Update. The guests responsible for the disturbance continue to be nuances well past 2:00 a.m.After they were asked to leave they refused and the police were called to have them removed. The staff remain calm and respectful of all the parties involved. Changing my review to four stars. The reason why it's not five is because you should have a working desk phone inside your room for your safety.Original.Started off great but the staff was slow in removing another hotel guest that was throwing a party. Over 3 hours, 5 calls and the room phone wasn't working. At least the front desk tried to help but staffing at night is low and makes safety concerning at this location. A horrible experience.

Great stay! From the front desk, valet, and Kevin at the bar, everyone was a great ambassador of the hotel. We had good laughs while having drinks, with Kevin, and Shane at the front desk was friendly and helpful every step of the way.Our room was clean, and we loved the layout and decor throughout the hotel. We had very good coffee and breakfast sandwiches at their cafe.We will return!

Overall our experience was good.Cons: Ice maker on our floor was broke, vending machine by the pool didn't work, door from the parking garage was not locked which made us concerned about security. We had a multiple night stay, and we were disappointed that they didn't refresh the room each day. We had to call the front desk to get towels/coffee/water and they didn't even have regular coffee available.Pros: Room was spacious and clean. The staff was amazing, and very friendly, even offering to buy me coffee since they were out of regular k cups. The staffs friendly service makes up for other issues, but for the price you would hope for a few more of the little touches that would have really made the stay awesome.

Here for a conference. I regret booking this location. The hotel is completely worn down. It’s giving seedy. The customer service was warm and welcoming. I recommend any of the chain hotels nearby over this one. The location for conference purposes is not great compared to others, but that was my poor decision and doesn’t affect my rating. It’s just an old creepy hotel that appears to be struggling.

We traveled to Baltimore with our 2 boys (2 yr and 4 yr) and after a lot of researching we booked with the Royal Sonesta because it was in a good spot and had an indoor pool. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived (3 hours before check in) the staff was amazing. We arrived early with intent on going to aquarium before checking in. We stopped at hotel to confirm it was ok to park in the garage even though we were checking in until later. Not only did they say absolutely- but they also checked us in early, which was awesome! Every single staff member we encountered were friendly, welcoming, and had smiles. We could walk to everything we needed, so location was perfect. After a busy day at the museum we came back for some pool time. Towels were available, the indoor pool was perfect temp for the kids. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We ate with our 2 kids at explorers- not the best, but served its purpose. More options for kids would have been wonderful. Overall we were very happy with our stay and hope to come back when it’s warmer for even more fun!Rooms: Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable. We asked for more pillows and they brought up, no issues. Water pressure of the shower was perfect, water temps were no issue. Safe in the room that was easy to work. Literally, no complaintsNearby activities: Aquarium and the Science museum was amazing for the younger kids. So much for them to interact with and do!Safety: Had no concerns about safety, even when walking aroundWalkability: We walked to aquarium with 2 toddlers and had no issues and also the museum was right across the street!

Stayed here a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. So wife and I decided to do weekend getaway and booked again. Hotel has gone downhill. Panhandler in lobby when checking in with music blasting. Check in and took elevator to 3rd floor and all you smell is Marijuana in hallway. Went downstairs and waited for my car and harassed by the same panhandler. Walked the inner harbour which was great, went back to room and the smell of Marijuana was coming in through the vents. We had to leave a day earlier because of headache wife was getting. Could not sleep. They really need to get back to basics and have guest follow the rules. Its a shame as our first experience was so great. Will never book again. Will spend a little extra for piece of mind somewhere else.

All was fine with this property until we checked out. Great location. Nice room with a nice view of the Inner Harbor.Checked out at 10:30. Got home at 4pm and realized I left two shirts in the closet. Numerous calls to the hotel and their Loss Prevention Dept went unreturned and every time I was told nothing was found in the room. So, basically, one of their employees stole something and no one cares. Will never stay here again.

While passing through Baltimore, we stayed a night at Sonesta. Located close to the waterfront, the hotel has a very elegant feel to it. The rates are reasonable, and the service was good. The room was FANTASTIC! Overall, totally recommended.

An important consideration for anyone seeking an ADA compliant room at the Sonesta Hotel in Baltimore, MD.Unfortunately my 92 year old mother was not safe in her stay there. The wheelchair did not fit under the sink. And the sink was not low enough for a wheelchair user. The bars for the toilet were behind the toilet and therefore not useful so when she tried to use the towel bars that were in front of the toilet to get up they fell off the wall and she would have fallen if someone was not there to help her.The seat in the shower was at the opposite end of the shower so there was no way for her to sit under the water to shower. All the switches for lights in her room were on the lamps so when she entered the room at night, she couldn’t see in the dark to safely get to the light to turn it on.While the staff did their best to be helpful and kind, the fault clearly lies with upper management’s design of the room and lack of thoughtfulness. It is ADA compliant in name only.
