Yikes. Went on a not so busy day and you can't find anyone in the giant store to help you around. Not a huge deal but annoying. Then I get to the front and the cashier is yelling at everyone to use self checkout. I wanted to pay cash so I waited. I get to the register and she leads me over to self checkout and scans my stuff and walks away. So I couldn't pay cash and stood there for a few minutes while the machine wouldn't take my card. Then it gives you 3 seconds to press print receipt or it goes back to the main screen. I don't go shopping to work as a cashier for your company. I guess I'll buy my stuff on Amazon next time

Needed a mat for a 6x9 photo. Was quite surprised how reasonable the cost was. Also very impressed with the quality of service. Definitely a measure twice, cut once process. Fast too, I had my mat within 15m of ordering. Will go back when I need a mat in the future.

I am so sad that AC Moore closed. You would think Michaels would be doing great since they lost the competition down the street but it's awful. It's run down, dirty, and lacking inventory in just about everything. There's huge empty areas where shelving was removed. It looks like it's going out of business but without the sale.

I was looking for supplies to make goodie bags. I asked the lady, Candi, about the ribbon. I was a bit confused on the $1 ribbon sale. She walked me to where the ribbon was and explained what the sale was and she asked me what colors and theme i was going for. I ended up getting yellow and black, multiples of each, as she gave me a very good idea for the silverware and ribbon! She was so helpful that i will be back.

I am an occasional customer of this Michaels store, it is convenient for me because there are a bunch of stores located nearby. Usually I have a good experience during check out, even if the advertised coupons and sales are misleading. Most of the staff are polite. This recent shopping experience was an exception however, as I happened to be in the cashier line with an expressionless youngster who was more than happy to help me out with my sale that she couldn't be bother to ensure accuracy, and she overcharged me. When I called this to her attention she did offer to refund me, but she lacked a clear acknowledgement of her error when I pointed out her excessive swiping reflexes. Looking at me with her flat faced expression she replied "thanks it's a gift." This is NOT a compliment. I have also wasted time in the store before thinking I'm getting a really great deal with the coupons. (For instance, the 20% coupon is more awkward than it is worth.) I am a fairly experienced shopper and hard to rip off, but this just infuriated me. Positive experiences are many, and often times when I was misled about a sale, a store associate has fixed it graciously for me. I hope this recent episode is not a reflection of future shopping experiences, if so, there are other craft stores around. My advice to other shoppers is to just be careful. I also think this Michaels could do about better by providing some etiquette classes to some of it's more insensitive employees.

I came for some supplies for hobby terrain building. The main thing I look for in a Michael's craft store is variety and staff courtesy and knowledge. Just like in a Home Depot or Lowe's I would hope the staff and employees know more about equipment or tools than I do. And this Michael's was more than accommodating on both categories. The staff was really cordial and knew where everything was and could point me in the right direction for supplies I needed as well as might need for future endeavors. I would highly recommend this place!

I spend a lot of money at Michaels because I am a crafter, teacher, and a mother. Over the past 2 months alone I have spent well over 1000 dollars (which is a lot for our household) I bought two of the two-pack 6 inch pillar candles (at 7.99 a pack) on Sunday 11/6. I opened them up on Monday 11/7, and both were broken in the center. My husband returned them for me tonight at our Bel Air, MD Michaels store, and he told me that he was never received more rudely from any manager in any store. The woman told him that, "No one in my staff would ever sell a candle like that, you dropped the bag." Then she said, "I will let you replace them this ONE time, but I am going to take your name to make sure you do not lie to us again." Then she put the new candles in four extra bags, making a show of it saying, "Do you think four bags is enough so you don't have an accident?" ... "You know what why don't we add two more for you!" In the most condescending and sarcastic tone. He came home and told me never to shop there again. AC Moore as the same candles for a dollar more, but we will spend our money there.

I left this store literally shaking, never did I expected to be humiliated and belittled in front of everybody by their clerk named Kim. I almost felt like she was gonna hit me with that Sale sign that I seemed not to understand it well. With all her might she yanked that sign of the shelf pointed it right into my face so closed that I had to step back for my safety and she yelled "Sales on RED tags ONLY!" making sure everyone in store could hear it. It was the worst customer service experience ever in my life. From now on I'll be shopping at A.C. Moore store that just happened to open for business in that area at Festival Plaza.

I went to Michaels today and was very disappointed. I was looking for brass or "gold" jewelry findings and there was nothing there for bead spacers. They had removed one whole isle of beads, etc. Was very disappointed.

It's like heaven for crafty people! They have any craft related item you could dream of. The customer service has always been good. The flow and layout can get a little confusing, though. They usually have sales and/or coupons, so you get value for your money.
