“I've been going here for years now and I'm always impressed with the prices as well as the overwhelming kindness of the staff. I went in just yesterday for a fur coat and one of the lady's there went out of her way to help me find one. They are a true second hand store where the proceeds go towards helping those struggling with addiction, and so when I can, I try and donate a few coins :) overall this is one of the best thrifts in Winnipeg with the kindest people inside.”
“Perfect place for wonderful shopping!!!
The store has a great variety of stylish clothes, good quality, and reasonable prices. The staff was helpful and polite. I really enjoyed shopping here and would recommend”
“this is truly a gem of a shop!! i've donated here a couple times a year since i've been living in winnipeg. lovely staff, and a nostalgic environment ?
however there appears to be a real theft problem, while i was in today there was a woman who the staff said was a repeat offender... shoving things in her coat and denying when asked if it was her who came in and caused trouble prior. the sweet older ladies who run this place don't deserve that! mentally, i was between either smacking this scumbag into next tuesday or just offering to pay for what she was taking. too bad they couldn't have a younger male worker during the day to help prevent these types of things...
either way, please support this business!! their prices are very good and the money goes to patient treatment at HSC. we need more shops like this here in winnipeg ?”

“Really nice lady works here, was very helpful and knew exactly where I could find the things I was looking for. I'll definitely be back again, if I'm looking for good quality second hand stuff! Items guaranteed to work, but they give you a week to test them and return it they don't.”

“STANDOUT. Inventory is impeccably maintained—women’s blouses are even grouped by shade. Thanks to the shop’s small size and clearly curated selection, everything on the racks feels hand-picked for quality. Items are second-hand, but nothing appears threadbare or overly worn.
Found a pristine 100% wool 1960's Evan-Picone blazer for $10 (!!!!)
Prices are considerably lower than at larger chain second-hand stores, and all proceeds go to the Children’s Hospital. The volunteer staff were charming, attentive, and clearly take pride in both the store and the cause it supports. Their attention to detail and above-and-beyond customer service is ????”
“The 1 Star reviews are a bit dramatic. These people need to grade based on the positives and negatives combined. It’s very thoughtfully sorted. Decent prices compared to others. Lots of variety. Tons of kids toys and books. The counter line just needs a better line system otherwise it’s worth the far trip for us to shop there.”
“What a hidden gem. Great selection, great conversation and very reasonable prices. It was a day out with my mom, the staff there are so kind and sweet. Picked up some real finds. Best of all the warmth of the women there made my mom so happy!Thank you! We will be back!”
“I like the staff, I like how socially-conscious the organization is and the community they serve. They are a force for good in this world. It's a small shop but curiously they have a lot of great clothes, mostly women's. However I have found some very economical nice clothes for men there as well.”
“There prices are very reasonable and anyone that says otherwise… clearly doesn’t go to VV/SA or even GW now! It’s organized thoughtfully. I will only donate here. I always find something we need. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.”
“I have to agree that prices are getting too high, even if you have a coupon, but it is a for profit business with a nominal amount going to charity. You can still find some deals, though not as much as previously. Store is well lighted and staff are for the most part friendly. Happy thrifting.”
“Love this place but I find prices are more than the St. James location with less appealing options. Dressing room girls always understanding and accommodating when I bring in a bizzion options and end up only taking a couple items”
“Great place to explore.
Staff was super friendly and willing to listen to me babble at the check out.
They even taught me to put my pants around my neck to see if they'll fit!
Bless them”
“Lots to choose from. Great sales! Donation coupons. Seniors Day on Tuesday 30%off.
Some items are way overpriced. The general talk in the thrifting community is similar to my opinion.”
“Value Village on Ellice Ave is a great place to shop if you’re looking for affordable clothing, accessories, and household items. They have a wide variety of secondhand goods, and it’s easy to find unique pieces and good deals if you take your time browsing. The store is generally organized, but during busy times the aisles can get a bit cluttered and some sections become messy. Still, the selection and pricing make it worthwhile. The checkout process is smooth, and staff are reasonably helpful. Overall, a solid thrift shopping experience with plenty of variety and value.”
“Found the items I was looking for. However prices are still high. I understand it's inflation, but Value Village used to be for the ones who are less fortunate. For prices to be equivalent to their original prices, is unacceptable.”
“Really great little thrift shop. We found some really fantastic stuff for very reasonable prices. The only downside was the inaccessibility of their change room as some repulsive animal took a poop in it... Limited the items we purchased as there are no refunds. But seriously, who does something like that?? SMH Really made me feel for the employees. ??
Employees were super friendly and helpful.”
