I called the pharmacy to inquire about travel vaccines. They offer them at this location with travel consultation at $34.99 which is the cheapest in this area after shopping around. The pharmacist Penny was super helpful and always answered the phone when I had questions. My husband and I came in today and she was able to check our insurance for what was covered and administered the vaccines we needed. I have a phobia for needles, Penny provided me a comfort squishy and she really is the best at vaccines in Harford County. It was a great experience and I highly recommend. If you are looking to get yellow fever or any travel vaccines in the area, this is your place to go. Thanks again Penny.

FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING WORKING FOR THIS GIANT: I have been a pharmacy technician for 30 years…I worked as a pharmacy technician for almost 2 months for this Pharmacy before I quit due to harassing and bullying by two of the senior techs that work there (Diane and Janet). My mother had been a patient there for over 20 years and saw a hiring sign so I applied and went on an interview with the pharmacy manager, Penny.
During the interview, Penny told me that I would have a minimum of 34 hours a week, be considered full-time in three months and be able to apply for benefits and transfer my 401(k). She also said that it was a family like atmosphere. Literally nothing that she told me was true. After I began working there, I was always scheduled under 30 hours. Was told that I would never be full-time, only part-time and therefore didn’t qualify for benefits or 401(k). Penny, Diane, and Janet put on an act for the customers but then talked badly about the customers behind their back. I was horrified at the things that went on there. There are definitely some good people working there, but these three are awful! From literally my second week, Diane treated me horribly. She spoke extremely rude and sarcastic to me and belittled me. She interrupted me constantly with customers when I did not need her help…she is an extremely jealous and insecure person. I had a meeting with Penny and she told this is typical behavior for Diane because she’s a jealous and insecure person. However, Penny would not ever deal with it. After a particular bad morning when Diane screamed at me in front of customers and coworkers, I alerted Penny and went to the store manager, Dave. Very little was done about the situation and the behavior by Diane continued. When the other senior tech, Janet arrived usually in the evenings, she would kick the current technician off of the computer and refused to help the customers out front, expecting the technician she just kicked off to go. Janet frequently made announcements to the pharmacy that she was not a cashier or a clerk and that she’s been there for 24 years and her spot was the computer when she arrived. There was no team playing with these ladies, it was all about them, not the good of the company. Neither one of them wanted to work harmoniously with other technicians to get the work done. The reason I left was because one particular evening, Janet came in and stood so close to me, she was practically touching me and using intimidation, harassing, and bullying behavior, insisting I get off of the computer. As I was helping several waiting patients, I refused. She slammed things around, grabbed her purse and yelled “I’m leaving!!!” and stormed out, leaving us shorthanded. Literally NOTHING was done about the situation. Penny ignored my texts and phone calls. She then told me I had to deal with the store manager, Dave. Dave was extremely unprofessional to me on the phone, refused to give me the Director of Pharmacy’s email (Kelly Shanahan) so I could report to her, and then hung up on me. Still to this day nothing has been done although I was promised it would be! I have now secured work at another Pharmacy chain, and the daily stress I was experiencing there is finally over. I almost feel like I have post traumatic stress from the way I was treated. Because Penny told me that this was repeat behavior by these women and that they were controlling and territorial over their pharmacy, yet ALLOWS it to continue, I highly recommend NOT applying there! I have always gotten along great any place I’ve worked and even knew many of the people that came in there and it was like a joyous reunion to see them and I’m sad I couldn’t stay for them because they deserve so much better than what they currently get there. I have never experienced anything like this in my 30 years as a pharmacy technician! Absolutely horrifying the amount of unprofessional behavior that goes down there by these three women! Everybody else there was so kind to me and welcoming, and I want to make that clear. Also NO breaks EVER!

Prescriptions are always filled timely and accurately. I have been using this pharmacy since it opened and prior to that I used the one at the Tollgate Town Center. Staff are courteous and willing to assist any way they can.

The best pharmacy I've ever dealt with they're very nice and cordial the only problem is a lot of times when you call and actually want to speak to a pharmacy associate the call drops meaning you push whatever number it tells you and it hangs up on you before anybody can pick the phone up to answer. I live really close so it's not a problem but for someone that lives a little further away that's one drawback.

This place has really gone downhill since Coronavirus started. They are constantly out of my medication and I have to wait days sometimes to get it after I call it in. A few weeks ago I was going away for the weekend and needed to refill my prescriptions before I left. I called the prescription in and the recorded message said it would be ready by 1pm the same day. I went to pick it up and the technician told me they were out of it and I would have to come back the next day. I was understandably very upset because I was going out of town and would not be able to get it the next day. What's more, I was never even notified that they were out of my prescription until I went in to get it. No phone call, nothing. And I was told I would be able to pick it up at 1 pm. The pharmacist, Penny, said she could give me a few pills of the same medicine at a lower dose until it came in, but she did not have enough to carry me over until I got back from my trip. I was very upset. I told her this was not the first time they were out of my medication and that it was unacceptable that I never even got a phone call to tell me they were out and I wouldn't be able to pick it up. I said it is a huge inconvenience to drive 25 minutes to come to this pharmacy only to be told I would have to come back another day. She used the now-cliché "we're in a pandemic" excuse and said there was nothing she could do as the pharmacy was busy giving COVID vaccines. She was very rude. Apparently, this is now primarily a vaccination clinic and pharmacy customers are lower priority. This is not acceptable to me. Very poor customer service and poor communication. I will be taking my business elsewhere as I am done with their excuses. I went to another pharmacy and luckily was able to get the medication I needed before they closed. I will not be going back to Giant pharmacy.

On Sunday, July 26th, I went to get my weekly groceries and went into the Deli and noticed it was very busy. I put in my order in the kiosk and it said number 34 in 20 minutes. I left my phone number to be texted. About 20 minutes later, I was texted and went to pickup my order. One of the items said out of stock (Eskay Low Salt, Fat Free Ham). If it's out of stock, why did it allow me to order it on the kiosk and if it's out of stock, why didn't someone call me and ask for a replacement. I got my groceries and had to go home and then go to Shop Rite for my lunchmeat. I'm no longer doing that, it doesn't make sense. Ridiculous! Waste of my time!
