I was really excited to coming to this salon. Unfortunately the person that did my locs did not know what the heck they was doing. I want my locs rolled up in a style using pipe cleaners. I even showed her a picture but she overlapped my locs and it looked nothing like the picture. I'm totally disappointed. I really wanted to make this place my salon but it's back to the drawing board. Word of advice if a customer comes in and tell you she's looking for a new salon, make sure you do a good job so they will return.

Karibbean Kinks is the best loc salon in the world! We’re so lucky to have them here in the DMV. Sherelle and her team are incredibly talented and reasonably priced for the quality of work. This is the ONLY place you need to go for loc maintenance- especially for special occasions. They can do any style you think of and they are constantly innovating! Book them and buy their products. You won’t be disappointed!

KK is my second favorite place in the world after church! The service is immaculate and the loc artist in the shop are so talented. I recommend Karibbean Kinks to all of my fellow natural hair brothers and sisters. Do yourself a favor—leave your ghetto loctician and make your haircare a priority.

The shop was very nice the people were friendly but I was really disappointed I asked for a asymmetrical bob .The next day they started unraveling 13 to be exact I called the shop the owner wS very nice and told me to come in so the stylist could fix it She did fix it and the next day 8 came out I’ve never experienced anything like this my styles normally last 2 months .I paid $265 for my style to last a week very disappointed

The locs came out nice but the wait was very long and the price for children under 11 was over $200. If you have the funds and don’t mind waiting, it’s honestly a good salon.

I had a terrible experience at this salon in July of this year. What made it even worse was that I came in to be styled for my 30th birthday party. As Black women, many of us firmly grasp the importance of choosing a salon for our birthday hair. Finding a salon you can trust with such a momentous occasion should be a dream come true. Unfortunately, I had a nightmarish experience.I want to reiterate what a couple of the other reviews already say. Some of this staff’s personalities, attitudes, and demeanors are truly unbearable. In my experience, the salon’s culture felt very much like “sit down, shut up, and be styled.” If you’re newly loc’d, are looking to learn and or ask questions about the styling process, or are generally looking for a more collaborative experience with the stylists, this is not the place I would recommend.Unfortunately, as Black women with locs, we already have so few options as to where we can go to get our hair styled. It’s a disappointment when Black women loc stylists are quick to lose their patience, disregard client requests, dismiss client preferences, and make clients feel like they’re an inconvenience.Service: Hairstyling
