Edit* I still stand firm with my personal review of choices that your employees purchase, and to say for me to go to 'your sister's' is very inappropriate lol I will not be taking your suggestion. I even found a piece of clothing that had a security tag on it from another store I thought you guys don't purchase clothing that has security tags on them ?This place is so expensive for second-hand clothes and they have ugly choices they're mostly George Mickey mouse and no name. I highly do not recommend coming here

In this place you can bring your used or unused clothings, shoes and sell for them. They buy for cheap $4-$5 if your stuff is in a pristine condition. Sometimes they will choose only one or two things from many items. It's your choice to donate or sell.

Opposite of my normal shopping experience. Everything fits because it's worn in and doesn't stretch and I end up with too many good options!

Had an item on hold from their Instagram, and even had my sister put it on hold for the following day to make sure it was still there when I was able to make it in. When I go to the store to pick up, was told they put it out on the floor and didn’t know where it was (probably sold). Confusing and frustrating considering it was supposed to be held until the end of the day that I came in on. Wouldn’t recommend dealing with them again

Dropped a few bags off here today to be looked at, the girls working were all very lovely and friendly! Was able to drop off and come back when notified via text. Great experience, keep up the great work!

previous plato’s worker here (from another location)!!!!My boyfriend and I finally got around to visiting the winnipeg locations. We follow their instagram and saw that they were currently advertising that they needed menswear. He brought in a bag full (guess, adidas, band tee’s) all purchased within the last 1-2 years. I was honestly shocked how many items they took.A pattern I noticed in these reviews was that EVERYONE says “they only took the items i bought 5 years ago that were ugly”. And that was true for us as well. You are advertising you need men’s wear, don’t take it, and take his faded band shirt? The selection at this store was terrible too, the racks were empty and picked through. The items I did see shouldn’t have entered the store. Please take my criticism as a way to improve your business! Clearly the staff have outdated style taste as many reviewers have pointed it out. The other location took it ALL so the clothes couldn’t have been that terrible. I’m just overall disappointed as someone who was apart of the plato’s family :(

Very quick service time, if Regent/Nairn location won't take in clothes, try this location, staff is very friendly and always up for conversation. Highly recommended!

It is a big and good store, everything is available in it, such as: clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, toys, etc., the prices are cheaper than other stores, it has branches all over the city and has a return policy.

I’ve worked for Plato’s (different location) before so I kinda know what they’re looking for. I brought in multiple pairs of barely-worn levis, all bought within the last year. They bought a dress I got online 5 years ago, none of the levis or men’s clothing I brought (also mint condition and bought within the last year, nice volcom button ups). I asked about the levis out of curiosity and she said they’re stepping away from skinny jeans. And like, I know, none of them were skinny jeans, they were wide-legged and bought in the last year. Newer labels, I know the label system too and y’all usually don’t buy old ones but did buy an old pair Ardene jeans.Saw lots of shein on the racks and gotta say I’m disappointed.Kinda confusing. No issues with the staff- they’re fine, just gotta say the Plato’s system has gone downhill.

This store is always Hit and Miss, just like most second-hand stores. They had a good selection for men's wear the last time I was there. I managed to pick up a nice pair of joggers i was there. Wish they had more for kids.As for dropping off clothes, don't bother! Platos will very RARELY take items unless it is a highly sought after item in good condition of course! Even then, unless you are dead set on getting rid of it, don't. You won't get your money back for it.

Honestly it used to be good, but I wish they cared about style and quality rather than name. Over half the stuff there has stains or is from shein and other super cheap retailers that people gave because it was probably terribly made and won’t feel comfortable on anyone. I almost always have better luck at regular thrift stores.

Until recently, Plato's had become our primary go-to for new clothes. As with most thrift shops, the quality of the selection is a bit of a dice roll, but I've gotten some great staple items over the years. That being said, I can't say we have much love for the Polo location anymore. Miserable, monotonous, dead eyed kids who bad mouth customers at the counter and complain about having to work there. It's embarrassing, it's uncomfortable, and it makes the business look bad.I've been in customer service for years. Retail, reception, food service, you name it. I want so badly to be forgiving because I know what it's like to be behind a counter, but I don't think this is acceptable anymore. For every great team member, there's three others who don't deserve to be there. It doesn't matter how polite you are, or what hour of the day you go, there's no getting around having to deal with the abysmal attitude of the staff. If we ever go back, it'll be to Nairn. Bad vibes all around, dude ?? Do better.

They don't offer very much cash for bringing in nice items. The in-store shopping experience is basically 2nd-hand fast fashion. I find nicer clothes thrifting. That said, the staff are nice and store is fairly organized. Also appreciate change rooms, which are closed at most other 2nd hand places/thrift stores

Good service and friendly staff. You can likely sell your items for more on Facebook marketplace if they are lululemon, aritzia, and other sought after brands. I wouldn't recommend selling those brands here as you will get very little $ for them. But for other clothes or brands you can't seem to sell or you don't want to donate and are ok with making only a few bucks an item, this is the place!
