“I had a tubeless pop on the rear tire of my Madone, and I was bummed because I really wanted to ride DC, coming from NYC. Luckily this shop was in walking distance, and they even provided tools for me when I requested to fix it myself! Unfortunately the plug didn't hold, but they still went out of the way to look for any spare tires in their workshop to keep my repair costs down. I ended up just going for a tube and a new tire in the end because they didn't have any 28-30s, but in the end I got to enjoy what DC had in store! Definitely recommend if you're in a pinch and a bit under prepared, they're friendly and always ready to help.”

“I have always loved cycling, but have never truly loved a particular bike before. I thought the best way to resolve this would be to get a new bike and bought myself a 4130 all road from state bike co. Even though conceptually everything about this bike fit my requirements (relaxed geometry, wide supple tires, compliant steel frame), I could not find myself a comfortable position during my rides. After wrestling with stem length, saddle positioning, and almost giving up on drop bars altogether, I decided to give the bike one last chance by booking a fitting with Robert. After consulting with me on my riding style and bike usage - I told Robert I want to use my bike for bikepacking and commuting - he immediately understood that I valued comfort and endurance over speed. It took him just 15mins to adjust my bars, saddle height, and fore/aft. When I got back on my bike, the entire ride experience had been transformed. Today I took my bike on a 30mile ride wearing normal clothes (no padded shorts) and found myself with no sore spots or unusual aches anywhere. I went from almost giving up on drop bars to not being able to conceive a long distance ride without them. For the first time in my life I am in love with a bike and it is all thanks to Robert. Do yourself a favor by booking a fitting with the legend Robert instead of wrestling with your saddle and bars by yourself. You will thank yourself when you’re riding the next day with a big goofy smile on your face.”

“I had such a good experience at Vida Ciclista today. I came in near closing with no warning — just me and a truck full of a dusty, tangled pile of old bikes, most of them belonging to my dad before he suffered a brain injury. I was overwhelmed & unsure what was valuable, what was practical, but wanting to do justice to gear my dad had loved and cared for. Alex (the owner) immediately stopped what he was doing and spent a bunch of time thoughtfully helping me untangle and sort through everything. Zero pressure — just deep knowledge, honesty, generosity, and obvious love for bikes and the people who ride them. Alex helped me think through what made sense to keep, service, donate, or potentially sell. He recognized details instantly, caught that one vintage bike had mismatched wheels and identified the matching set in a pile of spare tires, talked me through making an older Moots comfortable for me to actually ride, and encouraged me not to rush to sell a beautiful LeMond before taking it out “to go whizzing around on a Saturday.” Beyond the technical expertise, the whole interaction just felt deeply human. My dad was a serious cyclist before a sudden health decline changed his life completely, and for the first time since inheriting all this gear, the bikes stopped feeling like overwhelming remnants of a lost chapter and started feeling meaningful and alive again. Falls Church is lucky to have a shop and small business owner like this. Vida Ciclista got a lifelong customer today.”

My bike seat had been toggling up and down for months. After two visits to two other bike shops and two other guys tried to fix it, and this bike shop figured it out. They also helped me diagnose another issue with my bike that I will get fixed later. I can't recommend them highly enough!”
