Great park with lots of trails. It’s hilly but an easy stroll. We hiked 2 miles and saw about 40% of the park. Stop by the hidden pond to check out frogs. Watch out for horse poop, it boggles my mind we just accept that horse owners don’t have to clean up after their animals. Lots of dogs and quite a few people.

Absolutely gorgeous hike. It is a very healthy forested area.

We had a great time hiking with our dog. Nearby Elder Pine brewing. There's a trail not listed on the GPS maps, FYI. Not sure where it goes.

Awesome small park with plenty of shaded trails. Do be aware that some of the trails are a little overgrown, so long pants might be best. It's also horse friendly so there is some horse manure on a few trails.

A special place of deep woods. Six different bird calls at the same place.

Very nice little park. Not suitable if you want a really long hike or elevation changes, but perfect for hikes of an hour or two, relatively flat, and a variety of terrains - meadow, forest, and creekside. Also nice for bird watching.

A nice, low key area to walk around and chill.

It's a nice area to hike and also to bring horses, there are a few trails and a river that is nice for wading in the summer.

Great park for an easy stroll. Trails are well marked and the many loops give you lots of options for variety and length. Lots of big ole trees and cool rock formations. Don't miss out on the brewery nearby!

Lots of relaxing walking as always. Then a quick brew at the brewery next door. Restrooms at the brewery but not at the park.

Nice little park, as long as you don't care much where you go!If you hike the trails, learn them in advance! The poster at the parking lot may have shown the maps, but it's way too faded to be useful.ALL trails are marked with the same powder blue blaze (in fact, all trails in Montgomery County parks are marked this way,) and NONE are in Google maps. Most of the trails are loops, but there's no directional indication for which way the trail goes at each loop crossing. The county parks website points to (county atlas) MCAtlas. It omits some of them. Look for a screenshot I added to Google maps.Per the trail signage, I thought the Rachel Carson Greenway trail went all the way down Hawlings River and across MD-97. The atlas shows RCGT is just another loop. Who maintains the unidentified trail along the river? That's anybody's guess. Regardless, it's a good hike.

This is a fun place to hike- parts of it are good for beginners and other parts a bit more challenging and good for trail runners. Trail is clearly marked, well traveled and… wow. CLEAN! I’m so used to seeing litter on other trails, so the folks using this trail and whoever is keeping this trail maintained is doing a great job! We’re definitely going back for a longer hike. (Spent only a hour here).

Nice little park with lots of trails. Not a ton of parking. Trails can get muddy but you can always take a dip in the river!
