Coffee is decent, but don't expect standard service here. The time it takes for you to get what you paid is never consistent. If there's a line, expect to wait awhile, since there's no protocol on getting drinks/food/orders in and out. If their buddies come in, expect them to take their orders first and push yours to the back. Unprofessional and it seems to only have gotten worse since they first opened.

Used this place for years, it's located in the library plus they're open late and there's not a lot of options on campus for quick food and coffee. I've had quite a few poor customer service experiences here, staff seems confused and untrained. Feels like they are left to their own devices because rules regarding when the smoothie machine or hot food is available changed almost every time I came, prices too. I see open food sitting around in these little bins sometimes. It makes me wonder because one night I had stomach issues from eating biryani they microwaved for me.. but it had been sitting out on this shelf thing for who knows how long. Hence the one star rating, I don't eat there anymore. Avoid the food. Coffee drinks are reasonably priced and good depending on who makes it. Staff alternates between really nice and accommodating to downright aggressive and abrupt. There's another one of these cafes in the nearby chemistry building, I greatly preferred it for a while, then this intense older blonde lady made it impossible to continue going there. Avoid her. Another weird thing after reading the other reviews I can't believe other people noticed the owner's Asian fetish too. I would see him during the day (bearded old white dude) and he's suspiciously nice to young Asian girls, cold to everyone else. Staff told me he's married with kids and everyone talks about how creepy it is... that's pretty messed up. Just throw the whole place in the trash. Wish I had other options other than to leave campus but I need coffee.

microwaved food and a mouse problem at the location in Mudd hall. Owner is an unsociable troll who is obviously only nice to young pretty female Asian students (dude is an obvious creep, even wore a traditional Chinese suit on Halloween wtf) If you're not that then expect to be cold shoulder. So many better options on campus. idky people pay the hefty price for microwave garbage. Also the location on Mudd hall isn't better. Service is slow there and they have a lady working there who is an absolute witch. avoid her and let the guy ring you up if possible. just avoid this establishment if possible unless you're that desperate..

Arrived here around 7:30 and as soon as I stepped in i faced a cashier yelling "we are not open." Even though yelp and on the door it says they open at 7am. I also don't understand the need to yell at customer first thing in the morning. Later when I got back the same cashier was still quite rude. She was staring at me and would not say anything when I ordered or say thank you to acknowledge and managed to yell once more when the card reader was not working "take your card out and put it in again". Such manner first thing in the morning is just disheartening. I hope she becomes a happier person and more professional to not dump her personal issues on people who are just trying to buy from the business. The other employees here are all quite insociable and just star at you or roll their eyes if you pause while ordering. I feel like i need to please them in order for them to do their job without being rude and frustrated at me. These are all just evident that the employer is not keeping their employees happy and they naturally dump their emotional frustration on poor students. Thanks JHU or whoever that owns this shop!!! In terms of food and coffee: the blue berry bagels is good and coffee's are your average coffee you would get in any average coffee shops (burned bad quality coffee but very cheap). The location is very convenient but honestly I won't come here again just because of the bad customer and people experience here. I don't think this business should be supported.

This is the cafe in the Brody Learning Commons, part of the MSE Library at the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus. During the semester, it's pretty busy all day with students. As with any cafe, the baked goodies are overpriced, but hits the spot when desperation strikes. Various pre-made sandwiches around $6 are available in the fridge. Coffee prices pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. I appreciate they use compostable paper cups.
