Historic Annapolis, Inc. offers an amazing atmosphere in a walkable historic district. The area features many original 18th-century structures, well-maintained and often brightly painted, ranging from homes and hotels to churches, with distinctive plaques throughout. It feels like a friendly small town where everyone is friendly. Visitors can explore great shops and restaurants, with many interesting options at the dockside, including the state's oldest operating pub. There is lots of window shopping. The area is close to the USNA and the bay, providing a nice afternoon to feel like one in colonial America, though it is definitely touristy. Activities include visiting the State House, the City Dock area, and taking cruises. Parking could be an issue, as affordable parking is limited and requires using an online app, which is not very straightforward but manageable. Parking structures are available for a much higher price. It is recommended to start walking early to avoid the heat. There is more to do and see, with history on every street.
What’s not to love about Annapolis? Maryland’s capitol city is the best.

Amazing atmosphere. Great shops and restaurants. Affordable parking could be an issue, but there are parking structures available for a much higher price.

Tourists love visiting Annapolis but the locals should do the same. We visited the State House, the City Dock area, had a cruise on the Harbor Queen and enjoyed ice cream at Annapolis Ice Cream Co. There's more to do and see. I'm looking forward to the Phantom Tour in the future and staying in one the historic inns.
