DO NOT USE MY STATE TO STAR MOVERS.. They charged more upon pickup. Balance is due upon pickup n cash and now I know why. One of the arms on my living room chairs was broken in two. From that point on Christian disappeared . Manny told me to get 2 estimates, which I did and that was the last I heard from them.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

I originally started working with Christian Overbi
[email protected] . All was good up until the delivery. The additional cost was most likely due to my inaccurate estimate of how much to move but it cost A LOT ($500) more. Manny came for the pickup in Philadelphia, the contents were delivered to Raleigh and upon delivery an arm of a was broken off and the wood splintered. After sending pictures, an estimate and several phone calls no one has gotten back to me. BE WARE of State to State Movers. They require cash or a certified check. Once paid you're essentially screwed. They will not get back to you if there is damage. They are not BBB rated. STAY AWAY State To State Movers 3310 Hollins Ferry Rd Baltimore, MD 21227

My girlfriend used this company to move from Gaithersburg, MD to NYC. The professionalism, accountability, and moral compass of this “business†is downright unethical and disgusting. They arrived 5 days late to the agreed arrival time, and gave unclear communication up until their appearance. Once there, they claimed they couldn't get a couch, the last item, through the doorway. After this claim, they demanded $100 because the move was “uniqueâ€; I suppose because they had to go up a couple flights of stairs, that prompted them to expect extra. When she denied them the $100, they left the couch outside, on the sidewalk, in the middle of NYC, for her to move by herself into the apartment lobby. On the company website, they emphasize their oath to “professionalism†does this seem professional? I hope that anyone who thinks about using this “companyâ€, reads this review and thinks otherwise. They are a scam and a disgrace to business ethics.

An absolute scam, Christian gave a quote, obviously used fake reviews. When they arrived they wanted more money. I was doing a move across country was flying out days later so went ahead. Paid most of fee upfront. I was told it would take 4-8 days. I moved into my apartment with a carry on bag and 2 cats. I phoned the Dispatch Manny every week the story was always the same. I will get back to you! He never did when he said he would and the location of the truck changed constantly. I had to purchase clothing, something to sleep on etc etc cost me more than a few $100's. It took from the end of June to August 27th when eventually they gave the delivery to another moving company! That cost more money; I paid because I was desperate. The condition of my furniture and boxes was appalling they had been completely squashed by piling heavier items on top. This is just not right I cannot believe these people can get away with this. How are they still in business?? I did report them to the FMCSA I don't know if it did any good? I have moved countries many times and this without doubt was one of the worst and most stressful times of my life!!

Awful customer service. Changed price and wanted more money up front once the truck was loaded. No answer to phone calls. Cristian was a sort of broker and doesn't communicate with drivers. Manning who is supposed to have communication with drivers doesn't call back and is rude. Still 25 days later have no idea where my stuff is or when it will be delivered. Can't get an answer and just get messages to call back in a few days. Awful experience. Do not hire this company as movers! Warning! Totally unprofessional and seems to be a scam!

This company is highly deceptive! Do NOT use their services- They will quote one price and demand 3x's the amount after they have loaded all of your things. They will also require CASH payment on delivery or hold your property hostage- If they provide a binding quote- they are legally required to honor that quote- WARNING again they are deceptive and will scam you. Be forewarned!!

Doubled amount of agreed upon quote at day of service. Refused to answer calls and emails. Became hostile over the phone at time of delivery, which arrived a week late with no communication on why items had not been delivered on scheduled date.

After Christian showed me a government review site I gave them a chance. They showed up 12 days late with many broken items and no one will answer my calls . Absolutely a scam . Will add more as I find the damage

I filled out an online form for a move estimate so that I could give my company an accurate amount for my relocation expenses. Chris from State to State Movers was the first person to respond with phone # (974) 440-8139. He called first but I couldn't talk on the phone so he texted me immediately. Here is how the conversation went. Chris: Call me later. I have a truck going to TN in July. My price will be half the other movers. Me: What's the rate? Chris: Text me a list of furniture Me: (Texts list of furniture) Chris: $1200 Me: That's not half of what other movers quoted. Chris: $1100 - that's definitely the cheapest though. lol. Me: You over promised. Have a good day. Chris: F*ck you So, from just this very first interaction and reading the other YELP reviews, I definitely would NOT recommend these movers. Chris lacks professionalism and I can already tell he will not deliver on what he promises.

Terrible company! Bid low so we'd go with them. Were supposed 11 AM but arrived after midnight the next day to move us out! Then they wanted to charge triple the price. We told them to leave, and called to get the deposit back. Christian didn't even know they team didn't pick up our stuff, and he hung up on us right away!!

Awful company! Committed to showing up at 11AM on Saturday and didn't show up until after midnight the next day!!! Then they wanted to charge triple the price to haul our stuff. We told them to leave. When we called Christian to get the deposit back, he didn't even know they hadn't picked up our stuff, and hung up on us as soon as he heard that. Now he won't answer the phone and we are fighting to get our deposit back.
