Wonderful bet and staff. Incredibly professional and kind. Couldn’t ask for better care or more compassionate concern.

They were very accommodating with my dad out of town who is the customer and helped me get a prescription sent to pet smart while he was away.

Dr. Talbott has been great with my cats. One was very sick for a couple weeks and we had a very hard time figuring out what was going on and he required several ER visits. Dr. Talbott was quick to respond to my questions in email or with a phone call. I think one day I talked to her 3 times. She was amazing throughout the whole process and helped quell all my fears and and answer all my questions.

While I've only crossed their threshold a half dozen times over a few years, so far, the prompt and attentive service is always there. The dog seems to enjoy the place too, which always surprises me given how and where he gets poked and prodded while in that building. They must do something right in that regard, and consistently so. Seems more of a dog office than one for cats, but I also didn't make a list.

We always like them, but today had an urgent issue and we really appreciated their attention to our pup. Pup is already relieved and her parents are super grateful to Kenwood.

I love Kenwood! I highly recommend the veterinary practice as well as the doggie daycare/boarding. I always feel confident my dog is getting the best care and well looked-after in my absence.

Really loved this vet. I recently moved to the DC area and needed to find a new vet for my 10lb dog so she could have a regular checkup and get her annual vaccinations. They did have to call me to reschedule my original appointment because of availability of their vets, but the team was super kind and accommodating- they got me in sooner because of the reschedule, which was impressive.I came in for the visit yesterday, and while I was waiting in the waiting room, I noticed that a large poodle had been brought in for a quick surgery follow-up. Dr. Champa came out to check on the poodle, and immediately knelt down on the floor to be at the dog's level- this was so awesome to see! A vet who really gets IN THERE with their patients is super rare. The next thing I noticed was someone coming in to pick up their dog- the vet tech immediately came out to greet the owner and they actually seemed like old friends! This vet tech- named Rob- had an absolutely excellent way of communicating and connecting with everyone who came in - he helped with my appointment as well, and went above and beyond to make my lil dog feel comfortable. THANK YOU ROB! You are awesome! When it comes to my actual appointment, I left super happy. Dr. Champa spent 10 mins on the floor talking to my dog and giving her treats so she had less anxiety before her shots, and she went out of her way to inform me about the specific shots being administered, challenges I should look out for being new to DC (rabies, ticks, etc.), and even suggested a cheaper way to get heartworm prevention. Dr. Champa is one of the most thorough and knowledgeable vets I have ever come across - I didn't feel rushed during my appointment, and I felt like she truly had my pet's best interest at heart when recommending next steps. She also spent extra time answering my questions about the best way to clean my dog's teeth!I feel that Kenwood Animal Hospital is truly a great place for my pets. The staff is caring and they are also reasonably priced. Kenwood also has parking right out front, so that was easy too! Highly recommend this place and Dr. Champa!

Dr Dougherty has had a very special place in my heart for many years. She cared for my recently found little dog who was having seizures. I was beside myself and called about every fifteen minutes. I moved away and returned several years later. Unfortunately my little guy was declining with kidney disease from old age. Dr Dougherty was so very kind to me and Buddy I will forever be grateful. She was pulling for him and gave him vitamin b shots and did everything possible for him. She kept a tiny Velcro muzzle for him because he didn't like shots. So I can't ever thank Dr Dougherty for taking us back years later when he was sick. Her kindness was wonderful. I wish I could find a way to thank Dr Dougherty for helping us. She was the kindest most knowledgeable vet I have met. I always remember how she helped me and my little dog and supported me when his time was over. He was my family.

DO NOT BOARD HERE. This is a review for the boarding. We checked the cost of boarding our cat and dog at various places, as we're not made of money. We settled on Kenwood because we like them as vets and we were offered a special deal on daycare during our dog's stay. I asked the person on the phone to confirm the deal on daycare was valid for the entire stay and he said, "yes. All five days." I called again to confirm the details and the deal was once again confirmed for "all five days." Seemed a little too good to be true so I asked if they were sure. "Yep. It's for all five days." You already know what happened. We showed up to drop our pets off. This time tomorrow we will be out of the country. First problem: They wanted to know if our dog is spayed. Odd, because they already clarified that with us earlier that day and *confirmed by email they updated their records.* Seems the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Second problem: Of course. "Oh that deal is only for the first day. We *never* would give the deal for more than one day. That's the way it has always been." I explained that it sounded too good to be true to me too and that was exactly why I checked three times. They knew they had us by the shorthairs and demanded we pay well over what we budgeted for the care we had been promised. If we had any other options, we would book elsewhere. I'll be stressed out the entire holiday wondering if they're providing basics of boarding.
