We are new to the area and brought one of our cats in with the intention of establishing primary care, but some unfortunate labwork turned it into end of life care. The staff were very compassionate and patient - especially when I couldn't get through a single phone conversation without breaking down. Nothing makes this part of pet ownership easier, but their kindness and how they gently walked us through the process made it a little less painful. We were in good hands. I'll be bringing my surviving cat here hopefully for many years to come.

I wanted to request neutering for my cat. I was then told that he needed to see the doctor before the surgery, so my son visited this place with all of my cat's previous records. However, despite having received the FVRCP Vaccine FIRST in March, 2023 and the FINAL in April, 2023, the doctor gave him the FVRCP Vaccine FIRST. I sent an email to the doctor and received the response, the vaccine was a booster. I asked another veterinarian for her opinion on this matter. The goal for FVRCP is to finish the series around 15-16 weeks or after the total number of shots does not matter since it depends on how old a kitten was when they received their first shot. She believes any further therapy or vaccines are not needed. My cat was over 30weeks and not showing any upper respiratory signs or any other signs of illness that I was concerned about at that time. I sent an email to the doctor in July, 2023 inquiring again stating a second opinion above. Unfortunately I have not received a response from the doctor and this animal hospital yet. I am very disappointed about this matter.

Traveling through the area and need booster shots for my dog. They refused to help unless I became a new customer and payed for an exam. I have a letter from my hometown vet saying what boosters were needed and that an exam was done two weeks ago. Kind of sad, this was my vet 40years ago when I lived in the area.

Have been using this vet service since 1998 and have always been pleased with the care given to my cat (s). Also I use this facility for boarding my furbabies when I’m going to be away…makes sense to me as my vet will be right there. Great service and caring and compassionate staff.

I love taking my dog to this vet! They are kind, extremely helpful, and clearly love animals. Recently, I called and got an appointment SAME DAY! Incredible! They were able to quickly identify why my dog wasn’t acting like herself, and with the help of the medications they prescribed, she is making a speedy recovery.

My family has been taking our pets here for longer than I can remember. They treat your pets exactly like the family they are. On my most recent visit, I watched as the vet assigned to my 2 kitties recognized immediately their two very distinct personalities and treated them accordingly. They are very clear in their directions for how to continue their care when returning home. It was an added plus that the vet was open during COVID, with added precautions and protections in place for staff, family and their patients. And, I can tell by the calmness of my kitties after seeing the vet, that they too rate Beltsville Vet Hospital 5 stars.

I have trusted this Vet clinic for over 20 years. Through good times and difficult times, the entire staff have given highly professional, compassionate service, without fail. For me, they are the best. Thank you Beltsville Vetinary Hospital!!!?

I really wish I could give them 5 stars but between the gentleman that works the front desk who is very rude and makes you feel like you are disturbing his day when all you are doing is checking in to the older white lady vet tech who seems to have a chip on her shoulder and is a bit rude to people I just can't. If I'm honest the practice would be better if at minimum the front desk gentleman was removed. The last thing a pet owner wants to deal with is a receptionist that has zero personable skills and is just flat our rude all of the time. I get people have bad days, but he must have bad days everyday. We have been with this practice since Dr Sidore days, practically since it was opened and we were always happy but now we are in the process of deciding if we want to leave or not. I truly do not wish to leave because Dr. Fink is possibly one of the best vets around but it is ruined by staff that clients interact with the most, and add in how hard it can be to get appointments sometimes.

They are too expensive and prescribing vaccines that aren't necessary. Last vaccine also included $37 charge for actually injecting the shot.

Owner company of the practice is illegally telling employees not to discuss their wages. Threatens employees with being fired for discussing the measly pay of techs and receptionists. Someone should report them to the department of labor. This is a flagrant violation of the equal pay act.

I have patronized Beltsville Veterinary Hospital for nearly 30 years. Overall, I’ve been pleased with the care my pets received. However, I will no longer take my business there. I also will share today’s experience with the pet families I’ve referred to Beltsville Veterinary Hospital over the years and actively encourage them to do the same.I called the office this afternoon to see if there was any way I could get my nine week old Cavapoo in to be seen because she is throwing up quite a bit and is alarmingly listless. The person who took the call was totally unsympathetic and callous. She said there were no appoints to be had for at least two weeks. I questioned that and she then implied she was doing mea favor by offering an appointment at all. I am livid. How dare a receptionist treat the customer in such a fashion. As other pet parents know, vet services are not free. My bill is always paid at the time of service. It’s unfortunate that a lowly receptionist can taint a business in such a way. R On my way now to take my pup to another vet who was willing to fit us in.
