I got lost coming here and it didn't help that the day I decided to come here was foggier than it had been in a while. I actually ended up turning into the wrong place at first. When I finally did get to the right place I went inside and was looking for parts for the liter box I have. I went to the cat section and looked around for a bit. Like other places it appeared that all the parts had disappeared from the shelves. I looked around for a bit more and then ended up going up front to ask an employee if they knew if there were any items left. She escorted me back to the cat section again, pulled out here store handheld and looked it up. She did notice there were a few items still left in store. She helped me to find them, as they were hidden on an endcap. She told me they were clearance as they were discontinued, I was aware of that. However, they were on clearance more than what they were showing in their system. I appreciated the stellar customer service I got here. So much so that I browsed a bit more and picked up a few other items. As soon as I left here, I called my family members to ask them to keep an eye out at other locations if they come upon any of those items.

If there is negative starts, I will give -5!!On October 14th, 2023, my family brought our two dogs to the PetCo located at Burtonsville for their scheduled grooming appointments. Upon arriving for our appointment, we were informed that the groomer had been injured by the previous dog.We asked if we should reschedule for another day, but the staff took our dogs back for their appointments anyway. Thirty minutes later, we received an urgent call from the grooming staff, requesting that we pick up our dogs immediately. When we arrived, our dogs had received none of the requested grooming services. Additionally, Burtonsville PetCo made no attempt to reschedule or compensate us for the incomplete and botched service.One week later, we discovered our dogs are now labeled as "aggressive" in PetCo's system. When we called to inquire about this restriction on making any future grooming appointments, we were repeatedly put on endless holds, transferred, and eventually disconnected multiple times. It was clear the staff had no intention of addressing our concerns.After reaching out to PetCo's corporate headquarters several times over a three week period, we finally received a response stating our dogs were now "referred out" from that location. No explanation was provided. When we were finally able to speak with the Burtonsville's store manager, she bluntly admitted that after discussing it with the groomer, they decided we a "terrible owners" and purposefully marked our dogs as aggressive in retaliation.This unprofessional and vindictive behavior from Burtonsville PetCo's staff is completely unacceptable.

Me and my son came in to get a fish and the lady helping us was awesome! She was super helpful,kind and patient with us through the process. My son raved about how nice our fish helper was . Really wish I would have gotten her name . But to the young lady who was working the front with the twist , thank you!!

The GM Daina is such a wealth of knowledge and I ended up purchasing the Petco Vital Care Premier Membership subscription which saves me so much money. Great customer service, awesome experience! And my fur baby loves it there. Now we’re shopping for a dragon! Fave location !!

Store employees are nice. However, I’ve had a problem with the vet people twice now. The first time I scheduled my kitten’s vaccination, they texted me to come in ten minutes early so I did. No one even came out until 13 minutes after. Told me my kitten was too young and had to reschedule. If they actually looked at the information I submitted, they could’ve told me earlier before I came to the store. The second time, I’m less than ten minutes late and they had the audacity to tell me to reschedule. Yet the other time I came early, no one was ready to help.

I was at the store this evening looking for food options for my sick cat who hasn’t had much of an appetite. Kylie and another kind lady (whose name I unfortunately did not ask) went above and beyond suggesting a lot of different options and ideas to get him interested. I came home with, among other foods, a high calorie supplement for senior cats. I would never have thought to buy it because he’s 4. That did the trick!!! I have not seen him this excited about food in a while. I was very happy with the variety of food/ supplements in the store. And even happier with the interaction with these two kind associates. It was very apparent that they are both extremely knowledgeable and caring.

Didn't have the best/greatest selection. This is one of the smaller Petcos I've visited so maybe that's bc of the size of this store. Many items were not lined up with the price tag on the shelf so I was surprised when turtle water conditioner cost me 15 when I thought on the shelf it said $8. I ended up returning it the next day bc I can get that stuff cheaper through Amazon.
