I've been going to this pharmacy for years and had a miss understanding with the pharmacist. Even though I was totally in the wrong. She was very patient to explain in detail the issue with my prescription. My physician told me one thing and wrote out a different prescription which caused a problem that should have never happened. I have changed my physicians and want to apologize to the pharmacist who was nice enough to understand.

I’ve had nothing but positive timely interactions with this pharmacy. Everyone there is very experienced and can handle most issues thrown at them. Great pharmacy.

I have been using this Pharmacy for probably over a decade by now. The pharmacists here genuinely want to help you get your medication and not overpay for it. When my insurance lapsed but I still required my seizure medication, the pharmacist Emmanuel found a discount card that brought the cost down from over $300 to $30. I use their app to request refills and every single time, no matter what, the medication is ready the next day if not the same day. I usually get my seizure medication, my birth control, and ad hoc medications from my doctors and they have always been quick with it. Do your due diligence to ensure they can do their job and I promise you won't spend more than five minutes at the window. Bring your insurance card every single time (although after the first time it will likely be in the system already), request more refills every year from your doctor to last a year (or however long until your next appointment), know your copay, and ask them to refill it before you need it. I moved 30 minutes away and I still use this pharmacy. I even get my flu shots and my covid boosters here and I have never had any issue getting them. They also can mail your medication to your door and if you're okay with waiting 2-3 business days, its free. Just make sure to give them a call if you're requesting this since their system sometimes doesn't notify them that someone requested this. Overall, I cannot recommend this pharmacy enough. They work hard to get medications out and have exceeded my expectations every time.

Unless you absolutely have to use Safeway Pharmacy, take your prescriptions elsewhere. Aside from Noreen, nobody else has any idea what's going on. I get texts when my prescriptions are ready for pickup, and less than half the time are they actually ready when I arrive (sometimes even the next day, too!). Many, many times I am also told that they do not even have a prescription on file that needs to be filled (after I have already gotten the 'it's ready' confirmation text). It is extremely frustrating to me that this has become a dreaded monthly occurrence. They're also rude when you try to explain that one should be ready and that you got the confirmation text. Don't waste your time with that pharmacy.

Be cautious when ordering Starbucks at Arnold Safeway. Just watched the young lady blow her nose and go up inside with a finger from each hand and proceed to make drinks. I said something to the young man and he said something to her to wash her hands and she ignored him and went about making drinks and touching everything. I left and informed the manager as well.

Part of being a military family for us, means moving every three years. Adapting to a new home, doctors, dentists and of course, pharmacists. USNA is a unique type of duty station for us, because beneficiaries aren’t always able to be assigned to the naval clinic/pharmacy. I chose this Safeway as a pharmacy because it is literally a two minute walk from my house, and I guess you can say I’ve stuck with this pharmacy because of location.Every month I DREAD having to call in my Rx. From the start (3 years ago) the woman that answers the phones and initiates the drop off, has questioned everything about my Rx. Including asking me when my last appointment was, and if I thought my meds really made a difference in my life. There’s always a problem “finding” my Rx refills in their system, except for the rare times the male pharmacist answers the phone, funny, he never has an issue “finding” it. This month they were out of my meds. On Saturday I was told to check back on Tuesday and on Tuesday I was told to check back on Wednesday after 3. On Wednesday the problem was now that there is an issue with the distributor having back order problems, which is totally understandable. However, when I asked her when it would be in she said, I don’t know. So, I asked her if I could get the name brand instead of the generic out of stock one. She became very annoyed and abruptly said no. I asked why not and she said your insurance doesn’t cover name brand to which I said, it does because that is what the Naval pharmacy fills when I go there. She said no. So, then I said well, how much would it be if I just pay out of pocket for the brand name. She said no, you can’t do that! I asked why not and she said I would need another Rx from my dr, which does not make sense because I don’t think my dr has ever specified generic or name brand before. Well, at this point I must’ve reached my maximum number of questions, she scolded me and said I will just have to wait until mid October because she wasn’t going to break the auditing rules- ummmmm, what!? I never asked her to!I feel bad for the other employees that have to work with these two women, and I especially feel bad for the people that have no other choice but to use this place. I sincerely hope the pharmacy staff can get people with more empathy and professionalism.

The main pharmacist was beyond disrespectful. There was a prescription given to me I did not consent too, and the pharmacist forced me to purchase a product I didn’t need because she already filled it. That’s perfectly ok with me and I understand this is a problem on my doctors end, though they way it was handled was beyond disrespectful. Used a very condescending tone as well as used disrespect words. Very unpleasant and unprofessional experience was treated with aggression and anger for no warranted reason. Will be switching pharmacies now
