An unfortunate experience because North American Van Lines is so professional and has such a great team in Texas. This company, and their leadership are so unresponsive that we had to bring in a lawyer to aide us in the process. The damages and missing items can never be replaced. While it is an unfortunate circumstance for us it is even more unfortunate that this company is allowed to run like this. The longest communication times along with bad paperwork and a moving team that was rushed and left several scuffs. If at all possible-check with North American to ensure you do not have to work with the Moving Connection. We wish this company the best but the service provided was bottom of the barrel. Really put a damper on our move to Maryland and my late mother’s coffee table (which arrived completely broken on one end) can not be replaced. Just very sad and disappointed.

The moving connection is seriously a dangerous company. They are under North American Van lines and unfortunately if you have to use them just don't use North American. My stuff came broken, movers were in such a hurry that there's scuffs everywhere. Since the paperwork they had did not match North American van lines- we were naive enough to trust them. After having our lawyer read the faulty contract there's nothing we could do. Their lead agent, Pam Sirva, in the claims department is so unresponsive. It's unfortunate and unfair but their contract differences along with no safe guard lead to a loss of a lot of money on our end. We will never never use them again and warn anyone moving to maryland against using them. It's so so sad to deal with such a tragic team. Better luck to anyone moving in the future.

This was our 12th move and definitely the worst. Approximately 90% of our items had some type of damage. Many items broken/damaged beyond repair. Major missing parts to two if our beds (beds cannot be put together without these parts). Light colored (brand new) sectional not covered/wrapped in plastic. Arrived dirty. Crew that packed and loaded were very disrespectful and rude. Try to cram 2600 sq. feet plus onto one small truck. Taking patio furniture apart just to get it on the truck. Expensive bikes had wheels, pedals and other parts removed. Had to open every box in order to find everything and check for missing items. No logic to the packing. Items arrived weeks late. Communication has been very disappointing. Do not us North American or Moving Connection.

The ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! If possible to give negative stars, that is what I would give The Moving Connection with North American. It all seemed to start out great, until our furniture arrived at our new home and was loaded off the truck. Out of eleven professional moves, we have never had the extent of damage done to our furniture as with this move. Approximately 80% of our belongings have some sort of damage, to include a grandfather clock for which I was assured would be packaged properly. It is now sitting in my garage in several pieces. Our boxes and totes looked as if they were dropped while going down the interstate. We are absolutely sick by the lack of respect and pure negligence shown by this company. DO NOT USE THE MOVING CONNECTION of Upper Marlboro,MD with North American!!!

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT AND THE HEADACHE IS NOT WORTH IT. PS THIS COMPANY ALSO GOES BY Western Express. This is one of the worst companies I ever dealt with. When I say they are anti-veteran, anti-customer service, and everything you wouldn't look for in a moving company, that would be an understatement. I was referred to this company by way of Disable American Vets and North American Van Lines. They had the lowest quote and since they were local I gave them a shot. This was the biggest mistake ever. Like going through a minefield just to step on a landmine. This company was like stepping on multiple landmines. First, I was quoted with a lower rate. This seemed like a bait and switch and you will see towards the end. Then they said the move would be with a five man crew. They came with three. Not to mention, they had a subcontractor come out to measure and crate larger items. That subcontractor not only left me high and dry. This caused multiple delays. Then the Moving Connection Staff damaged my dining room table then blamed me. I had to reach out to the General Manager (who also try to strong arm me but later on in the review.), who basically said they would look into it, once they had the item in the warehouse. The moving leader was mad I called and basically confronted me in my own home. This set me off and could of turned dangerous for them. I am a combat veteran and would not allow anyone to press me without a fight. Luckily cooler heads prevailed. I found out on day one the movers doe not take bags. So I bought more boxes. Day 2, the movers came with a crew of five. The subcontractor who did not properly prepare a crate cause more delays. I had to demo my basement because of poor planning and direction from the moving company. Then to top all this off, the movers finally allowed bags. The level of incompetence of this company is high. The mover were finally able to finish the move minus one item. The movers took several days trying to figure out how to crate my item and finally they got the it into the truck. This was a very exhaustive process. Now here comes the fun part. The Moving Connection sent me the bill and to my surprise, the cost jumped up nearly 50% of the cost of the original quote. The moving coordinator misquoted my items which led to the increase. Also, the invoice was incorrect having charged me for 5 movers both days. Remember what I said above? Yes they charged me like they had all 5 crew members. I immediately disputed the charges and refuse to pay until they fixed it. This took several month. I had to file a complaint with North American Vanlines and DAV. Finally I got the invoice corrected but it was still higher than I was originally quoted. After paying the final bill I set up the delivery. This was when things took a worst turn. The General Manager, send a message a day before the move and try to get me to pay even more. This is when I had enough. I was being extorted by this manager. I told him how this was extortion and after a heated discussion he said I should come to the warehouse and pick up my items. This was the worst feeling ever. Here I am a veteran and honest citizen and to have this company try and strong arm me. Luckily I had my wife diffuse the situation. This will be reported but it is important I file this review. The move was scheduled and my items were delivered. But to make matters worst I had a variety of items badly damaged which cost more than the move. I filed a claim and of course no response. I sent pictures and emails. No response. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They never provided Documentation on how to file a claim or offered moving insurance. I will have to seek legal advice because this company refused to do what it is right. The sad part is they are on Andrews AFB. The Air Force should reconsider using a company who may potentially screw our Airman out of they items. Beware. The base commander should call them out for screwing over an Air Force Veteran.

The job was contracted out to a local Maryland company. People were nice enough, but the movers were rough with the belongings. Our furniture has war wounds from the move. They didn't have enough on the crew for the loading. Job started at 10AM and didn't not finish until 9PM. They ran out of room and one piece of furniture was left behind ...which I later returned to retrieve myself. The estimator seemed to take a swag at the size of the move. We didn't pay anymore, but like I said, they ran out of room on the truck. The overall price was much lower than the competitors. I see now that they sub contracted the job. I would recommend that if you use this company you check to see if they are doing the move or if it will be contracted out.

We selected the Moving Connection (registered as Western Express with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) as an agent of North American Moving Services for our move from Maryland to Iowa in the Summer 2020. We totally regret choosing them for the following reasons: -Arrived at our home 2 1/2 hours late on moving day which resulted in them finished after 10 p.m. that evening) -Driver was unable to secure sufficient help to pack our items (3 of 5 helpers just walked off the job hours before the job was finished) -Limited moving and packing expertise by the driver (who leads the entire effort). One of the movers he hired had to tell him what to do and the driver broke a table and desk in his attempts to take them apart for the move. -Poorly wrapped and protected furniture items prior to being loaded. -Poorly packed semi-tractor/trailer, which resulted in two broken tables, a broken desk, broken glass top, and multiple dents on many of our furniture pieces. This was noted by another North American Moving Services driver in Iowa. -Refusal by the driver to unload the truck on the day promised (even though it was parked just 3 1/2 miles away) -Inability of the driver to secure help to unload the truck on the day promised - which led to his claim that our driveway was all of a sudden "unfit" to unload the truck due to the rain. This was despite a heavy cement truck pouring cement on the same property and via the same established driveway just two weeks prior. -Unloading of our items (on the day of our original delivery date) at ANOTHER North American moving/storage facility in Iowa 63 miles away from our new home, and then asking us to pay an additional $3,291 for storage and future delivery of our items. -Failure to honor the "Price Lock Guarantee" in the original Order for Service As a result, our items were not delivered until 11 days AFTER the original promised delivery date. We were then left to sleep on the floor, live without our household items, and delay moving in for almost two weeks. After much negotiation and push back to The Moving Connection and the local North American agent, the President's office of North American Moving Services agreed to cover the $3,291 charge. Otherwise, our items would have remained in "hostage" until we paid. Our furniture items were repaired locally, per the valuation coverage we purchased, but many pieces will never be the same. Fortunately, the other local Iowa North American agent (Maher Brothers) who stored our items moved our items into our home in an excellent manner, even though they arrived 11 days late. Hats off to the President's office of North American Moving Services for agreeing to cover the $3,291 charge to store and move our items locally!!! Advice: Research carefully not only the company name, but also how it is registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. In addition, ensure that you have an excellent and experienced DRIVER, as he leads the entire moving effort, hires and secures sufficient help on both ends of your move, as well as drive the truck. If your driver is poor like ours was, your move will not be successful - no matter what your Order of Service states, what the salesperson promises, or what the local agents promise. Do not hire The Moving Connection in Maryland (registered as Western Express) as your agent for North American Moving Services (or other moving companies for which they serve as the agent).

Great company! They took the time to help me move when I couldn’t be in CO. They took great care and packed and stored everything. Then moved it into my new place 4 months later. I’m very pleased!

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with any company. It took four and a half weeks for my household items (all of my stuff!) to be shipped to me. The length of the wait was upsetting, but the most annoying part of the experience was the customer service. My shipment was delayed because one of the drivers on their team got sick. I'm fully sympathetic to this given the pandemic. and I understand having to shuffle around to find another team given the circumstance. What is UNACCEPTABLE is the lack of communication from the coordinator. It took them a week to even tell me that they didn't have a driver, and I had to contact them about it. After many calls and voicemails with no response, (as well as calling their sales department and other extensions) I called North American Van Lines (of which they are a subsidiary). It wasn't until then that a driver was assigned to me. I got my things about a week later, but still almost no communication or details from the coordinator. They marked someone else's stuff as mine (I hope that person eventually gets their headboard and rug), and I'm honestly surprised they even prompted me to give a review. I would not recommend them to anyone. Absolutely unacceptable.

This review is for the Moving Connection AND North American Van Lines. If i could give a zero I WOULD. BY FAR the WORST moving expierence i have ever, ever experienced. The amount of damage to our belongings is likely more than what we paid them to move. Couches were broken, sideboard legs were broken, coffee table was broken, glassware was broken (the boxes themselves with glasses inside were DAMAGED), dresser was broken in two places. Based on the amount of damages, I would consider our damage intentional by the employees of this company. I would RUN run run from this company. We will FIGHT this company will all we have to get money back and get reimbursed for everything that was broken.

The driver was absolutely a total professional; arrived on time and delivered before the actual date. The movers were polite, quick and friendly. I just tell anyone moving long distance to use your service. Thank you for all you do!!!

We were told an actual weight for our shipment that was false. When we requested documentation for the weight, it was revealed that the figure provided was made up. A weight for our shipment was never taken nor provided. The company charged us for the estimated weight only without checking that the weight was not less and therefore a reduced price. I have contacted the company at least 5 times over the course of a week with no success. Also, the movers did not show up on the scheduled day. We had to postpone our move by a day due to this. Only an apology was belatedly offered to compensate for our time.

Every single person was friendly, helpful and professional. we got a reasonable quote for a cross-country move and that's exactly what we paid -- no increase. Dave became a father just prior to our move but still found time to provide some additional info and to stop be in our move out day to be sure all was going well. At our west coast destination, the two movers lugged a huge antique cupboard up 17 stairs along with other antique pieces and about 170 boxes or other containers! We wanted to take a video or photos because we were so impressed but we were all too busy. They were impressive! I recommend The Moving Connection - Upper Marlboro - without reservation or hesitation.
