Our House is in Remington Row best of everything you could ever want dining inside or out

I lived in Remington Row for three years - it's the only place I've lived in for such a long period of time besides my childhood home - so I feel like I can accurately assess what living here is really like. I moved in one week before the Covid-19 lockdown went into effect. I had to unexpectedly move out of my previous apartment after it was broken into. Remington Row was a godsend for me during this time. It was home for me in a time when the concept of "home" became even more important. I hunkered down here, adopted a cat here, changed careers here; it really became a sentimental place for me.Here's what I loved about it: - Seawall development, the company that manages this property, is great. Their staff is responsive, professional, and efficient. - Anytime I had a maintenance request or a question, concierge or the property managers were quick to act. No maintenance request ever went unanswered for more than 24 hours and I usually had someone coming by to fix the issue the very next day. - The close proximity to amazing local businesses is unbeatable. R. House, B. Willow, Cafe Los Suenos, Charmington's, Sweet 27, Mount Royal Soaps, and so many more are all within a 5 minute or less walking distance.- The common areas are really nice. The elevated courtyard is the perfect place to hang with friends, workout outside, or even grill. - The convenience of free garage parking, a secure mail room, trash chutes, and the excellent concierge staff are some things I'll always be grateful for. Here's what I didn't love about it:- The in-unit washing machines aren't great. It's a combination dryer and washer and mine needed to be serviced at least three times during my time here. It always took forever to do laundry. - The elevators broke ALL the time. At least every person living here more than a year has a story about being stuck in the elevator or being in the elevator when it did something inexplicably weird (for me, I was dropped down to the bottom floor and all the lights went out at 3am. It was awful).- The fire alarm went off falsely very very frequently. There was one month that we had five false alarms. Some of them happening at 2am, 3am, 4am, etc. I was often paranoid that eventually, there'd be an actual fire, and no one would take the alarm seriously enough to evacuate because false alarms were so common. Overall, I'd say these are the best landlords I've ever had. Despite my unit being a tight 600 sq ft, I stayed here for a long time because of the convenience of the amenities and the professionalism of the staff. My only complaints are to do with how some details like fire alarms, elevators, and washer/dryers were glossed over when the building was constructed.I'd recommend Remington Row to anyone looking for a secure, comfortable place to call home.

Lived here for two years and had a great experience! The management team is extremely professional, friendly, and quick to respond if we needed anything. By far the best management I have ever rented from. The complex and surrounding area is very well maintained. The biggest thing for us is that we felt safe in the complex and the garage parking was secure.Would highly recommend this place if your looking for places in the Remington area or the John’s Hopkins Homewood community.

Great place but the fire alarm in the building went off by mistakes for way too many times.

I live here for 2.5 years, best of the best apartment I’ve ever lived. Management works so hard to maintain the safety and cleanliness, especially during the covid 19. I feel super safe and happy to stay here. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best apartments I've lived in. I really enjoy my stay here. Very closed to the JHU Homewood campus, and the apartment location is just next to the police department. During the pandemic, the management works very hard to make sure our apartment is safe and clean. Also, the maintenance team always handles my concerns very quickly. I highly recommend staying here, as it is a very cozy and nice place!

So I don't live here, but I did consider it. You can tell it's definitely a place focused on college students as the lease that they offered me in October would only go through June or July. There's barely a lobby and it's definitely in a developing location. Just in trying to get out of the garage I had to get out of my car and find help because the voucher they gave me didn't work and that was my first time there. So overall the actual apartments were nice but in my opinion, for that price you can get a better place in a nicer location. One last thing that didn't really impress me was the gym - in general and then that it's shared with any and all of the staff in the rest of the JHH building.

I lost a surprisingly large portion of my security deposit. What landlord entity can actually claim touch-up painting and post-paint cleaning as something to charge? Buyers be forewarned. You are likely to see 300-400$ lost from your deposit for those routine items. This statement is coming from someone who has been routinely been described as the kind of tenant that adds value to the property. Yes, I lived here for six months. The worst problem we had...one night baby's room filled with generator exhaust fumes from the annual parking garage cleaning which alerted us to a potentially ongoing exhaust fume issue. While the management made some extremly clumsy steps, it could not fully resolve issues for me. While you may not be likely to experience the same indoor air quality issues. You may rely on the fact that the management is at very least taking large liberties with the turnover repairs and cleaning. FYI Management needs to be held to account. This is NOT routine in other US states. Has anyone else had this experience with the RR management?

We loved our apartment but HATED THE MANAGEMENT. Our lease was violated on several occasions by the management team. We would not get notice when they would enter our apartment. The way we would find out is by our lights and tv being on when we got home from work. When we brought this to their attention they insisted we left the lights and tv on then later apologized when we decided this might now be the place for us. Shawn Brown is incompetent and is not accountable for her lack of customer service and completion of basic job duties. The tone in her emails is very unpleasant and unprofessional. If it is possible, avoid interactions with her. It may be easy because after a while she never acknowledged my husband and I at resident events. Even after we ended our lease, we were still faced with an unprofessional exchange. This time by Morgan Wenzel. Remington owned us money at the end, but Morgan assumed me owed over $1000. Morgan’s email stated that my husband and I must “figure it” how to pay them. Once it was explained that Remington Row once again messed up, delayed us receiving our refund and her rationale for the tardiness was an absolute lie. The guys on the team attempt to make up for the short comings of the women by being approachable but the damage was already done.Overall, residents aren’t friendly and their dogs use the elevator as a toilet daily. While we were residents, the elevator(s) were down several times a month. Sometimes for days at a time. If your apartment faces Remington Ave, you’ll hear herion addict commotion randomly throughout the night, especially at 7 Eleven. On the brighter side, again we loved our apartment once inside and parking was great. Rent at your own risk!
