Very disappointed with this location. I was leaving out of the dressing room and gave the attendant (black older woman with a bad micro mini braided wig) the items I didn't want and kept the one item I did. The attendant comes over to me and asked if I wanted the kept item. I asked her why, do you want it? She states no, are you going to put it back? I told the attendant if I chose to I will. She continues to follow me around the store, but realize she was abandoning her assigned post. She then goes and tell security to stand by the entry doorway.
I watched every move she made and decided to tell the store manager how she profiled me. The store manager told me to not let her stop me from buying an item that I really wanted. I informed the store manager I'd rather spend my money at another location where I'm not treated as a theft.
I'll be making the extra 10 min drive to Crofton, better selection anyway.

This is my least favorite TJ Maxx in the DMV. I am a TJX rewards member and I shop at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeSense and HomeGoods stores from Annapolis, MD to Willamsburg, VA. I spend thousand of dollars per year with this company. The selection is scant, especially when it comes to beauty and this location is far behind their counterparts in terms of stocking trending items. Also, the manage here makes her own rules. She doesn't allow exchanges, rather she makes you return your items, then compete a new purchase. You can't apply credit for your returned items toward your new purchase. So if you need a dfferent size for several items, you better make sure you have the money to cover a new purchase. She claims it's the new "system" but no other store has this issue. Also, she pretends she can't take back certain returns that other stores don't bat an eye at. Even if an item is clearly unused or unworn, she will find a way to discourage you from returning it or pretend that the "system" won't allow her to return it. She is never friendly or courteous and honestly because of her I avoid this location as much as possible although it is closest to my home.

Nice staff, clean store, and good selections that are frequently changing. Surprisingly has high end jewelry and a very knowledgeable lady at the jewelry counter!

I was checking out earlier today and this cashier was EXTREMELY RUDE! I noticed she greeted everyone who was african american with a smile at the checkout, and totally dropped any kind gesture as SOON as I approached the register. Upon checking out, I had asked her how she was doing and she didn't say a word! I gave it a couple of seconds as she was bagging my items and she clinged my items together upon checkout, and I asked her if the ban on plastic bags applied to the TJ MAXX store considering a lot of stores are pulling out of plastic bags, and she COMPLETELY ignored me and had the WORST attitude imaginable!!! So I didn't say anything further and as I was handed my receipt she began to mumble something under her breath as I walked away, and I said "do you have something to say?" because I genuinely wanted to know what her problem was. I showed her no anger upon approaching the counter and all I wanted was just to shop at T J MAXX happily. After I asked her if she had something to say because of the blatant disrespect she was showing me.. she cowered away and then began treating black customers nice again as I pushed my cart back into cart rack. Just wow. Very unprofessional and clearly a racist "employee". I will not be returning!

Compared to Ross next door I have to give you five stars. I just wish you had the mug that I wanted. Store looks pretty decent but clearance area needs a little shaping up.

Not an abundance of inventory. But the household towel and washcloth were very reasonable and were heavy in inventory
