Wonderful & insightful owner. Very generous, fair & knowledgeable about the pieces & stories behind them. All things eclectic, uncommon, hand worked, period pieces, furniture, planters, glass, metal, mirror, wood, chalkware, stone, fabric, exotic other world, etc. Surprised at the size & scope of the shop. Reasonably priced. Not your average shop where you have to sift thru junk just to find common stuff. Everything is priced, organized, clean & displayed. Clearly takes pride in his business. You NEED to check out this hidden gem ASAP! So many neat & interesting items. I could spend all afternoon in here!

I really enjoyed my experience in this charming store and meeting its owner, Carl. I purchased two amazing converted lampshades with an interesting history dating back to the 30s. I proudly hang them as ceiling lights in my foyer and office. With a young child and new puppy, I don't always get to enjoy such beautiful decor, but I think they look great even in a foyer filled with dog leashes and children's toys. I had my eye on a few other beautiful things and will surely visit again soon.

When I'm considering buying or selling fine items, one of the most important factors in the decision process is "trust". I want to know that the person I'm dealing with is knowledgeable, fair, interested in building a long-term relationship, and has integrity. I'm happy to say that Carl Ihli is a person I trust. I visited Bon Vivant last week to explore options for selling a set of sterling silver flatware. I knew I could sell it for its scrap value, but hoped to do better than that. Carl wound up giving me a tutorial on how to use eBay to establish a fair price, and how best to list the pieces to achieve the highest potential sale. He explained the consignment option offered by his shop. Then he weighed all of the silver, and shared several websites that would enable me to check the silver's scrap value on a daily basis. Based on Carl's information and advice, I listed the silverware on eBay. I have every confidence that I will receive 60%-70% more than if I had listed it without his counsel. Carl didn't immediately benefit from sharing his expertise and his time. But as several friends had assured me, Carl has a reputation for building relationships that span many years and life experiences. I look forward to visiting Bon Vivant when I'm looking for a gift or a unique item for our home.

Great little antique and consignment shop in Annapolis. Go check out Carl and his exquisite offerings. Tip: there's a basement full of items as well.

Lovely little antique place. They have high quality, interesting and rare antiques but also more common and less expensive pieces as well. Of course, they also have smaller items (jewelry, etc.) as well. The porcelain pieces are amazing and different. The owner is wonderful and enjoys engaging with his customers. Worth a look; and don't worry, it won't take long...the store is smaller but packed with treasures. And the other reviewer who posted about the dogs...what a ridiculous reason to give the store fewer stars. Italian greyhounds are small (about 20 lbs. at most) and they were very friendly. And this place does not smell like dogs. Another silly thing to say.

Very nice selection. The owners wife is very chatty and slow to ring you out. If you are in a hurry, you need to let her know. The quality of the items is excellent, however, and this is worth a stop, particularly if you like jewelry and vintage silver items.

This place is great. They have good stuff without the junk. You get what you pay for, so it's not bargain basement prices. The owner knows his stuff, so they manage to have unique items without the clutter of things only your grandmother would buy. Their dogs are great and always happy to greet you, but in a calm way. They are small, so I'm not sure what the other review was talking about.

Antiques are the history of our lives and reusing old things or repurposing them as we like to say these days not only adds character but also helps recycle all of the shtuff that we just can't bear to part with. There's a sign above the entranceway about recycling. My kinda thinking right here. I'm sure there were many neat things in this little store but I didn't stay long because I made a comment how the barking dogs in the back wanted to say hi. I was just being chatty but the guy took it as an opportunity to let out the two Italian Greyhounds. They are not small dogs and it made me nervous because I don't know how they run around without breaking all of the fragile things in the store. I'm not a big fan because it makes the place smell like doggies but the two other ladies there were in love and went to play and pet them. That was my opportunity to make a beeline for the door.
