Not only are the employees rude as can be, most of the time they have expired food that won't be removed from the shelf. Every time I go there I have to make sure to check the dates because last time I didn't, I opened up two different packs of cheese and they were moldy, also the ranch I got had chunks in it because it was expired. I got chicken from the meat department and it was cut so awfully that we had to throw it away cause some pieces were see through while others were super thick. The cuts were just way off. A lot of the chicken was slimy and we were worried about eating it. When I went to get lettuce, everything was completely wilted. I also waited for cigarettes at front desk and finally when a manager came over I got huge attitude and was told "it's below her pay grade and she doesn't have to help" and laughed it off so she had a cashier leave her station to help me instead of just taking two seconds to help me. At the deli meat section you don't get the hello how are you? You get "okay what do you want..." I have given this store so many chances. But I'd rather drive out of my way somewhere else then go here again.

This store is like a box of chocolates. Some staff are delightfully accommodating and polite, and some staff are downright nasty, with a rude attitude and should be fired. Even the pharmacy has some rude people. Sometimes the produce is lovely and the selection has everything, other times it's half rotten, missing what is on my list, and I have to go to another store. Many of the sale prices marked on the shelves haven't been updated on the system, so I have to check every item on my sales receipt, and usually there is at least one item for which I was overcharged, that results in another 10 minutes at the customer counter. But it is close to where I live, and our neighborhood worked hard to get this store. You just never know what you're gonna get.

I often say at the checkout line that I imagine this to be a place I could come to die...or find that moss grew on my legs...as i wait in line...no joke. Its not exactly the fault of employees. Never enough cashiers. No self service line either.

WORST. SAFEWAY. EVER. All front end management should be terminated and replaced with competent people who actually care about customers. Most cashiers are rude as hell, slow and have absolutely no desire to be there. There is a total lack of care. Cashiers: It is so incredibly disrespectful to talk poorly about customers In front of them, and across the lanes to fellow cashiers. It's tacky and hateful and you're totally doing it on purpose so that customers hear how much you clearly hate your job. Please stop and grow up. And PLEASE OPEN MORE THAN ONE LANE ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON. If management weren't so lazy, they could help pitch in to open other lanes in order to get customers out smoothly but instead they just want to insult and argue with them. I despise this awful store.

Had an extremely poor customer service experience tonight with MARK who works in customer service. My husband went to return items and MARK did the entire transaction incorrectly. He didn't refund the items properly, which is evident by the receipt. AND instead of refunding my money, he actually took more money out of my account!! Had to make a second trip to the store after discovering the error. I understand making a mistake. This did not bother me. But what did bother me, was the fact that MARK neither apologized nor showed any concern for HIS error, which has costed me now over $60! He simply said, "You'll have to come back tomorrow," and then just strolled away onto the next customer. He was extremely dismissive. MARK is not fit for this position. This position requires someone with a better attitude. And Safeway still owes me money. But I don't blame Safeway. I blame MARK!! I will update you on what happens when I speak to the other manager tomorrow morning. Update: ANDREA in customer service helped me sort this mess out. She was very courteous and apologized for my experience. This is how you treat a customer! She was very thoughtful and helpful. THANK YOU ANDREA! You deserve a promotion!

Holy cow I think the produce department went through hell. Bare shelves . Totally not acceptable . Staff looked miserable . I did however found some frozen entrees at 50 % off .
