Tried to make a donation.
Was told yo go around back.
Walked. Thru the icy subzero weather, carrying it, only to encounter a sign saying, "no donations accepted. " Took my stuff to Goodwill.

I've been going here for years now and I'm always impressed with the prices as well as the overwhelming kindness of the staff. I went in just yesterday for a fur coat and one of the lady's there went out of her way to help me find one. They are a true second hand store where the proceeds go towards helping those struggling with addiction, and so when I can, I try and donate a few coins :) overall this is one of the best thrifts in Winnipeg with the kindest people inside.

I had a mixed experience at the store. The ladies working the front were lovely and provided great service. However, while browsing through the DVDs, I encountered some issues. Several cases were empty, and others were scratched. This wasn't a big problem as I understand they were donated items.
However, my experience soured when the male staff member accused me of stealing DVDs. I was merely checking them for scratches, which can affect playback quality. He insinuated that scratches don't matter, which isn't true in my experience.
Overall, the store is nice, but the attitude of the male staff member towards customers checking DVDs needs improvement. I do not like being accused of stealing or hearing him complain about thieves

When I walked into this store the blonde cashier with heavy makeup gave me a dirty look. It honestly was such bad service I didn’t want to buy anything. When I was getting cashed out for my shirt that I was buying, she didn’t say a word. It was a cute and organized store but never again.

Like any thrift store, it's pretty hit and miss, but you never know what you are going to find. I've certainly found some gems here. The prices are here are really good, however. Much better than Value Village or Salvation Army. The people working at this shop are very pleasant and friendly. Worth checking out.

Neat shop. I've enjoyed donating items and shopping there since they moved onto McLeod. From the folks receiving your donations, to those on the retail floor, there's a sense that they have a stake in the business. The store seems very well organized, and always tidy. The visual merchandising, using slatwall, tables, and some repurposed home furniture, is very nicely done with great attention to colour, style, and detail in general. I've donated to other charitable organizations in the past, and will likely do so in the future as well, but with Prairie Crocus I know the proceeds are used locally.
