Poorly trained. Multiple staff at times had to get assistance from one another in answering a question about a product and/or show something basic. In one instance, a staff had to get others in trying to resolve a laptop issue (Macbook Pro). Not very technically skilled and showed competency demonstrated as technicians in the troublesbooting process nor communicating the technical lingo for the general public in a non-jargon manner. There is an old say ...................

I’ll spare the details of my nightmare of a visit. But the employees are poorly trained and highly misinformed about their own products and sales processes.

This store was an enormous waste of my time. I went to purchase a phone last week and was told by an employee (Souhail) that if I came next Friday instead (aka today), I would receive a $75 Apple gift card that I could apply retroactively to the cost of the phone I was purchasing. This seemed too good to be true so I clarified this several times and was assured that, yes, the gift card would be used to retroactively reduce the phone cost by $75. So I made the trip back today, only to be told that no, the gift card can only apply to future purchases - which was extremely frustrating since this was the only reason I had decided to make the trip back.
Furthermore, when I was purchasing my phone, the employee deactivated my old one without asking. I never said I wanted to get the phone set up; all I wanted to do was buy it. They were unable to reactivate my old phone so I was stuck waiting there for another 25 minutes while the new one got set up. It was a huge waste of time and now I can only use the new phone, even though I had wanted to use my old one for a while longer.
Overall it was a very frustrating experience, and I left feeling like my time was wasted.

7:30-8pm…
This was my worst Apple Store experience. At Bethesda Row, the first technician (middle-aged white man) complained that helping me would take too long because his shift ended at 8 p.m., then abruptly handed me off.
The second technician black woman (late 20’s- early 30’s) was sneezing, sniffling, and wiping her runny nose the entire time, which made me extremely uncomfortable. There was no manager available either. Well, at least not an identifiable one.
I’m fairly tech-savvy and came in already identifying the issue: my iPhone stopped working after updating to iOS 26.1, which was supposed to fix and restore service for customers affected by iOS 26. I even had to explain that to them—none of the staff knew!
I literally came in telling them I received an error stating my physical sim was not compatible…Despite me telling them this from jump, they erased my phone instead of troubleshooting the SIM error that I reported. Even my wireless carrier said that made no sense. Then they “recommended” I finish restoring at home because it takes so long—why come to the store at all? The irony was unbelievable.
When I started the restore in the store, the same SIM error appeared immediately. Now my phone won’t even work on Wi-Fi, which it did before their “help.” I have to go to another Apple Store to fix what Bethesda Row made worse. Completely careless, frustrating, and avoidable.

I had a great experience at the Apple Store. A girl named Kenya helped me, and I’m very satisfied with her service. She was kind, friendly, and answered all my questions with a smile. Thank you, Kenya, for making my purchase so easy and pleasant!

Went in to buy a new phone for my girlfriend, who is in the hospital, Donice Will not only extremely fast and competent at processing everything he also in our downtime waiting for the phone demonstrated a bunch of the features on the new 17 pro which I really appreciated because I know my girlfriend would like them and he kind of knew it was for her so that it was more like selfie stuff and how to use the camera properly. That's the way you make a customer feel good about spending over $1,000 on a whim.

I brought my phone in to replace the battery. The service person was helpful and explained that my screen had a dead pixel and might break when they tried to open it and replace the battery. I said in that event that I wouldn't want any service, and would just buy a new phone. I was given a return time (5:10), and came back on time to get my phone. After waiting half an hour I asked someone again for help and they indicated my phone was still being worked on and to hang tight. Finally, the team has me sign forms and said they fixed my phone for free. That seemed odd because I was quoted $89, so I ask if they are sure and they realize that actually the display cracked and no service was done. The 2 stars is not because my screen cracked, it is because I could see a time stamp of 4:27 indicating they wouldn't fix it. The 30+ minutes I waited for my phone was entirely unnecessary and was just awful customer service.

I ordered online and went to the Apple Bethesda Row store to pick up my items. Even though it was a Sunday, the process was smooth — in and out within just a few minutes. My order was ready, and the staff was friendly and efficient. This isn’t my first time coming here, and they’re always consistently helpful. Great service every time!

I wanted to buy an Apple Watch and get some help setting up my new IPAD (got a new one from Costco and wanted to transfer stuff from old one to new one and I needed some help). I had an appointment and when I went to check in the staff person told me that they don’t help with set up equipment not bought at Apple. What? When did this policy change? That is supposed to be a great feature of Apple, that you can get help from the famous Apple Genius Bar. No answer.
So I spent $ 30 on Uber to go and come home for nothing.
My niece said she went to Montgomery Mall Apple Store with an Apple Watch she bought on Amazon for some help and they didn’t turn her away so I made an appointment there, brought my old and new IPad, and the staff there assisted me, no problem. They have a “set up” table where customers sit and a staff person walks around and helps customers with set up. I don’t know if Bethesda store has a different approach or if the guy at check-in was just wrong but I do not recommend this Apple Store. Bethesda store manager: if the guy was wrong, better training is needed; you owe me $30.00; and now my entire extended family of Apple users who spend, easily, $ 10,000 a year on Apple products, will no longer bring you their business. Imagine the amount of $ you might lose if even 1% of the people reading this review decide your store is snobby or wrong and take their business to another store. Just trying to be helpful here, even though your store was not.
