The store is cool. I personally wouldn’t buy fruit from here though, it seems like it goes bad like 2 days after you purchase it. The only thing I hate about this store is their deli department. If the person doesn’t have an attitude, they’re closing whenever they seek fit just because!

Paula. What can I say. I'm all the way in Frederick and my brother tells me this lady always treats him super kind and helpful, something that's extremely extremely hard to find these days. He says that the store was really crowded and he couldn't find a particular item. Ms Paula took the time to notice and then help my brother. She does her job with a smile. He said that Denise, the floor mgr usually assists him as well. These two ladies should really get a raise, they understand and are performing their jobs for your company in a respectful and extremely helpful way...which is very rare these days

This week was my first and last time going to this store. The only reason I went here, is because my mother insisted that we try a new market for a change. After reading reviews, I already knew the bag situation was going to be a problem. So much of a problem that when it came time to ring my purchases up, I said to the cashier, "How are we suppose to bag our items up if you guys take our bags at the front door?" The cashier was gracious enough to suggest I get my bags while she rang up the items and when I come back, she'll bag my things up for me. Very sweet of her.The store and the food left more to be desired though. Upon entering there was a strong smell of fish and it wasn't a inviting or fresh smell either. Flies were having a field day throughout the store, shelves and fridges need a deep cleaning/wipe down and the prices are absolutely ridiculous. Our first stop in the store was the fruit/vegetable section, once I saw the white fuzz on the strawberries and other produce just sitting out going bad, I was ready to get out of there. I'm sure it's convenient for a lot of people, especially those who live in the area but this store needs to do better in many aspects.ETA: March 21st I decided to open the jar of Smuckers Apricot preserves that I purchased from Food Depot, only to be greeted with fuzz and mold. Luckily it was at the top and not where it couldn't be seen. Be careful when shopping here, because clearly this store doesn't care about the quality of their food and health risks.

They assume everyone who comes in the store is stealing. U cant walk around with your bags that u have to bring due to them not providing free bags anymore. When buying seafood its a zoo back there no organization and its always one guy who takes his time.

Smells horrible upon entering the doors. The meats smells and look bad. Very over priced on certain things. I am not a big shopper of Food Depot because of that horrible smell. Upon entering any grocery store there should not be a bad odor. That means it's time for the Health Department to step in and evaluate the issues.

Please be careful with the meats and seafood. It is bad. The first time I went to return the crab legs and because they was about to close they didn’t want to deal with it and asked me to come back in the morning I had to open the bag up so she can smell how bad I was.. at that point she asked someone to dispose of it outside.. next time I went both the chicken and crabs was bad… they trying to send ppl to the hospital. Please smell your meats and seafood before buying. The customer service there sucks as well.

Well, all I can say is don't attempt to take your shopping bags into this store, if you do apparently you have to check them in to be held until after you finish shopping. I was chased down by a security officer shortly after entering the store who just kept pointing at my bags, because I couldn't understand what he was saying. A clerk came and explained their now new procedure for shopping in their store. I left and will not shop here again. I should not be harassed because they can't control their shoplifting issues. Their loss. I went to another grocery store and spent a considerable amount. My suggestion is don't shop here unless you have too. Extremely poor business practices in my opinion.

Back in the day there was a store called Super Fresh here before Food Depot replaced it. Anyway, my mom shopped @ Food Depot Frederick Ave all the time and so did I before I moved to NE Baltimore. Been back a few times since then when visiting a friend. Store mostly stays very clean & organized.Majority of employees are friendly & helpful. Very large selection. Prices are up (as with everywhere else due to inflation) but still decent savings. You kinda really should get there around certain times of the week or month to find everything in stock & for the freshest.Deli is cool and I love their seafood esp steamed crabs but they been slipping lately sort of up & down since Covid as far as quality. There are Hacks in case you need a ride home mostly the same 1's which is good re: safety.Security does have you check your bags there due to so much shoplifting; I wouldn't go in with any big huge bags. Depending upon the time of the Month you WILL see ppl loitering about and this is an inner city area but I've never had any problems; ...however I grew up in the hoods of Baltimore so I'm not shaky about certain areas or people (although B-More has Changed A LOT) so just be Aware & Observant as you can. Other stores, Fam $, KFC, etc. located here it's like a little mini strip mall dive. Food Depot's not bad.✌️

Well I found a new place to go grocery shopping and it's not in West Baltimore it happens to be in catonsville and this place really showed me that the Food Depot prices are really overwhelming if you're on a fixed income do you not want to go to Food Depot they have become rude the manager Mike is short-tempered and he does not know how to communicate with his customer

The store is pretty clean, and the workers are usually friendly. But they have so many people just loitering outside. Their prices aren't that good. And the selection is fresh produce is terrible.

I was refused service because I presented the cashier a roll of quarters and she said it was against policy to count them. The groceries were put back on the shelf
