For transparency, this haircut was in February of 2023. However, it continues to haunt me to this day.
This haircut. Where to to begin? I went in looking for a feminine long pixie cut. I carefully scoured the internet for pictures. I brought in images of every angle of my ideal haircut. Neal took one look at one picture and said “I get the idea.”
Neal immediately chopped off my ponytail without any fanfare. Perhaps in response to the blood running out of my face, he played a podcast recording of a radio show he was the guest on. I sat through fifteen minutes of his radio show.
He turned the chair away from the mirror and I couldn’t see the damage being done, but I was already afraid considering her brought out clippers. I prayed he had a long guard on them. God did not answer.
He spun me around and asked “Do you love it?” I almost cried. My long hair had been reduced to a terrible frat boy haircut. I felt I was prepared to play beer pong but not to leave the house.
I immediately showed my close friends and received sympathy. Even my cat did not recognize me.
I have since renounced haircuts. I only trust myself.
Avoid if you want something to look good.

Easily one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had. I came in last July for a basic trim—nothing complex—and somehow left with soap still in my hair. I specifically declined the blow-dry, thank God, because I can’t even imagine how awful my hair would’ve felt if they’d blown in all that leftover residue. The stylist talked endlessly, dragging out a trim that should’ve taken 15 minutes max. And the price? $65 without tip. For a soap-filled, chatty haircut with no finish. The whole thing felt gimmicky and superficial. I ended up going to a Paul Mitchell student salon later on —better cut, better service, and actually professional. Skip this place unless you enjoy paying premium prices for sloppy work.

If you need a great haircut come to neal’s! I forgot to write a review and am coming back months later because he truly deserves this 5 stars! I had a terrible haircut and did NOT know how to fix my hair and Neal did it for me!! Went from having a weird bowl cut to everyone complimenting how good my hair looks after our appointment! Seriously can’t thank you enough- also just a wonderful human being, lovely to talk with :)

A man answered the phone and when I asked for just a haircut, he immediately hung up. I called back two other times and he kept hanging up on me the moment he picked up the phone. Left a message and got no return call. Instead, he texted me to continue to pick a fight with me. He COULD have texted me to set up an appointment, but instead just had to be a miserable jerk. Salons in general give me so much anxiety because the fake, catty atmosphere many of them have, but was not expecting this.

This was the most positive haircut experience I have ever had. I truly felt welcome and like I could be fully myself with Neal. He listened to what I wanted and applied his expertise. He is amazing at what he does and has a beautiful energy!

I loved my experience with Neal! I came into his studio not really knowing what to do with my hair, how to style it, or what to ask for. He listened to what I was generally thinking and then offered his opinion which I graciously accepted! He is funny, friendly, and gave me an amazing haircut! I will absolutely be going back to him in the future and can’t recommend him enough! So glad I found Neal and his studio!

I am in love with the haircut I got here. John is so sweet and knew exactly what my hair needed to bring it back to life. I’m so glad I came to Neal’s, the quality cut, salon atmosphere, and good conversation is hard to come by these days. I won’t be going elsewhere for haircuts anymore! Neal knows and loves what he’s doing!! Great experience, amazing service, and fabulous hair?✨? I do have to note though that Neal has his own style and way of doing things, but always be confident in yourself and don’t be scared to stand your ground if you want something cut or styled a certain way

I was new to the area and just happened to walk by this hair salon shop where my life was changed by this charismatic, charming, HANDSOME man. He made my entire day, with his flamboyant stories about his life- his knowledge on hair styles and what looks good is just jaw dropping. I was shocked and am still shocked at this hidden gem. And he made my hair look so good! I will most definitely see him again soon:)
