Sandy Spring Bank and loan officer Mario Diaz have been terrific to work with. I am a realtor who frequently refers my clients tyo Mario because he is patient, and he runs the numbers for multiple scenarios so my clients can easily chose which is the best one for them. I really appreciate how easy he makes it for them to understand their choices.

Mario and the team at Sandy Spring Bank were exceptional! From our initial contact to the signing of the paperwork on our first home purchase, Mario was communicative, professional, and available. The pricing, interest rates, fees were all the best we came across in the entire DMV area. We would not work with anyone else and recommend them to anyone seeking a lender!

This bank is the absolute worst. It's like dealing with a company stuck in 1972. Their systems never work. Multiple times I've spent 20 mins on hold (and gotten disconnected and had to start all over again). Their beautiful new system is horribly designed (hey, surprise, their "make a payment" and "quick transfer" features don't actually work if you're paying from an external bank account -- but there's no indication of that on the screen so you'll waste all kinds of time trying to troubleshoot this "bug" only to learn it's actually a "feature." We have our mortgage here so we're a captive audience, but if I could switch to another bank I would do it in a nanosecond. Save yourself monthly frustration and get your mortgage elsewhere. Seriously!

The new user interface is horrible. I just want to be able to see all my transactions in a format that lets me sort by date and amounts. The old interface displayed transactions in a spread sheet like format. Now there are fewer transactions displaying at one time, they show all the details which I don't need unless I have a question, and make me hunt to see all my pending transactions. This morning it looked like $2600 went missing. The large fonts they use are probably nice for people with visual problems, but it is just too much work to find my information. I am going to change banks, which is a huge pain, but that's how bad this new format is.

Sandy Spring Bank fails again. Their new mobile app doesn't work. I called for assistance and the phone line was garbled. This bank should never be anyone's choice for anything.

Had an awesome experience working with mario diaz. He was absolutely helpful whenever i need help he always replied me as soon as possible. He explained all the process very well. I like his working style he did everything step by step so everything was clear there were no confusion

i dont know who are these people with these five star reviews. the bank has practices which is not all kosher. want a loan? how about pay them first to see if you qualify and if you dont you loose all the fees up to 10000. how about do you have preapproval and already investing or buying that house from sandy spring bank? good for nothing. i had one and two nights before settelement they called and i mean they called no letter or explanation that they will not give me the loan. for small timers and mom and pops saving account may be it is the closest bank but for doing business watch out.9-23-2023talk to Jessica. the bank practices are desgined to charge people extra fees. realy what is jessica going to do? is this one of those online PR responses for public? if you realy like to fix it start by honoring your loan commitments, dont charge clients extra fees that other banks dont charge ( up to 11,000? insane).

25 years I've banked with Sandy Spring. Over the past 5-10 years it has completely changed. I do not know what happened. I've tried being patient and stay a loyal customer but this institution is beyond backwards.The worst customer service I have ever had. An absolute disgrace to the entire banking and finance industry. Save yourself enormous headaches and do not bank here or do any type of business with these people. If this bank is still in business in 5 years I will be amazed. Stay away and tell anyone that you care about to stay away.

Narda at SSB is a true one-of-a-kind! Throughout our home buying search, she was right alongside us the whole way through. Narda made herself available for quick turnaround offers and walking through all the numbers. Our journey would not have been the same without her and the knowledge she provided us. 30 years I've dealt with this bank tangentially. Nothing but problems every time. They are out of date. Do you use a password manager like a normal person? No, that won't work right. Login is somehow through another domain for sign-in. The people are nice and normal when you have to meet them, but WHY have people and location a that they force you to go to? I'm not local to them, but they insist. Reimmagine banking for the 80's.They are nice people. Five years and they will be gone.

Stay away from this bank. Your funds are NOT secure. Recent victim of credit card fraud. They approved several thousand dollars over FOUR days and didn't flag transaction until the FIFTH transaction for LESS than $200. It took almost 3 weeks for funds to be returned. Then about 2 weeks later, 5 weeks since fraud transactions, I CLOSED all my accounts. Then two hours later Sandy Springs calls and calls again because they issued wrong amount on my check. The Corporate Security representative called and asked me to return check, so correct amount could be reissued. So when it's THEIR money, it's URGENT but when it's your money, they just let it go in fraudulent transactions. I called back Corporate Security representatives TWICE within minutes of her call and she NEVER bothered to return my call. That's "EXCELLENT, " customer service.
