I called them seeking information based upon mostly positive reviews. I have an out of State problem, and I need a professional to manage it, as I lack expertise and time. The gentleman who took my initial call was professional and polite. The man he transferred me to was one of the most unprofessional individuals I have spoken with in a long time. He was rude, condescending, and focused on letting me know just how long he has been an attorney and that I must pay him $2,000 dollars up front. I asked about contract language, and he informed me that I would need to trust him and he won't invest his time without the money up front. Nothing about hourly rates, or even what that $2,000 would pay for. Using words like trust followed up with letting me know my problem was probably beneath him, doesn't foster assurance of his competence or trust. He made it feel like a shakedown. I ended the call politely by letting him know that we must have started off on the wrong foot and that I don't think we are a good match.

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and myself had a bad experience with Marcy Block. We dealt with her for approximately 4 -5 years. We trusted her to handle our issues with our taxes. We took for granted that everything would be resolved. Recently, we received documents from the IRS that not only going into collections, but she failed to file some of our taxes from previous years. My husband had to hire a representative from Optima Taxes in order to avoid having our wages garnished. This experience has taught us a lot, and it is unfortunate that we had to endure this entire ordeal.

They are quick to take payment for service but extremely slow to do anything. Huge lack in communication and you will go weeks without hearing from them. I got back a very small tax return even with being a first time home buyer that year. I would not recommend anyone use this company for taxes. Even TurboTax is better.

Sent them an email for a consult, heard nothing for 48 hours...called firm and was told that someone would contact me before end of business...never heard anything back. Been a couple weeks now.I was trying to hire them and this is how they treated me. Imagine if they actually represented you already had your retainer... I'd be less than thrilled. Glad they chased me away through their own ineptitude.

Reached out to them a year ago to get an amend to a return. Uploaded my documents and waited for word on what to do next. They would reach out every few months to say they were going to close the case. I would explain the situation to whomever reach out they would apologize and promise action before going silent for months. I would reach out again, get excuses and told they will work on it soon. This cycle kept happening for over a year. Do not use this service if you have any time limit.

What a great firm. When they say they can help you, they mean it. They patiently worked with us while we got years of information together. Best experience ever. I originally hired a different tax firm that did nothing for me in the three months that I was signed up with them. I then found Stanley Block and they handled my situation in three days!! When I tell you this firm is very professional, great communication and ready to go to bat for you, I’m not lying. Try not to get into any tax troubles but this firm I highly recommend.

Mr. Block and his extremely capable staff were able to do what seemed impossible to me; reducing an insurmountable tax debt to a manageable sum for me. Their experience and tax knowledge made every penny in fees worth the investment. I highly recommend trusting your complicated tax issues to the care of this team. They explained everything in layman"s terms throughout the process as well.

In 2018, I needed emergency help with a very specific problem in my taxes. After wasting two weeks getting the run around with Steven Graber (who screened my calls) and ultimately being told it was too late for them to help me, I stumbled onto Margaret Tabb. Right away she assured me she could help, and between her and Marcy Block, they resolved my issue within a few days! They were straightforward and knowledgeable. I greatly appreciated all of their help!

S.H. Block and his staff are phenomenal. They have years of experience and expertise in tax matters and are handling my case with aplomb. Stanley is genuinely concerned about a successful outcome for his clients. He says that he is striving for an outcome that will work for you and that is exactly what he is doing. His staff, Jane, Marcy, Brad and the others, are thorough, professional, enthusiastic and pleasant. They are great to work with. They have adapted to the changes required by the pandemic and keep their operation running like a well-oiled machine. They are easy to communicate with very accessible. This small law firm is top-notch. If you require the services of a tax firm, there is no other choice to make.

Nice people and very understanding however i'm still wondering why was i advised and given Fresno, Ca. as the ASFR Unit Stop to send my return if i'm living in Md. That's a 16 week wait to acknowledge receipt. Then, to be quote a discounted rate of $1500 to prepare IRS form 9465 for a payment plan for the IRS dummy return until mine is credited. After preparing IRS form 9465 myself and contacting them directly, i was told from the nice Agent that i was given the wrong address and it should have came to the Baltimore office. Now, i have to wait an additional 16 weeks to receive word of receiving it like i just waited for the Fresno Office. Until then, payment plan for the dummy return until the IRS receives mine to credit it.
