Country Corner Store is a gem of a find! Owned by Mr. Jay, a pillar of the Oella community, one can find pretty much anything and everything in this one-stop-shop type of a place. Just note, this is a legit country store, offering random canned items, dried goods, toys, collectibles, drinks, snacks, and even hot food. We saw a patron come in, looking for charcoal, and there was a bag hiding behind the front door! We stopped by, as we had heard about Mr. Jay's famous burgers - we ordered one to share, open to any toppings he recommended - ours came with fresh Romaine lettuce, sliced onions, a hot pepper spread, sliced fresh jalapenos, cheese, and mayo, all nestled in a locally baked bread. This was a simple, but a tasty burger! The freshly-ground beef is picked up every morning, from the slaughterhouse that is across the street; I don't really want to think about that all too much, but just know that what you're getting is some fresh proteins! Mr. Jay also grows his own peppers and such, so you'll taste the freshness! There are a few comfortable chairs around the store, so you can definitely just sit and enjoy your food, or take it to go - we opted to dine-in, and we almost fell asleep since we were that cozy and relaxed! HA! Mr. Jay is also known as the Mayor of Oella, so be sure to sit and listen to his stories - he's so kind, personable, and has a lot of history to share! I saw a published photo book of his, which I found super cool; we also received the town's community calendar and a sampling of a neighbor's homemade brownie! Be sure to stop by to grab a meal - we had heard that he makes amazing omelets, so we'd love to try that next time! There's parking on the side. +ask for Mr. Jay! +country store offering a wide range of items! +parking on the side

This place is a hidden gem to those that aren't local. It's so much more than a convenience store. It's breakfast, lunch and dinner made to order. The Jay Burgers are popular, but his Indian Food is by far the best you'll find in the area. Jay is always making things happen for the community. He helps run the community gardens, the Westchester Center and so much more. It's not just the corner store, it's the cornerstone of the community.

Hmm... Where do I start? OK, get the Jay burger. It's really, really good. The store itself is a step back in time like my Grandma's old grocery store/deli. Sometimes, you make mistakes in life. I've driven past this little gem in Oella way too many times. 30 years ago I'd drive by it on my motorcycle. Several times I've driven by in my car with the missus. I'd occasionally drive by while picking up some fresh meats at Treuth's butcher shop down the street. Not today! Today I had lunch at The Country Corner Store. There really isn't a menu as such. The owner, Jay, will make you just about any sandwich you'll find at a sub shop from his deli meats. The missus and I went for the "Jay burger" after reading reviews here and other review sites. It's a cheeseburger. You know made from fresh ground beef from Treuth's and fresh rolls from The Breadery across the street. There is a nice selection of soft drinks and chips. I'm giving 5 stars because The Country Corner Store in Oella is the legitimate mom & pop shop from the 1960's. Driving past this country store so many times without enjoying its quaint hospitality and good food is one mistake I'm glad I have corrected.

We happened upon the store while in town looking for breakfast and got a wonderful history of EC, excellent bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, advice for plans for the day (which we took!), a ton of kindness, and some homemade hot sauces! You’ve got to stop by. Jay is fantastic.

This is one of my favorite local places. It is quaint and like a step back in time. No need to goto NC for a visit to Mayberry when you have it right here. The proprietor, Jay Patel, always has a smile on his face and a story to tell. Sit and relax a spell with a cup of coffee and one of Jay's specialties from the grill. He will regale you with stories from his colorful past both in Oella and abroad from his birth country of India.Get a unique taste of local color right here!Don't forget to buy a calendar!

Delicious burgers, and the kindest man you'll ever meet. I could've stayed for hours to listen to him talk about his accomplishments. His town is so fortunate.

Great little hole in the wall convenience store with great burgers from the local butcher shop and buns from the local bakery! Jay is awesome. He's fun to talk to and full of history of the local area and is quite the contributor to his community!
