dispute with their financial company and the credit bureau to remove this check. I will not be visiting any Appelts location and will find a honest and trustworthy associate who is more knowledgeable in their field and can lend a better helping hand.

Recently had the wonderful experience with Dodgie to design my now fiancé's engagement, wedding band, and a mini version for our 7 year old. Dodgie himself is a 10 star, from start to finish he was extremely patient and insightful with me and my silly questions and ideas. However he managed to encapsulate my ramblings into an absolutely perfect set of rings. The first drawing he showed me was perfect but seeing the completed rings blew my mind. Easy to work with, and extremely good at his craft. Would recommend him to everyone. The 4 stars is because I booked my appointment online through the appelts site which I guess doesn't mesh up with his personal schedule so I couldn't actually see him the day I had scheduled but luckily another member there was able to help! The employees are fantastic, the website thing needs work. Thanks again Dodgie!

Appelts Diamond made my whole experience one to remember ! They made everything very simple and easy to work with. They listened to everything I was wanting to propose to my Fiancè. After discovering that the engagement ring my husband gave me years ago was damaged, we tried searching for different solutions, but never felt satisfied with anyone's suggestions. From the first moment we spoke to Josh he understood the sentimental value of our original ring’s design. Josh was able to help my husband create an almost exact duplicate for us to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Josh truly listened to what we wanted and the end result was a ring we both love! Dodgie Dator is the man! I had an idea of what my girl wanted for an engagement ring, based on asking her questions and listening, I was able to work with Dodgie to design the exact ring she wanted. He is an artist! Dodgie provided me with a concept sketch for my idea and then I was convinced he was my designer. Dodgie provided great communication and updates. He even let me know when there was a sale happening. Then we proceeded with the ring.
After that I saw the finished product…. Mr Dator took my proposal to the next level with exactly the style that my girl described to me as her type of ring.
He is extremely professional and accommodating. Dodgie graciously spent time after time with me until I knew exactly what I wanted. He is incredibly nice to deal with as well.
The final product was insane and my fiancée loves it!!! I am going back to him for our wedding bands next! Salamat Pre

Originally I wasn't going to leave a review as my initial experience wasn't great at this location, but I chalked it up to a one off scenario and maybe both sides just caught bad days. I ended up purchasing from the Regent location instead, and post purchase realized there was a reason the interaction felt off.
I went in looking for an engagement ring and spoke to the store manager, Kate. I found a ring that I absolutely loved, and we talked about the price of the setting and the diamond. While we were in store, she told me that the stock ring we looked at had a .5 carat diamond.
Kate followed up through email with the pricing of a .75 carat and a 1.0 carat diamond. When I told her we would be probably be looking at .5 carat (the same that was in the stock ring) or possibly a bit bigger with the .75 carat, she said the stock ring they had in store was a .75 carat, and we shouldn't do anything smaller than that, as it "would look lost in such an ornate ring". With her putting this in writing, I felt that it must be the correct size.
Other reasons lead me to purchase the ring at the Regent location (which I won't go into detail on that here) using the diamond size I was told was in the stock ring at Ness (.75 carat). Once I recieved the ring, I realized how much taller and bigger the diamond looked in the setting. I called the Ness location and had inquired about the diamond size in their stock ring, over the phone they told me that the setting they had in store fit a .32-.38 carat diamond, half the size I was told.
I'm not sure if this was just a mistake through their end with misinformation on the diamond size, or if this was a way to upsell me to get me to spend more. But if this was information error, there was zero reason why they didn't double check the size of the diamond in the stock ring when I said she had previously told me it was .5 carat (which is apparently still bigger than what was actually in store).
I will not return to Ness as even if this was a mistake, it was an easily avoidable one. The interaction felt dishonest and soured the experience of purchasing an engagement ring. If the ring setting was in fact a .32-.38 carat diamond, I would have gotten the .5 carat diamond and still gotten something slightly bigger and been happy. I paid more money than intended for a bigger diamond that I didn't really want or need. Not to mention the stress that goes along with all of this.
Thankfully the Regent location has been great with this whole ordeal and has been very accommodating.

My experience at Appelts was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked in the entire staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Dodgie was able to guide my boyfriend and I to find the perfect ring. Josh was also excellent. I would highly recommend Appelts to anyone. The process could not have been better.

Morgan and Kate have been wonderful to work with!
After having some issues early on with a wiggly oval diamond, they suggested I move to a gallery rail, ordered in different heads/baskets to come see in person before making the change, provided images and feedback via email to ensure we were confident in our decision, and the revised ring with gallery rail has been solid in place ever since.
We recently purchased wedding bands with Appelts Ness as their service and warranty has been great with the engagement ring.
We are always greeted, served promptly and leaving satisfied with our decision to buy here!

Appelt's Diamonds in Morden booked an appointment for me with their jewelry designer, Dodgie, whose studio is at the Ness location in Winnipeg. In advance of the meeting, Dodgie contacted me to discuss the piece I had in mind, asking thoughtful questions about my needs and design intentions. When we met, there was instant collaboration and ease with clarifying and refining the design. The process was intuitive, relaxing and fun, a truly joyful experience bringing to life, on his tablet, a unique and personal pendant destined for my beloved granddaughter.
A few short weeks later, Dodgie contacted me to let me know the piece was ready; I was brought to tears when I saw the final product. Dodgie captured the essence of exactly what this piece represents. The craftsmanship is exquisite. The detail and quality is masterful.
I would hand over my most treasured jewelry design to Dodgie, and indeed I did. He is gifted, genuine, and a pleasure to work with.
