Hi! On my visit to HomeGoods, in Annapolis MD, I was critically disrespected, racially profiled and down right belittled. Might as well add that the three female employees verbally harassed and in a sense, took turns laughing and brushing me off. While shopping, I picked up three paintings. Two smaller pieces priced at $10 and one extra large piece, listed WITH A RED TAG at $8.00. Upon ringing at the register, the first dark-skinned employee with a bedtime scarf on her head, laughed and told me that I would in fact not get the painting for $8. I then added that I have no idea why I wouldn’t, as the price is listed clear as day with NO OTHER price tag on the painting at all. In marker there is 49-100 written on one of the wooden panels on the back. A second employee, a light-skinned black woman, with multi-colored braids and extra gelled down frontal hairs, came to the register, actively starting to scratch the red $8 sticker off. While scratching the ticket off, she kept telling me different codes (mind you I’m not an employee there) and how she won’t sell me the painting. As I’m calmly and respectfully telling her, that I would like a manager & I’m unaware of what she’s talking about, she continues to over talk me, raise her tone & tries to argue with me. I’m literally a very happy person, still in a happy mood & awaiting for the supervisor. A white, older woman with dirty blonde hair, styled in a bun, comes to the storefront. I tell her my current experience and she literally stops me and says “it is what it is, we’re not changing it”. Since the initial visit to the store, not once have me (or my husband) received a proper greeting, any assistance or assurance with anything, all while noticing everyone else (other customers) were greeted, helped and even politely spoken to. To clarify, I am a 30 y/o black women accompanied by my tall, mid sized black husband. Yes, we are aware that this is Annapolis and we all know (or should) how black people have been and continue to get racially discriminated, disrespected and laughed upon. Especially, in this county. Lastly, I am very upset that I actually spent my money on the two smaller paintings, as this store doesn’t deserve a dime from my household. Furthermore, I have called and reported my experience to corporate (email and phone) and will also do the same on Google, Yelp, etc. Truly sad, as I really loved HomeGoods. Still do actually, just not feeling the treatment from said employees in Annapolis MD. Karma is infinitive. Mea Culpa, as I’ve should’ve known better than to shop at this particular location.

Visited this store earlier this week and witnessed 2 managers, a white male and black female being unnecessarily rude to a young woman customer and talking down at her. Very bad taste. Big thumbs down.

This location is quite limited in terms of higher end/high quality merchandise. The pickings are always slim. I would skip this location if you are looking for furniture. This is a good location for smaller items such as candles, pillows, certain kitchen ware. The customer service is substandard. I shop at night due to my schedule. They close at 9:30 pm and at 9:20 pm, they have the audacity to make an announcement that registers close at 9:25 pm. Really? And the worse part is they get VERY aggressive with you if it is 9:20 - 9:25 pm and you are still in the store. Someone in upper management needs to send a mystery shopper to this location so that you can see first hand how out of control things are at this location around this time frame. Totally unacceptable attitude and behavior in particular from the management staff!!!

The guy at the register was on his phone while he was ringing me up. I could see his whole screen… instagram and texting. Like what? When has this ever been ok?

The store has SOME nice finds, some months are definitely better than others. June and July are the off months for places like HomeGoods, a lot of picked over things and not a lot of new inventory.-Take a good LOOK at the items in the clearance section, there is a REASON why it's there, they don't care if it's broke or anything, it's going in the clearance…-I find the summer things to be too cheesy sometimes and prefer to shop in the spring/fall/winter months.-Haven't used the bathrooms to check if they are clean, but they do have bathrooms here, and it's next to a busy pizza shop and juice smoothie place.

I am a frequent shopper at various Homegoods locations. This location is smaller than others but the Managers and staff work very hard keeping the merchandise nicely displayed and organized.

While I love Homegoods, I am sorely disappointed in the Annapolis store and suggest people shop at HomeSense. I was looking for a glass for my bathroom. After much searching, I found one on the clearance shelf. The price had been ripped off and there was no other like it in the store. There was a glass that was solid, smoked glass and very heavy. It had a clearance tag of $10.00. The glass I wanted was very light and had strips of reflected glass positioned in a pattern on the outside on the bottom of the glass. Again, there was no price tag. The selection I wanted was much lighter and cheaper in quality. The manager was extremely rude and abrupt, she said that my selection was a Martha Stewart glass and it was at least $10.00. Still there was no tag or markings anywhere on the glass.. Meanwhile, I bought a heavy ceramic container for my coffee that was seven times the size for $7.99. When I told the manager this, she blew me off, disregarded my opinion, and said "yup" in an extremely sarcastic voice and walked away. She put my selection back on the shelf. Imagine, HomeGoods not only lost a sale, but the Annapolis store lost a customer. The Crofton store manager goes above and beyond for their customers. I suggest shopping there.

Best in town, very stocked, kind cashiers. Parking lot could use a remodel.
